From the very second we pulled up at the entrance of this beautiful boutique hotel until the minute we left, we were in a state of total relaxation and peace of mind. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and decor was luscious. The whole ambience was zen and wonderful. Very close to city centre and a lovely park right across the road, best of both worlds. The food and the cocktails were also fantastic. Looking forward to returning very soon.
UUtente ospiteIl paesaggio esterno dell'hotel è particolarmente bello. Il lago di montagna è caldo nella serata. La colazione è mezzo autoassistenza.Viviamo sottoterra, le strutture sono leggermente vecchie, ma fuori c'è giardino, è particolarmente bella.
I arrived in Limerick early - around noon. This was the first leg of my road trip of Ireland. On the off-chance, went up to the delightful receptionist to ask if there was any way I could get early check in or store my suitcase somewhere. With a nod and a smile she responded ”no problem - your room is ready now and we have upgraded you to a lovely room”. I mean, win-win at this point. Was offered help with luggage but declined - though offer still a nice touch. Went up to the room and it was simply amazing. As a regular solo-traveller, I am all to often chucked into the tiniest rooms. This was fit for a king. I couldn't believe my luck. I felt like a celebrity! Don't know what I did to deserve this - maybe just pot luck?! Parked the car across the road above Dunnes (you get discounted parking there). Came back and just had to thank the receptionist for the lovely room. She was an absolute delight to talk to - ever so friendly. Was shown the bar (I needed a drink as the roads in Lim are mental, like!). The room was exactly like the pictures. Super clean, smell gorgeous, well decorated, modern but elegant. Lovely toiletries. Nespresso coffee maker. Plenty of free drinking water. Corridors and the rest of the hotel equally immaculate and smell beautiful. The Savoy, for me at least, ticks every box and gets things right. A classy, elegant hotel but not snotty and exclusive. It's tricky to strike that balance. I like somewhere nice to stay whilst not being looked down upon. Great location too - slap bang in the middle of town - lots of shops and attractions nearby. Thank You Savoy and your staff. It helped make my Irish road trip an unforgettable, enjoyable memory. So much so, I am doing it again next year and will see you again soon!
TTheresa KWe have a lovely 3 nights stay in Castletroy. The room was gorgeous and loved that the bottles of water were nice a cold in the fridge a great idea. Beds lovely and comfy, a roasting hot shower. We had dinner the 3 nights in the bar it was gorgeous but the sea bass was exceptional and highly recommend it to anyone staying there. Breakfast was only ok it was a buffet style which is fine but would of liked if they had done an omelette. We had breakfast included in our package but we only had it 2 mornings. Staff here are fantastic all lovely and friendly but barman Andrew was fantastic so helpful, nothing was a problem, chatted to everyone. I had a cocktail on the second night and he asked was it ok and had I like it which it was fab. I told him they would have to get in Dingle Gin as its my fav and he said they had it but when I had asked another staff member the evening before I was told they didn't have it but Andrew said they did and would have it the nxt evening for me. Which in fairness when we went for dinner the nxt evening Andrew seated us and said he had got the dingle gin I wanted one that night. He is a credit to the hotel and should get a pay rise. Besides the breakfast we will definitely stay here again.
005617811I have just returned from this hotel after a long weekend with 5 girlfriends. We honestly had the best time here. The staff couldn’t do enough for us…we were really well looked after. The room was bright, the beds comfortable with good pillows. Tea/coffee/water was provided in the room each day. Breakfast was exceptionally good…a vast selection of choices and great quality and well presented. We loved the friendliness of the locals and the bar was warm and welcoming. We ate here one evening and again the food was fabulous. A small selection of wines but they were great quality…and have obviously been well selected. I definitely recommend a stay here and have no doubt that I will return….
The room at the hotel was quite nice and the location was okay. The parking lot was just behind the hotel - very convenient. We asked for a room facing the river and the check in staff said we were in luck. The room had a queen bed, comfortable and clean. For a big fellow the shower/tub was a bit confined but the water was hot. Facing the river ensured it was quiet. Breakfast was included and it was your standard fare but the wait staff could be a bit more pleasant!!!
P.S. io ho dormito ugualmente benissimo
So the first impression of the hotel is walking through a weird sort of long conservatory type room to get into the hotel properly. It's just odd and I can only presume it's there for coaches of people to wait in until their ride arrives, rather than filling up the reception. The reception area itself is very pleasant and the receptionist was welcoming when checking us in. The room itself again is just weird. We walked in off the corridor to what can only be described as a porch entrance, with coat hooks, somewhere to put your shoes, and a door into the bathroom. There is then another door that you have to pass through to get into the rest of the room. Upon first impressions, the room is clean and tidy, with a bed, sofa, and weirdly enough a big table with an office chair on one side and a mismatched dining chair on the other. This table however is nowhere near any plug sockets so wouldn't be ideal for working from for any length of time from. It felt like I was walking into an interview. The weirdness continues when you see that the whole room is carpeted, apart from a random corner that was tiled instead - Why?!? We chose to eat onsite at the ”Award winning” Curry House. Well the service was good, however the meals themselves weren't. The curries were literally just chunks of chicken floating round in flavoured sauces - not an actual bit of veg - onion, pepper, etc. to see in the dishes at all. And both my wife and I suffered horrific indigestion afterwards. The Cream Room Coffee House doesn't exist. It's just the Curry House during the day, with a coffee machine in which they stick Starbucks beans. The coffee is ok but please don't try to sell it as something more than it actually is. The breakfast the following morning which was served in the Off the Bone bar and covered the usual requirements - an assortment of ingredients from a fry up, pastries, yoghurts, cereal etc. This was ok. The rooms in this hotel are in serious need of renovating and I wouldn't really think of using this hotel again if I were staying in the area a second time.
