Abbiamo visitato per la prima volta per qualche giorno Oxford con la famiglia. Ci siamo trovati in questo hotel estremamente buono: buon servizio, molto buon colazione, (il tè alto sembrava anche piacevole, ma purtroppo non siamo arrivati a questo). Il servizio era molto amichevole e flessibile: una sera i bambini volevano mangiare un po' di piccoli IPV nel ristorante e sono stati installati immediatamente nel bar e hanno potuto scegliere quello che volevano mangiare (sceglievano una pasta e un toast ham/cheese). Inoltre, molto centrale. Un consigliere!

Hotel situato in buona posizione, il palazzo si presenta bene all’esterno mostrando un carattere storico. Gli spazi comuni all’interno (hall, scale, ascensore, corridoi) sono poco illuminati, con arredamento troppo scuro, pesante e vetusto (non antico!). La stanza era piccola e certamente non all’altezza degli standard di un 5 stelle: moquette macchiata, muri sporchi e rovinati, lenzuola e copriletto non stirati, gli infissi in legno delle finestre erano scrostati e rovinati, il bagno troppo piccolo sebbene pulito e funzionale. Perfino la porta di ingresso alla stanza era storta, così come il pavimento e la porta dell’armadio. La vista della camera affacciava su un cortile interno maltenuto. A ciò si aggiunge la mancanza di cura dei dettagli, altro requisito essenziale di un hotel a 5 stelle. Unica caratteristica in linea con un hotel 5 stelle è il prezzo. In definitiva, questo non è per niente un hotel 5 stelle, chi cerca tale tipologia di hotel deve dirigersi altrove; questo hotel può andare bene a chi cerca un hotel 3 stelle, spartano e senza pretese ma con un prezzo assai elevato per ciò che offre. Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and it was nice to have extra pillows and blankets in the room, if needed. Bathroom was nice and towels were fluffy! The little extras like bottled water, hot chocolate and cookies were a nice touch. The location was great...very close to the train station, which was the deciding factor to book this hotel. We were not disappointed! The little restaurant located off the lobby served a delicious breakfast!

On the plus side…very clean rooms with friendly, helpful staff. Close to the city centre (10min walk) and train station (3min walk). Reasonable rates, especially for a city. Tasty breakfast with chance to upgrade to a cooked option. On the minus side….rather dated, with maintenance needed on the shower(we had to tie the shower head into position as it kept falling down). The extractor fan didn’t work and with no window in the shower it did become a bit treacherous in there! Some of the sockets didn’t work properly and were in odd places so to plug in the kettle it had to go on the floor! There was some work going on outside with the railway bridge which meant the workmen directing pedestrians arrived early about 6am until 10pm and would shout loudly outside our window to their colleagues so I was glad of my trusty earplugs especially as we had a heatwave at the time and needed all the windows open. We did have a fan in the room thankfully. Would I stay there again?….maybe… but not in the heat of the summer without air conditioning.

Il centro storico di San Francisco è un hotel molto bello con un buon bar e un buon ristorante. Solo una denuncia - se non sei un fan del caffè capsula (e io non sono certamente) e vuoi solo una tazza di tè, è doloroso dover google la macchina del caffè per scoprire come usarlo quando solo una semplice cottura sarebbe stata buona. Solo 4 per la posizione a causa del caos sul ponte stradale Botley che sta per andare fino a questa volta almeno l'anno prossimo!

A friend and I had planned to go to Oxford to celebrate Mayday in 2020 but the pandemic meant this didn’t happen. In November 2022 my friend tried to book into the same place but it was full. There weren’t many rooms available and he booked us into the Ali Inn based on the photos. Neither of us read a review until the day before when I did. The majority of the reviews were poor but as we had no choice we arrived not expecting what to find and somewhat concerned. However There was someone to meet us Our room was clean and tidy. There were sufficient towels, toiletries and tea and coffee. Because of Mayday prices had increased everywhere and the Ali Inn was no different but at £260 for 2 nights wasn’t bad. It is a budget hotel. It is centrally located which is good. There is noise as there is a pub opposite and the theatre beneath it. It is a number of rooms up stairs and adjacent to a sandwich business run by the same people. The owner? Manager? Was very amenable helpful and friendly. The room was a good size as was the toilet and shower room. Definitely good for budget travellers who don’t mind noise. Ideal location very central and close to the bus station. Clean. Big towels too! Bed slightly soft and that’s the only slight criticism I have.

Molto molto fondamentale. Molto poco cura in generale. La stanza era ok, ma piccola e stufata. Decorazione scendeva . Corridori crampi e sbattuti. Desk era senza equipaggio, doveva bussare per ottenere il personale lungo la strada dal loro “sorella” hotel. Sembravano disinteressati. Little local knowledge. Wall paper thin. Quando sono andato via la mattina, sono andato in un sito di costruzione - tutta la sezione, compresa la porta anteriore, era stata tagliata fuori dai lavoratori - che mi hanno urlato per non aver indossato un cappello duro 😂 sarebbe stato bello ottenere una testa dall'hotel questo era sono stati fatti. È stato economico, ma non rimarrò più.

Il parcheggio è stato disponibile in frontiera, sono stati presi i 2 posti di parcheggio indietro, è un po' difficile da invertire. Abbiamo avuto una delle camere di letto in frontiera, ha strutture in suite e è stata adeguata alle nostre esigenze; l'unico svantaggio è che la strada principale è molto rumorosa. Il colazione è buono, con una buona scelta di cereali, insieme ai croissants, tostapane e una macchina del caffè molto buona.È un 15-20 minuti a piedi nel centro della città, anche se abbiamo usato principalmente il servizio di autobus, che corre ogni 10 minuti. Abbiamo fatto il ”gratuito” tour in città che è stato molto buono, in generale abbiamo davvero goduto il nostro viaggio a Oxford.

I enjoyed my stay at Central Backpackers. It's a small, compact hostel so it's pretty easy to start up a conversation with someone if you feel like it. The room (8 bed female dorm) was super spacious, and it was great to have power sockets and a light for each bed. Hostel was clean, showers were nice, but one of the toilets always seemed to have an issue with flushing (toilet within shower room by dorm 7). Kitchen was small but seemed like it had everything you'd need if you wanted to cook. Movie room was small but cosy. Great location, 5 mins from train station and easy walk to main attractions.

Quando siamo arrivati all'hotel, abbiamo scoperto che avevamo effettuato una doppia prenotazione per errore. Quando abbiamo parlato con il direttore, nello spirito di cercare una soluzione amichevole e reciprocamente vantaggiosa per il nostro errore inavvertito, il signor Jay Sicyp ha perso il suo temperamento prima di finire ciò che dovevamo dire, e minaccia di ”rimuoverci” mentre getta il suo fiato sul desk. Questo comportamento aggressivo non vale la pena di un hotel a Oxford, in realtà ovunque nel mondo. Siamo nei sessanta e questo è stato di gran lunga il peggiore, e il nostro unico disumano, Se la direzione superiore di questo hotel dovesse leggere questa recensione, dovrebbero avvertire il signor Jay Sicyp di ripetere questo tipo di comportamento e fare qualcosa per cambiare la cultura aziendale come si riflette nel In considerazione del numero eccezionalmente elevato di valutazioni negative, tale riforma sembra essere molto temporanea.
