I arrived at the hotel on 20 November 2022 for a 5 night stay. The stay was business related and with so many hotels to choose from, I decided to go with the Porto Palacio. What an excellent choice! The hotel is absolutely brilliant - I cannot find a fault. Check-in was very smooth and on arrival to the room - wow - very modern, crisp clean sheets on the bed and a spacious room. In terms of food, the Breakfast experience was the best part of the stay for me. I have stayed in many hotels around the world - both on a personal basis and a business basis - I can honestly say that the breakfast staff at the Porto Palacio are the best I've ever come across. On arrival, I was seated quickly. On Day 1, the staff members memorised what I had that cannot be chosen by the buffet - for example, a tea and two plates (as I like two plates) - on Days 2 and for the rest of the trip, I didn't even need to ask. I was called by my Title and Surname on arrival. The whole experience was brilliant. I would like to mention a lady called Rosa and another lady (they both greet staff members at the door) - their hospitality skills are great and they are always smiling - nothing is too much for them. I didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening but had room service as personally, I like to relax after a day at the office. The food was of good quality and was tasty and piping hot. I used the gym during my stay - the gym is open to members of the public, therefore is not your usual hotel gym. It's huge - there are loads of machines and I was never waiting for someone to finish using something. Staff members are friendly. All in all - a brilliant stay and is a genuine 5 star hotel! I will return to the Porto Palacio both on a business basis and also on a personal basis - Porto looks like a great city! It's a shame that I didn't have time to look around as I had a busy schedule but I will certainly be back! Thank you!!

Comincio col dire che l'hotel è molto grande, spaziose camere,colazione ottima c'è molto salato e anche dolci Tutto buono. Nel bagno scarsi prodotti. Solo grandi flaconi con dosatore. Mancava un blocco con penna, mancavano le ciabattine da bagno, anche il frigo bar scarso di bevande. Un po' povero in questo senso. Poi il personale non parlava una sola parola di italiano. E poi dulcis in fundo: decisamente lontano dal centro, dal Douso, dalla Ribeira, dell'oceano. Abbiamo sempre preso taxi per spostarci. Anche 4 volte al giorno.Insomma scomodo davvero!

Le camere sono pulite e relativamente spaziose, e interessanti abbastanza, dano una bottiglia di vino complimentare ai membri dell'elite, cosa che non ho mai visto in altri Marriotts. Il personale è uno dei più amichevoli che abbia mai visto, ognuno prende il suo tempo per assicurarsi di avere un soggiorno confortevole. Uno dei membri, Miguel, se ricordo correttamente il suo nome, ci ha dato molti suggerimenti su ciò che esplorare a Porto. Non c'è molto da descrivere, consiglio molto a chiunque cerca di soggiornare a Porto. L'unico problema leggero è che gli ascensori non sembrano sempre funzionare correttamente, ma è un problema minimo perché si prendono cura di esso rapidamente.

Do not be put off by the reviews for this hotel. Our experience was really good and with a little planning this could be the ideal hotel for your Porto stay. The hotel is a solid 5* and I spend a lot of times in good hotels. The bar area down stairs is comfortable and a nice place for a pre or post dinner drink. The cheapest decent wine we came across during our stay at Porto was here @ less than 4€ a glass! The executive room we stayed in was immaculate, large and with a very comfy bed. The views from the 12th floor were wonderful overlooking the river. There are two swimming pools and whilst the one on the roof was too chilly for a dip during the day at night it made for a very chilled area to drink. The other pool is above the gym on the 1st floor and it’s nice that there are dressing gowns in the bedroom so you can just go down from your room without having to walk across reception. The restaurant offers a buffet and a La carte. Neither were anything special and we only ate here once. The breakfast was much better with loads of choice and decent scrambled eggs! One of the best things was how cheap Uber are in Porto. You need them as there is nothing around the hotel and it’s not safe to be walking around at night here. 5€ To Porto, 7€ to Mastohinos and around 20€ to the airport makes travelling to places quick and cheap. Days out: If after a few days in central Porto and Gaia you are looking for other lovely places to go I would highly recommend going to these places: Mastohinos - 7€ in Uber and only 15 minutes from the hotelfor beautiful beaches, a lovely park and some of the best seafood restaurants in Portugal. Guimaraes: 7.5€ return on train from Sao Bento railway station. A beautiful medieval town with beautiful cheap dining, castles, palaces a cable car and more churches than you can imagine. If you do go here PLEASE try the pregos at Pregaria de Guimaraes. They are truly amazing and outshone for me anything I tried in Porto.

This hotel is just as beautiful as the pictures. Besides having incredible views from the pool and restaurant, they also really paid attention to all of the details. The rooms are gorgeous and really thoughtfully decorated, there are two large pools, the lounge areas near the pools are really comfortable, and breakfast each morning was fantastic. It's also super centrally located--we we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. More than anything, the staff at this hotel were so welcoming and friendly--Paolo especially made us feel right at home and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay.

Stai 4 notti al arrivo a Porto. Per un hotel a 3 stelle la proprietà è molto pulita e tranquilla. Check-in è stato facile. Le camere sono pulite e offrono un armadio con cassaforte, un caldo e un servizio tè/caffee, un piccolo frigo che è memorizzato ma è ancora spazio per mettere una birra, una bottiglia di vino o un bidet. Diverse uscite, ma nessun porto USB. Il bagno ha un bidet. La doccia aveva una buona pressione idrica. E' in realtà una combinazione tubo/doccia. L'unica cosa mancante era lavaggio. Non ne ho trovato uno in nessuno dei miei hotel portoghesi. Il colazione è eccellente, inizia a 7. Varie opzioni, dalle uova ai pancake, piatti laterali, così tanti pane fresco, cereali, favoloso caffè, succo fresco. La porta successiva è una 3a boutique con un servizio completo di grandezza americana magazzino per comprare acqua, snack, vino ecc a prezzi molto economici. Un isolato è il Mercado Bom Success, un ristorante alimentare di scala. Ci siamo mangiati lì due volte. L'hotel si trova in una zona chiamata Villa Nova, a 30-40 minuti a piedi dal centro storico. La metropolitana è a 10-15 minuti, la fermata Casa de Musical, che vi porterà al centro storico in 15 minuti. Rimarrei qui se mai a Porto.

The Portus Cale Hotel exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean everywhere. Our room was quiet snd spacious, the bed was very comfortable with nice bed linen and good pillows. The bathroom was huge, the water was always hot and there was Dove hand-wash and shower gel. provided. The air con was very quiet and efficient. There was a small fridge and a kettle (take your own tea bags and coffee). The double glazing was very effective and blocked out the street noise below. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were room only so can't comment on the breakfast. There are 2 large supermarkets 5 minutes walk away. There's a lovely tea room next door, open to 11 pm, selling cakes and light meals. It's very popular with the locals. So is the little grill restaurant next door, and there's a nice Italian restaurant 5 minutes walk away. Although it's a 45 minute walk to the historic centre of Porto, there are many regular buses from virtually outside the door, and the Casa Musica metro station is just 10 minutes walk away. The bus fare is 5 euros for 2 people no matter how far you go on the buses. The buses are cash only unless you've bought a travel pass. The nearest beach (Praia Inglesias) is a short bus ride away. We would highly recommend The Portus Cale Hotel and we preferred its location away from the noise and crowds of central Porto.

Susana, Antonio and Paula were helpfulness itself. The guest house is a beautiful conversion of a traditional old Porto house. High ceilings and polished wooden floors. A great breakfast served by Paula with home made pasteles de nata. Delicious. Just across the road is the landmark Casa da Música, a music venue and cultural centre with a great café serving top notch coffee and food. The guest house is convenient for all sights including the must visit Park and Museum Serralves which is a 10 minute bus ride away. It is also extremely easy to get to from the airport on the direct Metro line. €2.60 one way at time of writing. I will be back!!!

I really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was kind and courteous. The breakfast was available, was simple but effective. Luckily the rooms were comfortable. If you enjoy walking or taking the bus, this is a great space for you filled with nature and a beautiful view.

L'hotel non è centrale ma vicino ci sono diversi autobus che raggiungono il cuore della città in 10/15minuti. L'hotel, abbastanza nuovo, è pulito e ordinato e si trova all'interno di un mercato con diversi punti per mangiare dalla mattina alla sera. Purtroppo la ns camera dava proprio sulla parte del mercato e la sera era abbastanza rumorosa. Colazione fornita ma più salato che dolce. Il personale molto cordiale e disponibile
