The room was small but in a city like Tokyo it was expected. Clean room. The location was super convenient as Komagome is on the JR Yamanote Line and also on Tokyo Metro Namboku Line. Both stations are within steps of the hotel. There are plenty of food options and convenience stores around. It was a very quiet neighborhood so it may not be ideal for some people but for me and my kid it was perfect.

excellent location just 2mins away from Tabata station, which made other spots in Tokyo super accessible as it's on the Yamanote line. the station was easy to navigate (vs other stations where you might get lost with ur luggage) which i like!
the room is comfortably large for 1 large luggage and there was daily room cleaning. my only gripe is that there is no front desk staff, so you can't forward your luggage to/from this hotel, nor store it. it also does not provide the full set of amenities that many hotels offer (e.g. comb, skincare, qtips) but it's just a small inconvenience. would stay again!

밤늦게 도착했는데도 정말 친절히 응대해 주셨고 적극적으로 도움 주시려는게 좋았습니다. 싱글베드로 구비된것과 화장실 샤워실 등 청결하고 수압도 좋았습니다. 각종 어메니티나 차 커피 등도 로비에 구비가 잘 되어 자유롭게 이용하기 좋았고, 저희 여행 계획에 가까운 거리의 숙소여서 더 좋았네요. 오츠카 역과 정말 가까웠고 역 앞에 조식이 되는 식당도 있어서 아침 먹고 다른 곳으로 이동하기에도 편했습니다. 다음에도 머물고 싶고 조식도 이용해보고 싶네요.

Ho fatto un breve viaggio in Giappone con un programma di 4 giorni e la posizione dell'hotel non era lontana dalla città, ma non era troppo affollata, quindi ho potuto trascorrere dei bei momenti in silenzio. La stazione di Ikebukuro non è troppo lontana, quindi è facile camminare e ci sono molte cose da vedere intorno a Sunshine City, quindi la consiglio.
I negozi di alimentari si trovano nelle vicinanze e le lavanderie a gettoni e i servizi di convenienza sono ben attrezzati, quindi penso di essere stato in grado di viaggiare davvero comodamente.
Penso che prenoterò di nuovo se avrò qualcosa da viaggiare a Tokyo.

The room is a little bit small and not friendly to open a suitcase inside. However, the facilities are excellent. The hot spring, free dessert, free laundry and inexpensive drying service are impressive. There are many comics books in the laundry area too. I highly recommend this place.

군더더기 없이 깔끔하고 편리한 숙소였습니다.
3층에 묵었는데 무거운 짐은 화물전용 리프트가 있어서 들지 않아도 되고 1층 입구쪽에 전자레인지가 있어서 간단한 식사나 간식에 이용하기 좋았어요.
1층 계단 옆 비품함이 있어서 무인체크인이지만 불편함없이 필요한 물품을 그때그때 쓸 수 있었습니다.
체크아웃할 때 직원분을 만났는데 물을 주셔서 남은 여정에 잘 마시고 있습니다. 감사합니다.
지하철 역도 주변에 세곳 있어서 다른 곳으로 이동하기 편리해요

L'hotel offre una vasta gamma di bagni in lobby con è molto gentile e utile. La posizione è conveniente per la stazione Ikebukuro e per le aree commerciali, nonché vicino a alcuni grandi piatti come 'Uova', nonché un Cinema Toho. Non ci sono molto spazio per il posizionamento dei bagagli o per muoversi in giro. Non consiglierei un lungo soggiorno, forse qualche giorno. Se vai a Disney, sarà un lungo viaggio lontano e sentirà peggio ancora quando fai il viaggio di nuovo la sera. Di buon umore per qualche giorno, ma piccolo e convulso per qualcosa di più.

UUtente ospiteI am a book lover myself, and came to stay here for 2 nights in March a week before Easter, mainly for the library theme and book selection. The hotel itself, the book lounge, and the book libraries on each floor was all very very good. However, upon my checking in, it was obvious that the male receptionist on the left pay more attention to Caucasian guests rather than me (an Asian solo female traveller). I had the impression they just wanted to get rid of me asap, and then served the Caucasian guests behind me.
During the whole of my check in process, no one mentioned anything about the special libraries on each floor, no one told me about the free beverages offered “at the far end corner for the reception desk”, and definitely no one mentioned anything about he QRcode library tour!!! I stayed for two nights and it was only after the first night (when I read the books inside my room that I knew of ANY of the services I mentioned above). Of course one may say I could read all those on the signage’s provided in the property. But then…
Upon walking into the reception desk the next day, I did hear the same male receptionist explained in great detail (everything I mentioned above)in English to other Caucasian guests.
I like the library premise of the property, the books selections were great, exhibition on the first floor was quite nice, however, I am not sure if I would stay for a second time, knowing how they treated solo female Asian guest whom they assumed was not civilised enough (that was my impression) to deserve a thorough introduction about this lovely bookish hotel from them. Quite disappointed to be frank, especially knowing how much history this hotel has included!!

UUtente ospiteLa posizione è ottima, la vista è fantastica, la colazione è deliziosa e il letto è fantastico. È a circa 6 minuti a piedi dalla stazione JR di Shinjuku. È anche molto comodo spostarsi a Tokyo. Ci sono molte attività commerciali e ristoranti tra cui scegliere vicino all'hotel, e anche lo shopping è molto conveniente. Ho soggiornato per quattro notti consecutive e le pulizie hanno mantenuto la camera molto pulita ogni giorno. Ci tornerò se ne avrò l'opportunità.

UUtente ospiteLa posizione dell'hotel è relativamente buona. È più facile da trovare dall'uscita JR della stazione di Shinjuku. Si consiglia di scendere prima a terra e poi di navigare, in modo che sia più facile trovarla. Accanto c'è un hotel Sunroute. Il logo è relativamente ovvio. Puoi seguirlo per trovarlo.
La stanza è abbastanza grande per le lezioni e relativamente pulita. La marca del bagno utilizzata è Pola. Le finestre sono relativamente morbide e ci sono due cuscini tra cui scegliere. La stanza ha tutto il necessario, compresa lavatrice e forno a microonde su tre piani. C'è un distributore d'acqua gratuito all'ingresso dell'ascensore su ogni piano, il che è molto premuroso.
Lo svantaggio è che il bagno della stanza puzza di urina, il che è piuttosto sgradevole. Inoltre, il rubinetto della doccia a pioggia non può essere riparato e continua a cadere, provocando acqua all'esterno, il che fa impazzire le persone.
Sono partito la mattina presto e ho fatto il check-out da solo, il che era più conveniente. C'è un Lawson accanto all'hotel, il che è molto comodo per fare shopping.
Il prezzo complessivo è un po' caro, ma nella zona centrale di Shinjuku, Tokyo, hanno tutti più o meno lo stesso prezzo, quindi potete scegliere in base alle vostre esigenze. Ho effettuato la prenotazione con 3 mesi di anticipo, ma in seguito non c'erano camere disponibili. Gli affari vanno così bene che ci sono molti stranieri che soggiornano qui.

SShinogawaIl personale della reception era molto attento ai dettagli e il servizio di campana era di prim'ordine. Il bus navetta per l'aeroporto era molto comodo. La posizione è in realtà molto vicina a Shinjuku se si cammina attraverso l'area stradale di Nishi-shinjuku anziché seguire le mappe di Google dalla stazione di Shinjuku. C'è anche una linea ferroviaria locale proprio dietro l'ingresso laterale dell'hotel che è facile da scambiare in direzione dell'area di Ginza/Ueno/Asakusa. L'hotel dispone anche di una combinazione aperta fino alle 2 del mattino. C'è anche una lavanderia aperta 24 ore su 24 per lavare i vestiti. Anche il WiFi era molto buono nella camera d'albergo. I canali TV possono essere migliorati avendo più canali inglesi. Anche la lavanderia ha un'eccellente vista del Monte Fuji! Se la tua camera ha questa vista, sei fortunato! Questo hotel è inoltre situato nella parte più tranquilla di Shinjuku, accanto all'edificio degli uffici governativi.

SSALLESWe had a nice stay at Washington Hotel Akihabara. The hotel is well located, nearby metro lines and local trains which allow us to easily move around Tokyo. Although the room is small, it is well designed and it big enough for few nights. The bed is not very large but comfortable. We managed to sleep with our 2 yo kid. You can also choose between soft or hard pillow. The bathroom was quite big with a nice bathtub. Around the hotel, you have plenty of restaurant and convenient stores. The buffet breakfast was great and everything we try tastes really good ! There is a large choice between Japanese food and wester food. Finally, there is a laundry area which was really convenient.

It’s not a luxury hotel, but it does a great job of providing a comfortable stay with thoughtful touches.
Location – Perfect for Travelers
One of the best things about this hotel is its location. Just a short walk from Ueno Station, it offers easy access to the JR Yamanote Line, the Keisei Skyliner (for Narita Airport), and multiple metro lines, making it an excellent choice for those who plan to explore different parts of Tokyo. Additionally, the Ameya-Yokocho (Ameyoko) Market is just around the corner, where you’ll find everything from fresh seafood and street food to clothing and souvenirs. It’s a lively area that adds to the appeal of staying in Ueno.
Room & Facilities – Compact but Functional
As expected, the rooms are small, which is pretty standard in Tokyo, but they are well-designed with everything you need. The bed was comfortable, and the room included basic amenities like a TV, a small desk, and a fridge. Storage space is limited, but for a short stay, it was manageable. The bathroom was also compact, though the onsen (public bath) on-site makes up for it.
Onsen – A Small but Relaxing Bath
One of the highlights of staying at Dormy Inn hotels is their public bath (onsen), and this location has one, albeit on the smaller side. It’s not the biggest or most luxurious onsen, but it’s a nice way to unwind after a long day of walking around Tokyo. The water temperature was just right, and while the space was limited, it wasn’t overly crowded when I visited.
Freebies & Unique Perks
Dormy Inn is known for offering small but unique perks to its guests. This location provides free popsicles and yogurt drinks, which is a nice touch. However, they are only available during specific hours, so if you’re out sightseeing all day, you might miss out on them. They also supposedly offer free late-night soba, a Dormy Inn signature, but I never actually saw it happen and didn’t feel like asking about it. Maybe I just missed the time window. Housekeeping – No Room Cleaning, Just Fresh Towels
One thing to note is that Dormy Inn follows a no-daily-cleaning policy. Instead of a full room service, they simply drop off fresh towels outside your door. This is fine if you’re staying just a few days, but if you prefer daily room cleaning, you might find it lacking.

The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient, which I appreciated. They handled everything quickly and provided all the necessary information without any issues. While I didn’t interact with them much after check-in, the overall service felt professional and welcoming.
Final Thoughts – A Solid Stay for Practical Travelers
Overall, Dormy Inn Ueno Tokyo is a great choice if you’re looking for a convenient, budget-friendly, and functional stay in Tokyo. The location is excellent, the onsen is a nice touch, and the small perks like free drinks and late-night snacks add to the experience. Just keep in mind that the rooms are small, there’s no daily cleaning, and some of the free amenities have limited availability. If you’re okay with that, it’s a great place to stay in Ueno!

UUtente anonimoSi consiglia molto chiunque vuole rimanere a Ginza e vuole un po' di merda all'interno dell'hotel. Non può spiegare la gioia di tornare dopo un lungo giorno di 25k passi e soffocare in un po' di merda. L'hotel dispone di un bagno e di mutandine all'aperto (non per la stanza) per poterlo usare per muoversi intorno all'hotel. Il naso ha anche gel da doccia, shampoo e condizionatore, quindi tutto quello che dovete fare è portare un asciugamano che l'hotel offre anche. Per chiunque si chieda, l'hotel ha anche una moneta operata lavatrice e asciugatrice. Non ricordo il costo esatto, ma un ciclo di lavaggio e asciugatura probabilmente ammonta a circa 300 yen! Vale la pena evitare lavanderia a casa.
Per la stanza stessa, anche se è piccola, con qualche manovra di esperti, siamo riusciti a aprire 1 grande e 1 piccolo bagaglio per imballare le cose. È una tipica camera giapponese di dimensioni piccole, ma è piuttosto funzionale, quindi funziona se stai cercando di chiudere gli occhi. In generale, consiglio questo hotel!

La stanza è delle giuste dimensioni e puoi spingere dentro la valigia dopo aver tirato fuori la sedia sotto il letto.
I cuscini originariamente forniti erano davvero duri e avevo paura quando mi sono sdraiato su di loro, ma c'erano altri cuscini forniti accanto all'ascensore, che erano molto buoni.
C'è anche un drink bar e una grande vasca da bagno. Viene fornita la password per entrare nella vasca da bagno, il che lo fa sentire molto sicuro.
