Roost Midtown

I have nothing negative to say about Roost Midtown. My partner and I spent five days in Philadelphia for an international football (soccer) event. The central location was perfect for all of our needs. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The one bedroom apartment was clean, well laid out, and comfortable. It was great to be able to walk (or bike) to the local markets and cook "at home" in the evenings. Having hotel services available, while staying in a comfortable and spacious apartment, without the hassles of AirBnB checkouts, has me sold on apartment hotels. Thank you for an excellent stay, Roost Midtown.

Large apartment-style space with separate bedroom. Lending library on the same floor also had games. Full gym available on the roof, but indoors. Helpful concierges directed us to restaurants nearby. Great location a short walk from many destinations.

Had an amazing time at ROOST Midtown. The front desk was friendly and knowledgable about the area. Was a great place to stay with my family during a renovation at our home. Felt like I never left home!

This place is amazing! Walking distance to everything. Clean and beautiful. And customer service was absolutely amazing! 5 stars! Will absolutely be staying here again and you should too

Location location location! My stay was comfortable, quiet, and very convenient to Center City attractions. Would recommend.

After getting in closer to midnight, I walk into my unit and it couldn’t have been more disgusting. Stained sheets, stains on the walls, torn up carpet, like nobody gave a crap at all. I should have just stayed at a hotel. Such a disappointment from Roost east market where I typically stay at. Won’t be back.

Furniture and carpets stained. Bathroom floor dirty upon arrival. Wall to wall carpeting should be torn out.

I'd always planned to visit Philly when I lived in NY, but knew I wanted to check it off my travel list once I moved away from the North East. When I discovered Roost I was intrigued by the sort of hybrid Hotel-Airbnb experience that it promised, and for the most part it delivers. Lots of space, and a more immersive way to feel like you're apart of the city without having to rely on the competence of an Airbnb host. However, that did comes with a few flaws— The A/C in my room never quite got cold at night, which I couldn't quite tell if it was a bug or a feature. Just a slight annoyance that I didn't feel was worth getting maintenance involved in case it turned into a whole thing. The building is a little on the older side, but the furnishings and appliance all felt up to date. The most disappointing aspect though was the cleanliness. This isn't so much a review to single Roost out, as it is just a general feeling of disappointment that from hotels, to Airbnbs and everything in between, it seems like this is the one aspect that everyone cuts the most corners on. When I first arrived I was wowed by the size and what seemed like attention to detail, but the longer I stayed I began to notice little things that had likely been overlooked by the last cleaning cycle or several. The reason I still rate this a 4/5 is because as I've only stayed here once (and likely will try Roost again in another city), this could just be a room that got overlooked. Not an excuse, but something to consider as I had a little trouble with housekeeping in general. Overall, it's a great location and a great building with some minor corrections that would put it over the top with a little more care.
