IFA Schöneck Hotel & Ferienpark

Yes, it is an rather „retro“ Hotel and so the sofa is a bit aged. So don‘t expect brand new furnishing/facillities. But it has it‘s charm and is a reminder of the former GDR. The staff is very friedly and helpful and the breakfast is delicious and offers many variations (also vegan milk and breadspread options) and lots of fresh fruit. The pool costs extra but was in good condotion. The whole family enjoyed the slides and the waves. Only the strikt non-smoking policy did not work and people unfortunately smoked on the balkony. The staff was very apologetic about it and tried to solve the problem immediately but could not find pur all smokers. Overall we experienced good value for our money and would definetely book again. An absolute plus: the view is incredible!

In short: one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Worst of all is the customer service. There was only one person at reception who spoke poor English. All the rest of the staff speak only German, all information and signs are in German. When checking in, we did not receive any information about amenities, facilities, absolutely nothing. Also, everyone is EXTREMELY unfriendly, almost rude. Even if there is absolutely no prior information, when you arrive at the hotel they charge for absolutely everything as an extra. To access the pool area, EUR 8 per person for 2 hours. The pool area is old and seedy (as is the entire hotel). The area is not suitable for small children as it is extremely cold and the water was "heated" to only 29 degrees! So we couldn't use the pool, but we still had to pay to stay 15 minutes in this horrible area. The room is extremely old, everything has strong signs of wear and tear. The rug was dirty, as was the couch. The bathroom is small and horrible, low pressure shower, tiny shower box and plastic curtains. In the kitchen there was only 1 pan (which was giant) and that was it! Impossible to use even to heat baby food. There are no microwaves or "normal" cups (only really mini ones). No accessories for cooking basically, not suitable for more than 1 night. Wifi doesn't work in the rooms. The parking lot is far away so it is not convenient if it is cold, raining or snowing.

Das Hotel ist leider nicht wie Beschrieben. Bis auf ein Restaurant sind alle anderen geschlossen. In dem offenen Restaurant gibt es nur Buffett keine Speisekarte. Buffett kostet rund 30,00 EUR pro Person. Total überteuert, man hat leider keine Option und das wird ausgenutzt. Sauna öffnet erst ab 12:00 Uhr und kostet pro Person 11.00 EUR für zwei Stunden. Die Badelandschaft kostet auch noch extra Eintritt. Zimmer wurden während des gesamten Aufenthalt nicht gemacht. Wir waren enttäuscht und können dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen.

Das Schwimmbad Vorort ist wirklich super. Das Frühstück war auch sehr ausreichend. Uns hat es gefallen.

Das Personal war, bis auf eine Ausnahme, wirklich super. Auf Wünsche wurde eingegangen. Das Appartement war sehr schön. Das Bettzeug für die Ausziehcouch lag fertig da. Alles in allem ein schöner Aufenthalt.

Wir hatten zu dritt (1Erw./2 Kinder) ein 1.5 Zi-Appartment mit Frühstück gebucht. Positiv: saubere Zimmer; super Mini-Küche mit Induktionsherd für Selbstverpflegung; das sehr gute Frühstück, welches keine Wünsche offen ließ; das ausnahmslos freundliche Personal, welches wirklich Spaß an der Arbeit hat (heutzutage sehr selten, die Führung scheint viel richtig zu machen); das Schwimmbad mit tollen Rutschen; Angebote für Kids; TT-Platte, Kicker, Airhockey für abends; mittags Imbissangebot; abends Barbetrieb; Rodelpiste, Zauberteppich für Kinder, Skischule, Skiverleih und rote Pisten direkt vor der Tür Negativ (jammern auf hohem Niveau!!): in die Jahre gekommene Zimmer; kein Toaster/kein Dosenöffner als Standard, aber alles ausleihbar!; W-Lan kaum nutzbar; Bowlingbahn zu, weil renoviert wurde; kein Abendessen à la carte... Wir würden es aber in jedem Fall weiterempfehlen!

Wir waren wirklich sehr enttäuscht. Meine Kinder und ich haben uns für das Hotel in Schöneck entschieden, weil es dort „angeblich“ viele Möglichkeiten gibt den Abend im Hotel ausklingen zu lassen. (Kegeln, Bowling, Schwimmbad. Vielen und kegeln war nicht möglich, da Brandschutzbaumaß im Hotel liegen. Auf der Webseite gab es einen Hinweis das es zu Baulärm kommen kann, aber nicht das etwas geschlossen ist. Das Schwimmbad gehört zum Hotel und man musste Eintritt zahlen???? Das Essen im Hotel pro Person 27,50!. Ich finde es wirklich sehr übertrieben. Auch wenn es ein Buffet ist. Und das Zimmer….. Schlafzimmer ohne Fenster und Tür. Die Schlafcouch absolut unterirdisch. Meine Kinder und ich haben uns abgewechselt dort drauf zu schlafen. Die Couch ist so klein das man schräg drauf liegen muss und dann spürt man die Verbindung des Auszuges. Und es sollte für 4 Personen sein. Viel zu klein und mit der Schlafcouch meiner Meinung Nacht nicht ideal. Küchen Einrichtung praktikabel und für einen kurzen Aufenthalt ok.Die Umgebung war schön, jedoch sehr weitläufig. Wir waren in den Herbstferien und waren immer mit Auto unterwegs. Im Winter zum Ski fahren ist es bestimmt schön.

Das Zimmer was ok, leider hatte das separate Schlafzimmer kein Fenster. Das Zimmer war aber sauber. Die Ausstattung mit der Küchenzeile war durchschnittlich, es fehlte der Toaster, sollte eigentlich Standard sein. Die Restaurant Auswahlmöglichkeit ist auch eher durchschnittlich. Ansonsten war es ein akzeptabler Aufenthalt.
