Hotel in zona Karlangu Aboriginal Art Centre, Sydney

I had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Although an argument can be made about eclecticism and the use of curating a collection of exceptional vintage and contemporary objects this was not the case here, it read as a mismatched bric-à-brac (to borrow a Victorian word from the building time period that's true meaning in French means ”any old way” or ”at random”). La porta della stanza non può essere bloccata, e la ricezione ha consentito a qualcun altro di avere la chiave della nostra stanza E della stanza (dopo che abbiamo già sistemato). Questi nuovi ospiti hanno aperto la nostra porta alle 11:30 pm!!!! Le luci dell'hotel sono pure bianche e troppo luminose, e non c'è modo di oscurarle.

Have always been staying there. Good place especially d counter staff on 4 Jun 24 @ 1715pm. Always helpful ...takes d extra mile to ensure We were comfortable with our stay. Both duty staff. A lady n gentlemen. Thank you n Great Job.

We stayed for two nights at the end of May. Our room was quiet & clean even if in need of a refurbish, which presumably, going by the building works going on, is in progress. The building works didn't impinge on our stay at all. Our breakfast (which was included in our room rate), was surprisingly good. The area it was served in was very clean and bright. We found all the staff to be pleasant. Being able to checkin & checkout on line made things move quicker, especially the checkout. The cost of accommodation in the city is very high so we were pleased that Song Hotel was a bit more affordable to us.

The location is very convenient. One can walk to nearby attractions and the Museum station for transit to and from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful, and allowed me to check in early and check out one hour late. However, the WIFI is a bit slow and I didn’t get the connection for my computer unless I put it next to the microwave oven near the door, making it a bit inconvenient for me to do my work or conduct online meetings. The breakfast choices were the same during the whole time of my stay. I’m glad that I only stayed for 3 nights.

Il hotel è stato molto ricco di un hotel, e il centro di Sydney è stato molto ricco di un hotel. Il pranzo non è grande, iogurt, cereali, croissant, muffin, tostature, alcuni possono frutta, tè, caffè (12$). In questo ostello è successo qualcosa che non mi è mai successo prima. Ho lasciato alcuni dei miei vestiti sul letto, ho tenuto la casa cambiato letti e mi sono tolto i vestiti. Anche se avevo ancora due notti. La migliore decisione (che hanno detto) è che mi hanno dato un buono per colazione lmao!!!! Ho continuato a venire a chiedere se trovavano i miei vestiti, ma non lo hanno fatto. E l'ultimo giorno, quando mi stavo già lasciando, hanno detto bene, possiamo chiamare la polizia se voglio risolvere questo problema. È ridicolo! Per 2 giorni non hanno fatto niente, ogni volta che sono arrivato al divano, ci sono stati diversi lavoratori e è stato piuttosto difficile trovare un manager! Quindi se decidete di rimanere qui, tenete tutto il vostro bagno. Il padlock è $6. Ci sono lavastoviglie e asciugamani, non ho usato, ma per quanto mi ricordo circa 8 dollari. Il cazzo era sul livello della cucina, grande come il pollice.

On the ambience side, the decor and modern-ish art was uplifting and fun. The room was very clean. But, we were surprised to find the room so small. In order for 2 people to get into the bed, one had to crawl over the other. The very small window sill became the nightstand. There was no room for luggage, and no luggage racks - we were told they didn’t have enough. That meant one suitcase on the floor and one on the very small plastic table. The retro-refrigerator was cool, but my traveling companion kept threatening to move it out into the hall to create some space in the room the whole time we were there. And then, the very small bathroom, the shower door doubled as the door to the bathroom. Have you ever looked into a microwave? The shower and the bathroom walls had the same dot matrix pattern as a microwave door. My companion was surprised to see while showering she could see me relaxing on the bed, and when she screamed “can you see me?” I replied “yes”. My companion now has bathroom-PTSD. Not only was the shower see through, there was a full-room-view sitting on the throne, trying to do your business. Then the realization somebody may be watching. PTSD! Our solution was to use the downstairs public bathroom for major activities. Did I mention IBS???

L'hotel è stato pulito con personale amichevole. Le camere erano spaziose con grandi serrature per ogni occupante e le luci di cottura e letto laterali in una posizione molto grande. Docce/toilette in ogni piano e non ho mai dovuto aspettare di usarle. Il piano inferiore è che si può sentire la musica dal loro club di fondazione anche al 6° piano fino a tardi nella notte. Non mi ha disturbato perché ero solo poche notti e sono riuscito a dormire abbastanza. La cucina è troppo piccola per la quantità di ospiti nell'ostello. Le manifestazioni sociali che l'ostello ha organizzato sono un buon modo per incontrare le persone come una sola donna viaggiatore.

Avevo visitato la settimana della moda australiana e cercavo un posto dove stare a piacere. Non cercavo un alloggio di tipo studente Adina era la più vicina a Cariageworks e mi sorprendeva davvero. Non ho mai avuto nessuno che portasse i miei bagagli nella mia stanza in Australia! Ho offerto un consiglio e non accettavano. La stanza era immacolata, mi sentivo come la prima persona a usarla. Ho trovato la stanza molto tranquilla, anche se ha guardato la piscina. Ho detto che non bevo acqua fuori dal tappeto e quando sono tornato c'erano tre tin di acqua ancora sul tavolo della cucina. Non posso valutare Adina abbastanza. Congratulazioni, sarò di nuovo!

L'hotel è vicino all'università Macquirie e accanto c'è un bar dove prendere degli spuntini. La colazione gratuita è un vantaggio ma può fare di meglio con le varietà. Rimanendo lì più di 2 giorni, sceglierai di mangiare fuori per colazione. La lavanderia e la palestra sono luoghi piccoli ma comunque comodi. La biancheria da letto è eccezionalmente confortevole.
