Nicely situated in the town. Lovely big room. Warm. Very large with two sitting areas. Had iron, ironing board and a fan in a cupboard as well as a hair dryer. Old fashioned bathroom but everything worked so just aesthetically lacking really (the tiles were from a bygone era). Uncomfortable bed (too firm for me-I’d add a lovely topper) that needs better linens and a feather and down duvet and pillows (the pillows need to go in the bin). Was warm and had opening windows. You check in at the local deli and that worked really well-charming and helpful. When paying £140 a night you expect water to be replenished as well as having enough toiletries to last the stay. I think you’d also expect nicer biscuits. It’s nice but it could be sooo much nicer. I’d go back and I’d pay more for a comfy bed and a refurbished bathroom. Maybe a little sound insulation too (if it’s allowed in such a gorgeous old building?) as it’s very noisy from very early in the morning. Just to repeat- position is great and check in/out is pleasant and painless. It’s also very pretty and spacious. To me though it’s just not luxurious.
