Perouges: hotel con bar

Hotel La Berengere is easy to find, on the right just after the first roundabout as you enter Perouges (and before the left turn up to old Perouges village). If you don’t have a Satnav it might be slightly difficult as the hotel is hidden behind a high hedge. Parking is plentiful. Although we were an hour early, the charming lady let us book into our room, which is what I’d describe as plain and functional, but perfectly comfortable and with a very smart en-suite. The lobby area in reception is smart and comfortable and there is also a nice patio and pool area. The hotel is situated just on the edge of Meximieux and is a comfortable 20 minute walk into the old village of Perouges. Meximieux is where you will find all the usual facilities but if you like a beer in the evening I warn you that there aren’t many bars in town. I found two - L’Aquarelle and the Lion d’Or (the latter being very good) which are both no more than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. You can, of course, get beer in the hotel. Breakfast was very good and, in addition to fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals etc, there was a decent selection of cold meats, cheeses and hard boiled eggs all served with plenty of bread and croissants. Although the coffee was from a machine it was actually OK. We enjoyed our stay here and would certainly use the hotel again.

Sono rimasto qui una notte con mia moglie nell'aprile 2024. Anche se sapevo che le camere sono situate in un edificio medievale, è ancora sorpreso che il riscaldamento nella camera fosse completamente inadeguato. I radiatori di ferro enormi erano in continuazione, anche se erano ”sconvolti” sull'ingresso e molto ”freddo” sull'uscita, con qualsiasi riscaldamento perso in una stanza molto obesa che non si riscaldava affatto. La mia richiesta alla ricezione è caduta sulle orecchie sordi, perché non è stato fatto nulla per risolvere il problema. Era 5 gradi C fuori e non molto più caldo all'interno. Sarebbe stato meglio mettere a pieno rischio per un paio di ore al mattino e lo stesso giorno, ma basso tempo tutto il giorno solo rifiuti per tutti. Soprattutto quando si paga 187 euro per la stanza solo., nessun colazione. Questo tipo di ambiente periodo è bello quando il suo 20 gradi C fuori ma non quando è in inverno condizioni. Abbiamo lasciato 'molto presto' la mattina dopo senza colazione e abbiamo goduto il calore della macchina ...Le crack e la forma nel bagno era ricordante di un hotel 2 stelle non uno che prezzi come mostrato sopra.
