Very nice place and great bar with log fire, so great during the winter evenings. The food only average with a small menu. Staff friendly and helpful during stay

Lovely place, fabulous & kind people, great drinks and food. We couldn't have had it any better. Great for the entire family and the dog. Quintessential English countryside, with a timely touch. Attention to detail in the rooms and the restaurant.

My sister & I stayed for a night on a four day trip through the Cotswolds. She was booked into the Shepherds Hut which she adored & I enjoyed an upgrade to a gorgeous Farmhouse Loft room including a bathroom with shower & freestanding bath. Lovely meal in the pub & great breakfast. The staff were exceptionally friendly & welcoming. Very few guests the night we stayed.

I had a great stay at the Artist Residence. The rooms were lovely, clean, and well-appointed, and the beds were really comfy. The residence was tucked away in a quiet village but within easy reach of Oxford. I also had dinner in the restaurant, which was delicious. Thanks for the great stay.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and cosy bedroom with lovely toiletries and bathrobe. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal in the evening. Great food and some local gin. Wish we had longer to spend enjoying the surrounding countryside. Will definitely be back. Thanks x

This is without doubt THE best hotel I have been to. The food is delicious. The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere but what really makes this place special are the staff who are so polite and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. A special mention must go to Amy, Louis and Rory who really looked after us and made all feel very special.

Lovely boutique hotel with fantastic food. Perfect for a stay in beautiful countryside and visit to Oxford. Easy drive to Park and Ride to visit Oxford. Peaceful and picture perfect location, lovely rooms including lovely Bramley products. We will be back.....thank you!

We previously stayed at another location for the Artist's Residence and loved it. This hotel felt as if someone had shown up ten years ago with some design ideas, and then never returned. Our room was not clean with a dirty rug on the floor, an unclean toilet and dusty window sills, which really ****** given that there was a heatwave when we stayed. There were no fans available (we were told that there were fans but they were all in use) which meant we had to sleep with the windows open and the smell of cigarette smoke from the garden below. Breakfast was odd, with cold toast, avocado that may have been frozen and patchy service. Our waiter was the same person who later came to make up our room (which was not really made up). They may have staff shortages but whatever the cause, I felt that the experience offered poor value and had plenty of niggles given the fact that we have stayed at other luxury hotels nearby for the same price with far better service.
