Grids Premium Hotel Otaru

The hotel does not provide daily cleaning. Cleaning is done,once in three days. As a result, we had to clear our own trash everyday because the bins provided were simply too small and insufficient for accumulating three days worth of trash. This hotel is not advisable for traveller stay more than 2 days or long stay There are only two washing machines in the hotel. Both machines are constantly in use (70 to 80 percent) most of the time. We had to wait very a few hours, at times waking up in the middle of the night just to secure a slot to use the washing machine. Rooms are modern but not very large. The only consolation is the hotel’s relatively close proximity to the shopping street.

Travel with family of 2 kids Their staff are not friendly at all and try to avoid at all cost. Especially the lady who duty on noon around 3pm on 1/6. Amenities you need to get at lobby which is not ordinary for a hotel setup. This hotel make me avoid to come back Otaru. PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL

We stayed a night and chosen grid as a base as it's well situated in the middle of Otaru. - We checked in in the evening after a long day out. I was trying to get my family to offload the bags and check in first, hotel staff saw us and approached us at the parking lot, we thought it's impressive for staff to have noticed us and came forward to help and direct us but we were quick to jump to conclusion. Instead of assisting us, the staff ask us to put the bag back on the car so he could direct us to a parking lot which requires payment. It's okay that assumption failed, but when we are at the parking lot, the staff direct me to park in the initiate lot, but subsequently changed his mind and directed me to park at the lot beside despite the fact I have turned off the engine and gotten off the car, and there's easily another 20 lots around. That being said, I am fine with moving, the final straw for the poor rating came when they saw my wife struggling to wheel the big bags for the family across the snow to the hotel but offered no help. I think it's ungentlemanly and unspoken off of japanese service culture. - Rooms and onsen is impressive though, we stayed in the top level which only has three family rooms I guess and the view in the morning is good. Amenities are self serviced at level one across the check in counter. Top notch face mist and hairdryer in the room was a plus. Cleanliness was top notch as well. - location was central to Otaru Canal and JR Otaru station.

We stayed here for a night, it’s one of the newest hotel in the area and near to the canal, shopping street. Also, family mart is just next to the hotel. It has an on-site car par, if not mistaken parking cost us 1500yen per day. The room size is acceptable and room very clean. But the con was the reception staff were not friendly and should be trained to smile more. Overall, we felt great and comfortable to stay here and will be back again!

Love the location, walking distance to Otaru Canal, sankaku Market, Otaru Station and the Sakaimachi hondori Huge room and smart tv. Nice pyjama.

The place is not too bad as it’s my second time there. It’s quite new and not too expensive either.
