Not for the faint of heart, be prepared for adventure on the mountain roads w/ an ATV or SUV rental!Our home is meant to be a luxury experience with amazing views, an infinity pool, and a fully stocked household. The entire front of the house is glass and opens to a tranquil outdoor experience, where howler monkeys can be heard from all around most mornings and evenings, while flocks of wild parrots circle at sunset. Every bedroom has access to the gorgeous ocean views with balcony seating. The master bedroom also has it’s own private balcony. The cool mountain breezes provide refuge from the summer humidity, as does the 25’ infinity pool and refreshing outdoor shower. We also provide a concierge service to help with all your needs. They organize add-ons such as a personal chef, adventure tours, surf lessons, rentals, reservations and more!As a final note for those concerned with creepy crawlies…This house does also include a pest control system that helps keep many insects away. That being said, this is still the jungle and there is always the chance for unwelcome visitors! So keep in mind that this is an “open air” house, there will be insects that get inside. The bedrooms are air conditioned but the main floor of the house relies on cross breeze from the front and back fully opening window walls.The main house is 3 bed 3 bath, however if extra room is required there is an adjacent king bed studio casita w/ kitchenette, on property that might be available to add on for a fee.SAFTEY SECTION.: This house is on a mountain with rough terrain and steep drops. Many people live on the road, including me, and travel the roads regularly with no problem, but I want to be transparent about the potential dangers. The house sits on a mountain cliff with an unprotected steep drop. We advise extreme caution when bringing children.The house itself is on a mountain overlooking Playa Garza & Playa Guiones. It is 2 miles from the beaches of Garza ( 8-12 min drive) and 7 miles to the beaches of Guiones (20 min drive), this area is what most people know as NOSARA. I usually use the Guilded Iguana Beach resort as my “pin” when heading to town, because its centrally located and right off the beach. Access to the property is best by SUV or ATV, as the unpaved mountain roads can be rough on low to the ground rental cars. The Perch — or "Posada de Pajaros" — is a spacious, airy, newly-built home on a slice of mountainside hanging over the Buena Vista river and the sweep of the Pacific Ocean. Breezes are nearly constant. The views are varied and assertive. Iguanas peer back at you from treetops, troops of monkeys traipse overhead, and birds and butterflies sweep by in abundance. A place to relax, feel at home while away, and a basecamp from which to explore stunning Guanacaste.The Space:The architect's vision for this house envisioned a tree-house/bird's nest, with breezes passing from all directions and providing a natural respite from the Guanacaste heat. Now only 10 minutes to Garza and 20 minutes to Nosara on the newly paved route 160.The road from Samara up to the house, like many roads in Guanacaste, is rough. There is a river to cross during the dry season (Dec-April), so a 4x4 is recommended. In the rainy months between May and late-November, the river is usually uncrossable and it takes 20-25 minutes to drive to Samara (making Nosara a similar distance for shopping).
