Ystad Camping

I really don’t understand why this camping site has such a high rating, I think it might be one of the worst we have ever visited. If we hadn’t booked four nights we would have found another one. The site is right next to a road, and it is VERY noisy, don’t believe anyone saying otherwise. There is only a small hedge between the site and the road. It supposed to only be allowed to go 50 km a hour, but people go way faster, especially motorbikes which there seems to be a lot of. Unfortunately we had a spot right next to the road, if we would have known about the noise beforehand we would have picked another site. Instead we had 4 restless nights even with earplugs. On the other site of the camping site the railroad runs so basically you’re trapped by traffic on both sides. Also you have to insert money on your access card to shower for. Which is no problem except we were told by the girl in the reception that you get the remaining money out at check out. You don’t! We would never had put so much on the cards for 4 days if we knew we would get it back?! I can see from other reviews that this was also a common complain several years ago, shouldn’t be that hard to fix, instead it feels like they are making money on this. The only thing I would say this site has going for it is that it’s close to the beach. But so many other places are that I would rather stay at.

Deze zomer 1 nachtje in een hutje verbleven. Was er graag wat langer gebleven, maar helaas geen beschikbaarheid meer. Hutje was prima. 2 stapelbedden, tafeltje met stoelen. Kookplaatje met koelkast en vriesvak. De hutjes liggen dicht bij elkaar, maar daar heb ik geen hinder van ondervonden. De douches en het toilet bevinden zich in gebouwen op een minuut lopen. Prima voorzieningen. Met 5 minuten lopen sta je op het strand van de Baltische zee. In de omgeving is genoeg te doen: Ystad, strand, het achterland, omgeving Kivik en Stenshuvud NP.
