Highly recommended! This hotel is featured in the list of Telegraph hotels in Lyon, so I had high hopes although reading the reviews before I arrived left me wondering - in fact, I had a lovely stay in a perfectly located hotel, the room was small but the bed was excellent, everything was very clean, and the bathroom was stocked with plenty of fluffy towels and l'Occitane products. The room was serviced every day, the street was quiet and the windows opened on to a terrace. I brought my own travel kettle: as expected there was none supplied (I would have expected one in a 4-star hotel but hotels in France often don't offer kettles). Staff were friendly and helpful: there is a good atmosphere in and around the stylish reception area. We dined once in the hotel, which was fine - the decor in the dining area is great. We passed on breakfast as 18 euros is a bit steep (especially as I have to eat gluten free) and there are so many other options in the general area. The location is excellent, both for public transport and for wandering around. Lots of upmarket shops and streets to get lost in. I would certainly return to Globe et Cecil. Just a few tips if you are looking for GF food in the area: Natur'Hall was a great find, and if you are looking for vegetarian fine dining, Culina Hortus is unmissable, while la Poissonerie is idea for fish/ seafood.

L'hotel è in generale OK, tranne per il povero stato del tessuto nella mia stanza, ma sono molto insoddisfatto della politica dei prezzi. Dopo aver prenotato 3 notti sul sito IHG il giorno stesso di arrivo, ho ricevuto un costo almeno 40€ più di quello postato fuori dall'hotel. Da quando le prenotazioni su Internet dovrebbero essere più del 10% più costosi per le passeggiate? Quindi, se vedi ”il miglior prezzo garantito”, è una bugia palese!

Accoglienza perfetta, Wilma simpatica e molto cortese. Camera, Suite 715, spaziosa e adatta x una famiglia di 4 persone ma con bimbi più piccoli in quanto il materasso del divano letto risulta scomodo perché sottile e duro. Letto Kingston invece spazioso ovviamente ma un pò duro. 2 bagni separati, in uno doccia+vasca+lavandino , l'altro water+lavandino. Come però temevo anche in un hotel di questo livello, 4 stelle, l'assenza del bidet è inconcepibile. In Francia evidentemente non è un sanitario di cui sentono putroppo la mancanza. Ottima la colazione per tutti i gusti!! Non c'è proprio motivo di lamentarsi. Personale estremamente gentile e disponibile. Ottimo hotel nel complesso. Crowne e Mercure: due pianeti davvero diversi x i quali non capisco l'assegnazione delle stesse stelle perchè non paragonabili.
