Seasonal Japanese dishes focusing on Yuba. The inn stands nearby Shinkyo which provides tasty dishes.
"Most of the reviews are outdated so I thought I'd give an updated review. For one thing, there is WiFi (I have informed the landlady that the website indicates otherwise).
This place is a traditional-style inn. You'll be sleeping in a futon (some Google-fu should help you know how to use one), use two pairs of slippers (one for moving around the house, one exclusively for the toilet) and will also bathe in a Japanese-style shared bathroom. The front gate and bathroom close at 10pm, which is not an issue as everywhere in Nikko closes early and it's too dark to hike outdoors (in early Autumn).
We loved using the onsen to relax after a day of strolling around and hiking, and the delicious Japanese-style breakfast was lovingly prepared by a friendly old granny. The premises are old but well-maintained. Toilets, bathroom and onsen were great but we were there during off-peak season so we didn't need to share so much. Should we return to Nikko, this place will be our first choice!"

Fantastico
MMongkol SarapisuttHo avuto un soggiorno eccezionale a Nikko Stay House Arai, e lo apprezzerei perfetto 10/10. Dal momento in cui sono arrivato, mi sentivo proprio a casa. Le camere erano incredibilmente comode e avevano un'atmosfera calda e domestica che rendeva il mio soggiorno così piacevole.
La attenzione ai dettagli della progettazione e della decorazione lo fece sentire come una casa lontana da casa. Il personale era gentile e attento, sempre pronto ad assistere con un sorriso. La pulizia e la manutenzione delle strutture erano di prima qualità.
In generale, la mia esperienza non era altro che fantastica. Se stai cercando un posto che ti fa piacere, Nikko Stay House Arai è la scelta perfetta. Molto raccomandato!

UUtente ospiteThe guesthouse is quite a way from Nikko town (10-15 mins by bus / 1 hour walk) but is in a good location for getting to the shrines or to Lake Ashi - there's a bus stop close by. The guesthouse was homely and had 2 private onsen. Our room was comfortable enough although the en-suite was very tiny! The host was welcoming but didn't speak any English which meant we had to communicate by translating on our phones. We booked to have breakfast at the guesthouse, but didn't realise that for booking the dinner we needed to give 24 hours+ notice so missed out!

UUtente ospiteIl piccolo popolo giapponese ha troppe critiche. Ogni volta che si apre, è molto informativo e fortemente raccomandato. Le condizioni sanitarie e le strutture termiche sono conformi alle aspettative. La maggior sorpresa è la posizione, che si trova alla porta di un piccolo e unico pieno di ghiandole. Coloca il bagaglio. Una persona è andata a casa senza nessuno e si è presa rapidamente. L'orecchio è un rumore d'acqua. È una pizza seduto davanti a una serie di modi diversi, L'esperienza è misteriosa.Vai alla stazione, un po'difficile, tornare a giocare, il prezzo è accettabile, circa 1500 yen in un solo viaggio.

NNieva MayThe place is a 25-30 minute walk from the Tobu Nikko station, but you can actually take bus going there. However we didn't know the buses only run until 3 in the afternoon so we had no choice but to walk an uphill road. However it was a very fun experience and the hike was worth it as soon as we were able to take a rest in this humble pension house. The owner was very accommodating, gave us strawberry ice cream and even offered us a ride to the station the next morning. I would say that this place gave us the best definition of ”omotenashi”. Someday when we go back in Nikko , we'll surely stay here once again.

UUtente ospiteI went to Yumoto for hiking and found this wonderful place. The staffs are very helpful. Although, they cannot fully communicate in English. They are trying their best to make sure my stay is the best experience I have.
Room is clean and has no AC.
Breakfast and dinner are traditional Japanese course and I love them.
About Onsen, it might not be in the best condition but it is good enough.
If I have a chance to return to Nikko, I will stay at this place again.

UUtente ospitePension was cosy, clean and well equipped. Bath includes onsen. breakfast and dinner can be arranged with the host for a reasonable charge. It is quite a walk from the bus stop with rather uneven road if you have wheeled luggage. Owner was nice to give us a ride out (at her convenience) to the bus stop. View from room of Mt nantai is lovely and it is convenient to visit the waterfalls...especially yudaki which was the best in my opinion.

L'unico punto di sfondo è la posizione, perché è molto lontano dalla stazione ferroviaria. Tuttavia, per favore, provate a contattarli e cercate di chiederli di prendere voi.

Ttolyazek@mail.ruTutto è stato fantastico! Viviamo qui per tre giorni nell'aprile 2024. I ospiti sono molto amichevoli e attenti. Colazione e cena erano molto deliziosi e grandi, quindi non volevamo nemmeno mangiare durante la passeggiata in pomeriggio. La stanza è pulita e pulita. Il posto è tranquillo e bello. Vicino a un grande supermercato con tutto quello necessario. Il bus ferma al tramonto e il lago è anche molto vicino. Anche vicino è un pubblico disgusto, ci sono anche un buon riposo. In generale ci piaceva tutto molto! Grazie!
