Xela Tulum - Member of Design Hotels

Le parole non possono descrivere l'esperienza che abbiamo avuto a Xela. Mio marito e io siamo amanti dell'ospitalità: io adoro gli hotel e lui i ristoranti. Siamo stati in posti fantastici in tutto il mondo, ma il nostro viaggio a Xela è stato davvero memorabile. La proprietà in sé è meravigliosa: con solo 12 camere, sembra accogliente ed esclusiva come se stessi soggiornando in una tenuta. Anche il cibo era delizioso, abbiamo bevuto margarita al mezcal e ceviche ogni giorno. Ma è davvero il team, le persone e il servizio che la rendono eccezionale. Paula, Manual, Abdiel e tutto lo staff lì ti hanno fatto sentire come a casa: sono cordiali, attenti e al top di tutto. Tutto sembrava così personalizzato, al punto che ricordano il tuo ordine. Questo è stato di gran lunga uno dei migliori, se non il migliore, servizio che abbiamo mai avuto. Alla fine del nostro soggiorno di una settimana, non volevamo davvero andarcene e parlavamo già di tornare. Siamo così grati a Xela per aver reso questo viaggio indimenticabile.

I have so much to say but not a lot of time. Will try to get the main points written here for you all. First of all, book this hotel and don't even consider another. Its incredible for so many reasons. I have stayed at many great hotels (Aman resorts, Four Seasons, Rosewood, etc) and in some weird ways this was one of my favorites ever. Its small, so its more like staying in someones house, and the rooms are not over the top luxury, but they are perfect. The hotel decor and feel is just wonderful and the most you will ask for at any beach hotel anywhere. There are 6-8 little cabanas on the beach which are all great and do not fill up so there is no waking up early to have to get a spot. And yes, this hotel is on the beach. I was confused about that when I booked it, but its beachfront and many of the rooms are almost right on the beach. But don't worry, if you get a room in the garden side its equally as great and charming. The staff is wonderful, and you will end up saying goodbye (and hugging) to all of them before you leave. Since its a small venue you get to know everyone and they get to know you. They have a whats app so everything during the stay is to you within minutes after you message them. At first I was not sure about that, but wow, no more waiting around for waiter to show up to order, or to call a front desk that does not answer. Its incredible. There is a mart right near by that has great prices on snacks, alcohol, and drinks which is also nice for those of you wanting to pick up a little something. But the food at the hotel is amazing, so not to worry if you do not have anything with you. The hotel was actually the best food of anywhere we ate in Tulum Beach. I checked out all the other top rated resorts in the area and at the end of the day, I do not think anyone of them beats Xela. They may be as nice, but not better. The reason everyone says this is in a great location is because its close enough to walk to the busy part of Tulum beach, but far enough away that you do not get the late night noise. It is also near many of the other top resorts so you can walk to those with ease. For those of you new to Tulum a few notes, Tulum Beach and Tulum are not that close to eachother, and from Xela to downtown Tulum is 20-30 minutes. We just stayed in Tulum beach. Also, the Tulum airport is almost an hour from the hotel which is kind of annoying (its 2 hours from the Cancun airport). But the good news is the Tulum airport is so small and quick that coming out of there or flying from there is extremely easy and fast, so you do not deal with the large lines to get in and out of the country. That is a big game changer compared to the Cancun airport. Anyway, for those of you that go to Xela enjoy and take great care of the hotel and staff. You will love it!

Outstanding hotel! Amazing concierge service making your stay perfect from the first until the last minute. The food, stuff, wanderful beach, rooms,perfect location...everything was 10/10...We can´t wait to come back. Thank you guys!

The hotel Xela is just enchanting ! Everything is marvellous! The staff is so kind and friendly . Their hospitality went far over our expectation . The ambience is incredibly relaxing and the style of the hotel so beautiful . The real gem of our room was the private pool . Super ! We really enjoyed the food . Especially the tacos are exquisite ! Way better then the restaurant Nu in front of the hotel ! Its a real paradise to relax and enjoy the beach and atmosphere of Tulum

Xela Tulum is wonderful in every way. It’s small, peaceful and intimate. We stayed in their “Xela Master Suite” which was a treat. It’s very spacious, private and beautiful. Loved the simple yet stunning décor with natural wood accents and washed concrete floors and walls. The bathroom was huge and stunning. Open concept with an amazing concrete bathtub and an abundance of natural light. You feel like you’re in the jungle (and you are!). This suite is on the 2nd floor and is somewhat tri-level with 2-3 stairs from one room to another so could be tricky if you have mobility issues. We definitely had to tread mindfully during nighttime as the lighting, although quite sexy, is also very low in every room. There is no lighting in/above the open concept shower. The bedroom is oceanfront with floor to ceiling sliding doors that open to a private balcony. You can see and hear the ocean through the swaying palms right from the dreamy bed. Bed and bath linens were top notch. The sunrises from this suite were EPIC. Excellent WiFi and no TV’s (yay!). Water pressure was hit or miss. Housekeeping was excellent and provided filtered drinking water in the room daily. The pool is small but lovely. I had it all to myself most of our time there; simply sublime… The beach is gorgeous with comfy thatched covered chaise lounges. The colors of the Caribbean against the bright white powder soft sand is breathtaking. Don’t miss sunset over the jungle on the rooftop. Thankfully we did not encounter the dreaded sargassum seaweed during this stay. It can be VILE dependent on the time of year. Remarkable and impeccable service night and day but never intrusive. 24/7 security. Every staff member we met were so welcoming, kind and joyful. Thank you Miss Paula! Wonderful on-property dining; delish! So many wonderful things to do and see within walking distance; market for snacks and adult beverages, pharmacia, tons of beautiful restaurants, bars and beach clubs. My spa service at their sister property La Valise was exceptional. LOVED the cool bohemian vibe of the whole lovely and perfectly manicured property. Pictures do not do this little piece of heaven justice. Pure luxury! We were blown away and can’t wait to return. Wow.

Incredible stay at Xela. Paula was so helpful and friendly and the staff were so smiling and wonderful the whole time. The whole design of the hotel is flawless, uncluttered and soothing. Comfortable bed, hot shower. Stunning pool, right on the ocean, and quiet at night which for Tulum isn’t an easy find. The food was great too, and Oscar our waiter was a legend. Helpful to have a WhatsApp chat going with the staff, which means you can ask any questions you have. We enjoyed the complimentary yoga. Sadly it wasn’t offered every day but the one day we did have it was great. Brilliant little gym and the smoothies are to die for. Also they gave us bikes for free to cycle to the Tulum Ruins (takes about 45 mins). Only thing was on the night we arrived loads of my clothes got soaked in the room - my suitcase had been near the mini fridge, and for some reason a few of the bottles had exploded inside it and leaked! A freak accident. Didn’t matter but just don’t leave your bags near the fridge like I did! I did think for the price we were paying per night, the snacks and drinks in the mini bar could have been included (they were charged extra) but that’s just a small observation. Finally, I fully recommend their sister restaurant Nu (delicious fish) and the chakra harmonising ceremony is something that blew my mind. A really unique experience to book via Xela and includes a back massage. Overall was so sad to leave, it’s a slice of heaven. Thank you Xela for a stunning stay.
