Toronto: hotel a 2 stelle

We spent two nights in the hostel. The location and neighbourhood is great, gives you good vibes and a big selection of food and drinks. The rooms, at least our room, are still quiet. Just keep in mind that there is no parking that belongs to the hostel. We had to park our car 10 min walk away, which cost extra. Our bedroom (1 queensize bed) was clean, but the bathrooms should be cleaned more often and soap dispenser regually checked and refilled. The breakfast was very good with a diverse selection.

La posizione geografica è super buona, le strutture vicine a DT sono disponibili a piedi.

2nd times stay in this hotel, good location , have gym room and free shuttle to hotel/airport. walk 5 to 7minutes to restaurant near by. Recommended.

It was against my better judgment to stay here after reading so many bad reviews but all other hostels were full. The owner needs to either employ more staff or train the ones they have on how to clean. While my bed appeared clean nothing else did. The carpets are disgusting and need to be ripped out. The bathrooms while seemingly fairly new are disgusting with mould, soap build up and general dust & dirt. This could be a great place with some effort as the location is interesting and on a good public transport route.

We stayed here for 4 nights and the place was severely disappointing in many ways. Firstly, the room had not been cleaned properly at all when we arrived. Everything was dirty, dirty cutlery in the kitchen drawers, a bath tub littered with lots of empty soap packaging, extremely grimey and dusty kitchen appliances etc… the list goes on. Clearly no deep cleaning had been done at all. We complained about this in the morning and they said they would clean it whilst we went out for a few hours, we got back half the day later and nothing had been done until we complained again, they sent someone upstairs who mopped out the bath tub and that was it. We also reported and showed them that the toilet didn’t flush properly to which he said it seems to be broken and then never did anything about it for our entire stay. There were no windows or natural light in the room apart from one tiny square window in the ceiling that had a hole in it. The AC was way too cold, leaving us shivering at night, we complained and nothing could be done as it was a central AC system apparently that couldn’t be adjusted. They messed up our check out dates and we’re calling us a day before we were due to leave asking why we haven’t checked out yet so we had to walk back from our planned activities to show them the paperwork that we were not due to check out until the following day. The staff were friendly and uncombative but also didn’t seem to have a clue what was going on most of the time and were ultimately unhelpful and unreliable. The check out was very easy though and didn’t take anytime at all and there was the one positive to this place and that was definitely the location. Dragon Gate Inn is situated in a really great area with lots of nice cafes and bars right down the street, cool trendy neighbourhoods all within a 10 minute walk or less including Ossington Ave, Chinatown and Kensington Market. Would not ever stay here again but would look for somewhere in the same location that can actually meet the basic requirements of what is expected from a guest house/hostel or hotel.

This is an iconic hotel of Toronto. I came to the ballet and forgot to make reservations and at the last minute all my choice hotels were booked. So I ended up here as a last choice. Must confess that when I first saw it, I was dismayed by its appearance until I stepped in and was greeted by Megan, a very pleasant young lady. I requested a first floor room(no elevator). I was told these rooms have no A/C. I asked:does it have a fan? Yes. I’ll take it. The room was not that little, private bath and windows!!! Very important to air the place. Ran out and bought plenty of room freshness paraphernalia. Although we are in a heat wave, it was a very cool room. They should get rid of the carpet and place laminated floors instead. It is a very basic hotel. They provided 2 soaps, towels in the bathroom(need to bring your own toiletries). No hair dryer. A fan, Big flat TV, a table and two chairs, Full size bed. Drawers. Night table with lamp(that is not working). For a night it was not bad. I discovered a new place through my window-Esra’s. I reviewed in another post. The hotel is a few blocks from Younge-Dundas Sq Downtown Toronto. I saw plenty of young people checking in for the upper floors.

La stanza dell'hotel è buona, cioè la porta esterna è in tappeto. La porta accanto alla porta può entrare. La colazione è disponibile. Vado a prendere la zona di pranzo da solo. Non è il tipo di hotel che mette la colazione sul tavolo per la forma di auto-aiuto

Questa è una residenza studentesca (dorm) dell'Università di Toronto che è operato come un hotel in estate. Era un vecchio Holiday Inn. Situato dietro la City Hall, sul bordo della città cinese e vicino alla metropolitana e alle autostrade, non poteva essere più camminabile e conveniente. Le camere sono spartano, tutte con bagno privato. Nessuna televisione o telefono. Nessuna custodia a meno che non si tengano per soggiorni lunghi. È molto utile la scrivania e la ricezione. Guardia di sicurezza davanti agli ascensori per carte chiave. Excelente WiFi. Nessuna struttura per il ritenuta di sicurezza e altri valori.

Despite reading some negative reviews from previous years, I had a great experience staying here! Inside was clean, simple, and comfortable. I was in a room of 4 with a private bathroom. Staff were generous and kind. I was able to leave my bags here the day I checked out and came back to collect them in the afternoon. Great location in the city, and felt safe here (there was a homeless encampment in the park but they keep to themselves). Would definitely recommend it and stay again!

La posizione dell'hotel è molto buona. Sei minuti di auto dall'aeroporto, 13 dollari se Uber dice. La stanza non è piccola, gli oggetti di letto sono generali, gli oggetti di biancheria sono anche molto generali, ma forniscono due bottiglie di acqua ogni giorno, che è molto buono per Samsung in Canada. La colazione è buona, il grado di ricchezza raggiunge il livello di 4 stelle, con salsa di waffle e frutta fresca.Ma i bacon e le uova guardano l'atmosfera del cuoco, alcuni sono dolci
