Adorable boutique hotel in the heart of a famous street. Be warned that the staff speaks very little English and some staff don’t know a word. That being said, this is a hotel worth breaking out Google Translate, especially if you are a solo traveler. The rooms are small but adequate. Bedding very comfortable. The lighting needs improvement as it’s a bit dark in the rooms but the location can’t be beat. Avenue Montaigne is a safe area with high end shops and within walking distance to many major attractions. There is a small restaurant on site with a limited but excellent menu. It’s a sexy and cozy place to have a coffee or a drink at night as well. The staff tries hard to be welcoming, and I found myself sad to say good bye, although the language barrier remained the entire time. I did need medical assistance and it took 2 days of trying to get help from the front desk before I turned to the embassy for direction. On the 3rd day, the sweetest front desk staff came on duty and was able to assist but prior to that, I was near tears because the hotel wasn’t helping me. When the manager found out, she was very attentive and that meant a lot, but I would say there needs to be more training of the staff as to how to help guests and for them to be more aware when a guest seems to be in distress. As a solo female traveler, it makes me think I should find a bigger hotel with a concierge next time. Still, I have a fondness for the Hotel Montaigne and this was my second stay there. It’s just such a cozy hotel in a great location.
