We stayed at the Brim Tbilisi for the last leg of our trip in Georgia, after spending 6 nights in 2 other lovely hotels. The reception staff at Brim hardly welcome you and just check you in as a formality! Do NOT expect a smile or any kind of hospitality. We stayed 3 nights and the hotel is up a steep incline so it was a bother to climb up and down in search of restaurants, plus there are hardly any nearby. So, we decided to check the rooftop restaurant which was another nightmare. We ordered our main courses after a few drinks and we were told it would take about 30 mins. We said it was fine and waited, after 1 hour we still had no sign of any food, they did serve burgers and stuff to other guests. Finally after an hour and a half we asked again and then the chef came out with the 2 dishes we had ordered. He did apologise saying there was some problem in the kitchen but the damage was done. The second day of our stay we had the most unacceptable incident, we were sleeping and at 7.00 AM someone tried to open the door and walk in!! Hearing the noise I shouted "who is there" and ran out to see a hotel staff rushing out saying he was sorry. I got back to the room and called reception to complain and they said sorry as well and that they would look into it. We got ready and came down for breakfast, checked with the reception to know the reason for the intrusion in the morning. The lady was totally unaware and said she would check with her colleague from the night shift as she had no information. I cannot imagine a hotel taking something like an intrusion into a guest room by their own staff so lightly!!!! We told the receptionist that it should never happen and to check the cc TV and let us know what the purpose was of the staff who did it. She said sorry it will not happen again, maybe they thought the occupants had checked out!! All around the world even room service knocks and no one barges into a guest room! The next day we checked out and no explanation was given by the hotel on why a staff had opened the door at an unearthly hour. The most unsafe hotel we have ever stayed in and one that never cares about their guests. To top it the rooftop restaurant on day 3 of our stay said they had a problem in their kitchen, when asked how much time it would take, the manager who was very unhelpful said he did not know when it would be ready. I have never written such a bad review of any hotel ever but this one deserves worse.
