Okay, I’m assuming that the title of my review was what attracted you to my review. Yes, it’s a weird one but the contents of my review will help to clarify. First things first: I stayed in a heritage room on the Mother’s Day weekend by myself. The room itself was very clean but unfortunately, what stood out most for all the wrong reasons was the bathroom hence the review title. If you could actually call it that. It was the weirdest thing I’ve seen in a motel room: more like an elevated ***** of floor that had been added in almost as an afterthought with a small shower stall one side of a long steel sink that looked more appropriate in an industrial kitchen. Luckily I don’t use a wheelchair or mobility aids like walking frames; I would NOT want to try showering or even trying to use the loo if I did! If it weren’t for the sliding door, one would have been stuck looking at the sink and the loo from their bed. Not exactly what one wants to be looking at if they’re having an indulgent and/or romantic weekend away. Also, the exhaust fans weren’t the best so the smell of the toilet had a tendency to linger for hours after flushing. The takeaway from this experience: if you want an indulgent and/or romantic weekend, pay extra and upgrade to a superior room ideally a junior suite. It’s due to the above, I don’t feel 100% comfortable giving this hotel 5 stars; however, I was otherwise very happy with my experience. I would particularly like to single out James for his excellent customer service, especially the following: 1) When I asked about breakfast and learned it was a buffet (I’m immunocompromised and avoid buffets and/or food sharing to reduce risk of germs) he spoke to the kitchen staff and assured me I could ask for some individually plated food. 2) Taking the time to ask if I needed help with luggage or anything 3) He was very knowledgeable about Werribee Mansion and park preccinct and took the time to recommend places of interest both within the hotel (eg. Pool and spa and the library) and around the park precinct itself. 4) Additionally, he took the time to ask about my own experiences in the park precinct and was genuinely interested to hear my thoughts I’d also like to make a special mention of the restaurant staff who made my individually plated food at breakfast (the supervisor on Mother’s Day even made me a cup of tea) in general for great customer service.
