4 night stay for Vivid. Chose this as an Accor member and that it was close to the Harbour. Upgraded to a Prestige Suite, Club benefits and was not disappointed. Yes the building is not new, it’s not like the shiny new hotels in town, but it’s solid and my sleeps were uninterrupted and rarely heard noise from the hall. My Suite 930 was spacious, clean, well appointed, Sofitel Bed topper and electric sockets to plug in my adapters to charge. Like other reviews no USB ports but I’m sure most sensible travellers have an adapter. The Club Sofitel access was the perfect addition. Early check-in and waited with a hot tea while my suite was made up. It was 9:30am but the room was rushed and 30 minutes later I was unpacking. Evening canapés and drinks from 5:30pm. Table drink service by Alley and her dedicated, personable, attentive team. They remember your preferences pretty quickly and it became an oasis from Vivid hoping and sightseeing. My suite completely blocked out the light and slept through 2 alarms, it’s the Sofitel Bed topper. Breakfast at Club Sofitel, peaceful, plenty of options to choose from, salmon and capers to a great gluten free station, eggs cooked to order and a great way to start the day. Try the Dilmah Blood Orange and Eucalyptus tea. Thanks Lara. Afternoon Tea served from 2:30 and daily sandwiches , scones, cakes and complimentary drinks, tea, coffee and soft. On entering the Club Lounge, always a friendly greeting, your preferred drink served and a relaxing space anytime of the day. The Club team really made my stay, they work really hard to make your stay great. Housekeeping always made up my room before my afternoon return. Always a Bonjour as you walked past them in the hall. My stay was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The Lobby is grand and the history of this hotel makes her great. Not the newest but I prefer tradition and good honest service. Definitely not the style of hotel for everyone but my expectations were met and exceeded beyond imagination. Club Sofitel is a must. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

La colazione era eccellente e il topo del tetto era un posto per godere di un cocktail e vedere un spettacolo di sole, ma tutto è stato lasciato in sostanza da un sostegno estremamente insufficiente dalla direzione. Mia moglie ha perso i suoi occhiali all'hotel, che sono distinti in un quadro di design e sono in una scatola d'oro brillante. Durante il controllo, abbiamo chiesto al dipartimento se fossero stati trovati e se fossero stati detto che non erano stati consegnati, ma che la ricezione sarebbe stata controllata con il bar Aster, dove crediamo fossero stati lasciati ma era stato chiuso al momento del controllo. Eravamo destinati a essere a Sydney in 4 giorni e il ricevitore ha preso tutti i dettagli e una descrizione dei bicchieri e del caso e ha detto che mi avrebbe mandato un email per darmi un aggiornamento. Quattro giorni dopo, quando siamo tornati a Sydney, abbiamo controllato l'hotel non c'era alcuna nota contro la nostra prenotazione e il receptionista ha detto che non si poteva fare nulla, ma non poteva confermare se un controllo fosse stato fatto nel bar di tetto di Aster. Ho chiesto di parlare con il direttore del servizio e una signora irlandese, il cui nome purtroppo non mi è stato dato, è venuta a parlarmi. Era molto scusata e disse che non era il normale standard che si aspettava dall'hotel e promise di parlare con il personale di Aster e di tornare a me per posta elettronica prima della fine della giornata. Purtroppo non si è proceduto a nessuna ulteriore comunicazione e non è stata risolta alcuna risposta. Sappiamo che la perdita è stata colpa nostra, ma la mancanza di interesse da parte del personale e la mancanza di promesse vuote e vuote da parte della direzione ci dissuaderebbero di rimanere ancora lì. Sembra che la gestione non abbia alcun interesse a promuovere la soddisfazione dei clienti.

I had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Although an argument can be made about eclecticism and the use of curating a collection of exceptional vintage and contemporary objects this was not the case here, it read as a mismatched bric-à-brac (to borrow a Victorian word from the building time period that's true meaning in French means ”any old way” or ”at random”). While the room was stunning and front desk staff were very hospitable and were awesome to prepare some chocolates and a card for my daughter as it was her birthday (they fulfilled my request), I feel the housekeeping staff could use some improvement. I had to call the reception, almost daily, to ask for 2 dental kits. I figured if I was staying for 5 nights AND called for it the 1st 2 nights, the rest of the nights would be provided automatically as I am sure the housekeeping department has a guest list as well. Another thing is that the room, while it was tidied up when I indicated ”Make Up Room”, it was not CLEANED. There was no sweeping and mopping for my entire stay nor was the dining table wiped. I used the cooking utensils to boil milk for my daughter. Doing that would leave a layer/film of milk at the bottom of the pot. I'd hand scrub it clean to use again. The room attendants would place it in storage/cabinets without checking if it was clean. That's absolutely disgusting and very unsafe as the milk can go bad and re-using that pot for more milk might contaminate the fresh milk. I'd leave certain areas unclean to check on the level of details and cleanliness during my stay, and unfortunately, my suspicions came true. At the end of it all, I'd stay again for sure!! Truly a hidden gem that is perfect for adults and those bored by the standard fare of Sydney hotels in the CBD (and indeed hotels worldwide), the Establishment is there for people who want some luxury, peace and a different vibe, whilst being given direct access to one of the best bars and restaurants in town. I'm pleased the reviews here don't give it 5-stars, because it really should be reserved for those looking for a different experience - noting I've stayed there for both personal and business reasons and never tire of how I feel once I walk through the understated doors of the hotel.

Molto utile receptionist! La stanza era pulita e temperata, anche incredibilmente grande! La posizione era facile accesso alla stazione ferroviaria con treni che vanno a est e in città. Sicuramente consiglia!

We had an amazing experience at this hotel before flying out for our wedding. My fiancé’s family is from the US, and I had been showing them around Sydney, however due to the limited time we had one night stay in the Blue Mountains before returning to stay with the hotel. The FO manager allowed us to store our large luggage at the hotel because we had not the car space for the luggage going up to the mountains. The service attendants were, kind, prompt and considerate. The design of the interior of the hotel is very different for a Pullman, and when we went up to our room we had a handmade card from the reception staff wishing us well for our big day! They accompanied this lovely gesture with macaroons and a room upgrade. Being stressed about this part of our itinerary, I had a lot of communication with the staff and they were very helpful, always offering thorough and convenient suggestions. Thank you Pullman, looking forward to staying with you again!

Best view in the world , even better customer service and bar much more attentive really enjoy visiting here but feel this year it was even better just a great location , friendly staff from concierge through to the guys at the rear entrance just great

I was in transit from Australia to Singapore on the next day, to stay overnight to have a good night's sleep near the airport this hotel is very close to the airport and makes it very convenient for transit.
