Great stay! This hotel was classy, and from the look of it, pretty old. As in the building was big and extravagant. I've never stayed at a hotel with 8 floors before! Service was top notch, and the free breakfast buffet was excellent! Also never had a hotel buffet with bacon on the menu! The bed was super comfortable, and the only downside was the Louisville Airport next door. Once I woke up in the middle of the night, those planes kept me up for a while! All in all, a great place, and for only $90 a night, I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay at a big, fancy place, but thought they could only do it for hundreds a night in a place like New York.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I wouldn’t stay here again if you PAID me. -Restaurant has very limited hours and no other food options within walking distance. -The airport shuttle is a freaking joke. -The beds didn’t have anything on them other than a top sheet. -Ice machine was broken. -Staff was extremely disrespectful. I booked this place specifically for the airport shuttle. My partner and I landed after a 15 hour day of travel, EXHUASTED. They left us waiting outside of the airport in the cold for 45 MINUTES after we had communicated VERY clearly with them when we landed, got our bags, and arrived at the pickup location. Other shuttles had come by 3+ times by when they dragged their way to us. We had to speak to other shuttle drivers because we were so confused about why it was taking so long. I called a couple times during our wait, because they kept giving us different time estimates that they missed, again and again. At first they said 5-7 minutes, then after that time had elapsed, I called again to make sure they didn’t go to a different pick up location. They said 10 more minutes, I called again after 20 minutes because I was confused, and the front desk lady was SO RUDE?? Remember, we were promised a 5-7 minute wait, and at this point it’s been over half an hour. I asked her what we were supposed to do, because we had a very long day and we had been sitting outside in the cold for half hour with no real information besides her telling us “well the driver told me 5 minutes and I can’t do anything”. I asked if I could speak to the driver directly to see if they had lapped and missed us or something, and she said no. They had no way of tracking the shuttle and wouldn’t let us speak directly to the party that was supposed to be picking us up. I mean, at this point my partner and I are furious and considering just walking the mile and a half to the hotel. They finally showed at the 45 minute mark, there were other people waiting and very irritated by this point as well. When we got to the hotel, the front desk lady was talking to me about the “woman who was so rude on the phone about the shuttle”. Are you kidding me??? I was repeatedly told incorrect times when this shuttle was the whole reason we booked this hotel. Exhausted, treated like a last priority, and being spoken to in a very disrespectful way. The Crowne Plaza has just undergone an extensive renovation and it is beautiful. The lobby, the conference rooms, the sleeping rooms......all are beautiful and comfortable. I loved the overall feel of the hotel and would take a group there in a hearbeat.

The newly renovated Crowne Plaza is an ideal place for those needing to be close to the airport or the Ky Fairgrounds. Renovated lobby bar, Restaurant and guest rooms make the hotel an ideal place for meetings or room needs. Hotel staff are always very pleasent.

If you know anything about this Louisville legend you know it was in need of a cosmetic update, to say least. But they have successed to bring a fresh new face to a local favorite. Beautiful design, fresh new look, friendly staff and teh Food, i cant say enough about the food.

My husband and I stayed at this property for a military reunion and beforehand were concerned about the many negative reviews. I haven't written a negative review on a property in over 12 years so I don't do this lightly. Sometimes there is a one off but this was multiple failures over the course of five nights. When we checked into our room there was no bar soap or lotion and the body wash in the shower was empty. Since we had jet lag from our journey from the west coast we feel into bed exhausted for the next two nights. Our bottom and top sheet under the duvet kept riding up in the middle of the night causing us to wake up and reposition the bedding. On the third day, I stripped the bed and found the culprit--the housekeeper had taken two flat queen sheets and laid them across the bed instead of using a king fitted sheet and a king top sheet. When I called the front desk to rectify this there was no apology or inquiry. Also, the housekeeper would forget to leave coffee cups and repeatedly left decaf when we asked for real coffee only. We utilized the gym on several occasions and the water dispenser was left empty and the two sanitizer containers were empty throughout our stay. I asked the staff member attending to the gym and she just shrugged and said there were out. On the other hand, the staff in the restaurant could not have been nicer and that includes the bartenders as well. For a well known brand, this was an epic failure. It would be nice if management properly trained staff and ensured oversight for quality control.

I don’t appreciate all of us guests being exposed to dust and debris during the remodel. The elevators were not working correctly due to the construction. You had to take one elevator down to get another elevator to get to the first floor. The duct tape on the rails in each elevator was sticky. And the wait to get an elevator was long. There was no ice in any of the 3 machines I checked on different floors and areas. Cold water is imperative in excessive heat. The lobby and near by rooms there plus all the hallways were also quite hot! We were here last year and the remodel was supposed to be finished by this year. Obviously they chose the wrong contractor. Low bid is not always the best. If we ever have the misfortune to be in Louisville again, we will avoid the Crown Plaza and look for a Motel 6! I will say the food in your restaurant was delicious. Apparently it is not part of the hotel.

The rooms were spacious and the staff helpful. They were remodeling, but kept the noise and the dust at a minimum. Nice fitness center and quiet courtyard. The shuttle ran 24=7 and the driver was pleasant and prompt. The breakfast buffet was pricey, but very expansive and delicious, The rooms were very reasonably priced.

I stayed on May 10,2024.Used the required credit card for any incidental fees.Which I had none.Checked out on May 11,2024.Had breakfast at the hotel after my check out on May 11,2024.Paid cash for my breakfast yet it showed as a charge on my credit card.I did not give the waitress my card nor did I sign my bill for charges.It has been a week now and no action taken to remove the charge.
