There was plenty of parking at this hotel. The check-in staff was friendly and efficient. They gave us a map and lots of information about the town. They showed us their resident sloth, too! The parking lot is secured by a gate at night. We rented the large house for 4 nights. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was stocked with oil, spices, coffee, sugar, etc. It even had some sauces and a fresh bag of ice in the freezer. The mattresses were okay - enough to get a comfortable night’s sleep. The hotel is a short walk into town. The area has very high winds causing the upstairs rooms to be very noisy. We enjoyed sitting outside relaxing on the porch swings. The staff contacted us after the 3rd night asking if we needed any housekeeping. There is plenty of counter space in the bathrooms. Unfortunately, not much hot water. The second shower was always just luke warm if multiple people took back to back showers. The rooms didn’t have a place to put bags on (just a small night stand), so we ended up putting them on the other bed in the room. The outlets were on the walls, but not near the night stand. The power went out nightly due to the high winds - sometimes just a few minutes, but one night it was out for 4 hours. Each room has a flashlight. Despite some of the short comings, we really enjoyed this hotel. We were able to cook some of our own meals with the well equipped kitchen, enjoyed relaxing on our porch hammocks, liked being so close to the town center, and enjoyed being able to spread out in this huge house!

This is a gorgeous small hotel located in the cloud forest. Very friendly staff, who also gave us a tour of the grounds, which included pointing out a sloth in one of their trees. The room was nice and large, with a good sized bathroom and a Costa Rican shower (that means it takes awhile to figure it out). Breakfast wasn’t very good and the two ladies working the dining room were off-putting. If you didn’t put something back exactly right they took care of it right away so you’d know you screwed up. The coffee station in the hallway was great, you could make your own cup of coffee CR style.

Absolutely loved this little gem in the village of Santa Elena. The B&B style hotel has a garden full of exotic flowers, butterflies, colibri and other animals which is wonderful. The hotel is quiet yet well located (at walking distance to restaurants and shops). Breakfast is served in a separate building in the middle of the gardens. Breakfast spread was good and what one would expect in Costa Rica. The absolute highlight during our stay was a sloth residing in one of the trees at the entrance to the hotel. Lovely to watch. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, there is a veranda (with roof, so can be used also when raining) where one can relax and enjoy the garden views. Recommended!

Excellent little boutique hotel. Rustic large rooms with very comfy beds. Fridge in rooms a bonus along with a kettle. Bathrooms large with solar powered showers- so water not always very hot as it's on edge of the cloud forest. Beautiful gardens with area to sit under the shade. Breakfasts were tasty, plentiful and the chef very accomodating. WiFi excellent and close to walk to town for restaurants as not one on site. Staff are so friendly and accommodating...shout out for Erika. Thanks for a great stay

We stayed in the house. Amazing accommodations for the price. 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms w all the amenities needed. Walking distance to local restaurants and shops. If you don't need the convenience would skip the breakfast but it was adequate. Great view of the cloud forest from the house which sits on a hillside.

Hilltop location just two blocks from the center of small town, this hotel offered me a spacious bedroom tucked in stunning gardens. Erica and her staff in reception were never less than delighted to help me make phone calls, schedule tour guides, and book shuttles. Cheerful kitchen staff were more than happy to make exactly the breakfast I wanted with fresh vegetable from their garden. Please be patient for the shower to warm up which takes a few minutes but then becomes wonderful. When you get there keep your eyes in the trees for wild toucans and sloths. Both are frequently seen on the grounds. Pure comfort and delight.

Really beautiful hotel with a great garden away from the noise & the crowd. Rooms are really big and comfortable. Staff is super nice and gives you great advice to enjoy the area. Tico breakfast is delicious

Große Zimmer in Cabanas in einem schönen Garten. Kühlschrank vorhanden, ebenso Tisch und Stühle, Terassenmöbel und ein Kühlschrank. Vermisst haben wir lediglich einen Safe und Haken im Bad und an den Zimmerwänden. Da es in Monteverde viel regnet, und man dennoch dauernd draußen unterwegs ist, hätten wir gerne die Option gehabt, unsere Sachen aufzuhängen. Frühstück gibt es als Buffet - das hat uns gefallen.

Une chambre un peu vieillotte, des murs assez fins qui laissent passer tous les bruits de la douche d'à côté (et comme l'eau chaude est longue à venir, ça dure...). De plus, le matin on est réveillés en même temps que le soleil car bcp d'ouvertures, certaines sans rideau, sinon quand il y en a, ils sont blancs donc laissent passer la lumière !! Le personnel est accueillant et le jardin sympa offrant une table de pique-nique. La situation est très pratique dans le centre (heureusement car pas de restauration prévue pour le soir dans l'hôtel). Bref, des améliorations pourraient être apportées pour un confort optimal.
