Pump Hill Farm Cottages

We stayed at Pump Hill for three nights. When we originally booked we read reviews online and chose Pump Hill because of what it offered for kids. With a 2.5 year old we wanted to take him somewhere he could interact with the animals and spend some time running around on the property. Pump Hill certainly delivered! We stayed in the Wattle cottage which was two bedroom, one bathroom. It is a brick and mud cottage (I think) and had a genuine farm feel about it. The cottage was clean and well maintained while still providing that rustic feeling. Unfortunately on the first night we lost power due to bad storms in town. I phoned owner Gwen who was lovely and she sent around farmhand Jo with some extra candles. The stove/oven ran on gas so we could still cook dinner and there was firewood available so we stayed nice and warm. There was also a BBQ at our cottage which we used on our second night. I had read reviews about uncomfortable beds but we found the complete opposite. We were very comfortable and there were extra warm blankets provided which added to our comfort. The next morning we met Farmer Jo for a tractor ride to feed all the animals. Jo was very friendly and we had a great time meeting the animals on the farm and learning about them. We were told that we could feed/pet any of the animals during the day and we took the opportunity to when we could. There were carrots and apples available at reception free of charge to feed the animals. On our second morning we met Mark who owns the farm. He was so lovely and had a great sense of humour. My son was just as excited to go on the tractor ride to feed the animals for a second time. We learnt more about the farm and the animals from Mark. You can see that he genuinely loves his animals and the farm. The children got to collect the eggs from the chicken coop and we discovered that Mark had put store bought eggs in there for the kids to collect (chickens don't lay many eggs during winter). This was a great touch and something the kids will remember. We stayed back for a little while after feeding time and spoke with Mark and he told us more about the animals and said we could go into any of the paddocks/enclosures and spend time with the animals throughout the day which was amazing. We brushed the miniature ponies and spent some time patting them. Overall we had a fantastic stay at Pump Hill Farm Cottages and would recommend it to anyone, especially those with young kids. The accommodation isn't 5 star but it was clean and comfortable. We booked Pump Hill for the ”farm” experience and that is worth 5 stars! It was lovely to sit in our cottage and see the horses in the paddock in front of us. The cottage had cooking utensils etc for us to use and there is an IGA in town or a Woolworths in Manjimup so we bought our own groceries. Yes there is no Wi-Fi in the cottages but it was so nice to get away and just experience what Pump Hill had to offer and we didn't need the internet. The TV sys
