"Most tourists who go to Nikko either come back and forth on the same day or stay in a hot spring hotel. If you have had enough of hot springs, then try this one. It is definitely a rare designer hotel in Japan, very special! Unlike the Ritz by Lake Chuzenji, where there are many tourists outside the window, here you live in a natural park, and there are only continuous mountains, green trees, waterfalls and streams outside the window. It is so beautiful and quiet. The dinner is Michelin-level French food, exquisite and delicious, and the wine selection is also good. It is strongly recommended to include a meal. It is very close to the train station, and it takes less than ten minutes to get there by taxi for 1,600 yen. The hotel has three free shuttle buses to the station in the morning. The employees have multiple roles. The designer is also the owner, the restaurant DJ, the waiter, and the driver. If there is anything, everyone shares it together. Whoever is free will do it. This kind of team feeling is very good. There is also a resident painter. You eat here and he paints there. He creates a work every night. It's wonderful."

"The hotel is around 10mins walk from Kinugawa-Onsen Station. Although there are many abandoned hotels, shops, residences, buildings around the surrounding area, I can still explore the area as the street lights are lit in the evening. The hotel is divided into different wings and occupies a large area. I stayed in the upper floors of the hotel’s main building (Kirakukan) but there’s an option to stay at the hotel’s park-cottages that is built on the cliff of the riverbank and overlooks the Kinugawa river. The Kinugawa Park Cottage is located separately further away from the main building. I only noticed a local Japanese family of four or five persons being escorted by the hotel staff to one of the cottages. Other than that one-off encounter, I didn’t see anyone else at the area around the cottage which is also super quiet. Likewise for the other wings of the hotel i.e. Kinoyakata and Kishintei, I didn’t see any guests maybe due to low season. Love the onsen and the private open-air bath, the traditional Japanese kaiseiki breakfast and dinner. There’s also a souvenir shop, ramen & snack shop as well as an outdoor swimming pool which I couldn’t use as it is only available for use come summer time. Just across the road from the hotel, there’s the Waterside Cafe Terrace, a 7-Eleven convenience store adjacent to the hotel and since there’s no self-service washing machine/dryer in the hotel, the nearest 24h laundromat is around a 5-min walk from the hotel located behind the Waterside Cafe Terrace and across the road facing “Galarie Cafe Painto E”. On the day of check-out, the hotel helped to store my luggage and I had lunch at “Suzukawa Cafe” just next to Galarie Cafe Painto E. The food prices here are slightly cheaper than the ones near Kinugawa-Onsen station."

"This property is very affordable and offers a lot for the price it demands. A 5mins walk to the Kinugawa Onsen station. The property is older but has all the amenities you need. There is an indoor onsen and a small outdoor one. Male and female sides don't change. You can also book a free session of private onsen. Breakfast and dinner are both buffets, nothing of high quality but there are a lot of selections to choose from. Best of all, the drinks, beers and spirits are complimentary too."

Situazione un po 'fuori dalla città, avrei bisogno di un'auto per arrivare qui per la comodità. Ma in generale un grande soggiorno e verrà consigliato!"

"Wow! This place was fantastic! The staff are all courteous and professional. The hotel rooms are really clean, and the atmosphere is so relaxing and tranquil. I really enjoyed the nature vibes, and the river view by the window is perfect! The sound of the water flow and birds chirping made it to be a great night's sleep. The morning scenery is even better. I have no complaints. It was a great place to stop and rest and admire your surroundings. Take advantage of the swimming pool and the hot springs. (FYI: No tattoos allowed in case you have any, so you won't be alarmed when you see the sign.) Otherwise, everything was great about my stay! ☺️"

"L'ostello BEST che ho mai soggiornato! Se stai nel lago Chuzenji a Nikko, devi rimanere qui. È un ostello all'interno di un hotel, quindi è molto pulito, sicuro e molto grande. Il personale è molto amichevole e tutto è sorprendente. Hanno un asciugamano gratuito + un soggiorno con bevande, tè, vino, caffè e bar di crema di ghiaccio che si può prendere! Anche hanno una microonde se ne ha bisogno e un distributore d'acqua calda. L'hotel è proprio davanti al lago, quindi sapete che avrete un buon tempo! La stazione di autobus è anche davanti e se si sta parcheggiando hanno abbastanza spazio! Devi venire qui, io torno qui!"

"This is a small in front of the lake. The bus ride from the Tobu Nikko station was wonderful. It took 45 minutes and the ride is to climb the mountain. So exciting. There was a bus stop in front of the hotel. Otherwise you should walk for ten minutes from the bus terminal. The room was cozy and there was a massage chair in the room. As soon as we arrived in the hotel, we rushed to the ferry terminal to take the last boat. The dinner and next morning breakfast are wonderful. Please don’t expect to much about onsen because it is a small hotel with indoor and outdoor hot pools. The hotel offers free coffee and tea the people staying in the hotel."
