Review of Taj Chia Kutir, Darjeeling We stayed at Taj Chia Kutir, Darjeeling, from 15th to 17th February 2025 to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. While the property itself is stunning and the overall stay was pleasant, our experience was significantly marred by poor service coordination, which ruined our special occasion. Service Disappointment Before our arrival, our travel agent coordinated with Mr. Rishi, the F&B Manager, regarding a special anniversary dinner, estimated to cost around ₹25,000. We were advised to connect with him upon arrival, which we did. Mr. Rishi assured us that he would make arrangements and get in touch with us. He even mentioned sharing his contact number, but he never did. Neither did he reach out to us nor did he arrange anything, leading to a complete disappointment. This lack of communication and follow-through showed a serious disregard for guest experience, which is unexpected from a brand like Taj. Other Aspects of the Stay • Property & Ambience: The resort itself is beautiful, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. • Food: The food was average at best, with a limited spread. For a luxury property, we expected a more diverse and high-quality culinary experience. • Service: Apart from the anniversary dinner mishap, the overall service was decent, but not exceptional. Final Verdict Taj Chia Kutir offers a picturesque setting, but the lack of attention to guest requests and poor service coordination left a bitter taste. For a special occasion, we wouldn’t recommend relying on their team for event arrangements. While the stay was comfortable, this service failure overshadowed our experience. If you’re visiting for a casual getaway, you might enjoy it, but if you’re expecting top-notch service for a special occasion, think twice.

We reached the hotel after a long day of travelling and were looking to take a nice hot shower. However the water heater was not working that day. The staff were very helpful and suggested us that they would supply hot water buckets but this was not a practical solution to the problem as we were more comfortable with having a shower rather than taking pots of water from the bucket and bathing. The second day the same issue continued and it seemed and the temperature increased a bit to lukewarm but not enough for us as we wanted a higher temperature as available in other hotels in the and around the region but not at this hotel. It was really disappointing that till the end they were not able to fix this issue. Finally on the second evening without any alternative we requested for the buckets of water and had our baths which was sheerly out of necessity. In addition to this the heater would be switched off remotely at times and would be turned on ”automatically” after we complained to their front desk. If you happen to wake up in the middle of the night to check your messages etc on Whatsapp you should not be surprised to see the Wifi turned off. We noticed this on two consecutive nights. The breakfast was great, staff were helpful especially the lady and the gentleman who brought us the buckets of hot water, special thanks to them. I had booked 2 nights through our tour operator and one additional night in a higher room class before coming here. Looking at the issues we asked the front desk that we were thinking of checking out after the two nights and wanted to be refunded. He said he will check with his manager and look at options of their other property in Darjeeling itself where he said there wouldn't be hot water issues etc, and will come back to me. He didn't come back and we did not have the energy to push it further with them as the weather was very cold and we did not want further hassles.

This is a lovely hotel well positioned with excellent views, lovely terraces with hundreds of flowers, really well designed rooms and public spaces. The staff are all excellent very welcoming and service level extremely high Parveen mixes amazing cocktails and was very attentive. The food was excellent both the buffet and off the menu. Housekeeping, nothing was a problem and if the temperature drops they bring hot water bottles and set a real fire in your room. We loved relaxing in the library over tea after a hectic day in fascinating Darjeeling. Highly recommended.

Stayed 13th to 14th May 2024 , 3 Rooms As everywhere it is known first experience is the best experience but my Experience in Barsana is very bad with Front Office Team, I booked with Agoda for 6 adults and 1 kid but by mistake room is booked for 3 adults 3 rooms. My brother requested them to give rooms key till agoda reverts back or else I will pay the amount they asked for 3000 rs in the morning but they denied to give me the key , issues was more we travelled for 7 hours and for with females and kids. my question is when I already paid for 3 rooms for 3 adults they would have allowed atleast 3 person if not 6 but they denied. why after paying Rs 9100 they have not given me the Key. I never been to any star hotel which ask complete payments before checkin, advance is still ok even I paid for 3 rooms and. 3 adults but this hotel asked 100% of Rs 3000 payments to give me a key for extra 3 person. it was very embarassing situation while travelling with a family almost waited for 1 hours to get the key only after Agoda replied to pay 500 person + GST to be paid for each extra person. after getting a room mosquitos not allowed to sleep in the night due to early morning checked out stayed only for 8 hours paid almost 11k for 3 rooms. Overall ambience of Hotel ,food , rooms ambience , Location , staff in Restaurent was very good.

This was my 3rd visit to summit montana suits and spa darjeeling. I love staying in this hotel. Stayed in presidential suite. Staff very supportive and well mannered. Room service good. Room was lovely. Less than 5 minutes walking distance from mall road. Location is perfect. Hotel above rink mall. View from room is mesmerizing. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

The great hospitality provided by Roshan Kumar, sagar , Renuka , Silas, Nikita, very polite, great hospitality, keep it up, they are very helpful in nature , chai tapri is the best part to take experience, well maintained hotel, Restaurant is awesome, party is awesome Thankyou

Stayed here for 2 nights. And I'll give the real picture. Good things first... 1) Room was perfect as per the amount I paid. Eventually, they upgraded me even before I asked for it. Room had all amenities one might need during a stay 2) Behaviour of the entire team is awesome. They served me with a smile... Every single time. And they never said NO for any of my requests. Now, few serious stuffs to look into.... 1) Location, which is 1 Km from Darjeeling Mal, While Keventers & Mahakal Chowk are 500 mts. And you don't get any view from the room 2) They have communication issues, perhaps language barrier. On Day-2 I requested to replenish the complimentary drinking water. But IRD team member arrived with packaged drinking water. But again, their behaviour is damn good. He took that back & catered to my actual request 3) This was troublesome. I was supposed to check out at 0730 Hrs. And my room was with breakfast. I informed the Front Desk about the scenario in the previous evening. The ever friendly lady at the desk confirmed me that although Breakfast won't be available at that time, but she'll send sandwiches for me which I was Ok with. But when I called the desk at 6AM in the morning, the guy was clueless. He paid a courtesy visit to the room & said the message of providing sandwiches wasn't passed to him.... Again communication laps Overall the hotel is good & recommended. But don't book your room with breakfast if you have early morning departure.
