YYC008Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars;
First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review.
The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-)
Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance.
1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process.
2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance.
Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

Tuttavia, la situazione del parcheggio è stata un incubo. L'unica opzione era il servizio di parcheggio e riconsegna auto, che non era stato specificato in anticipo. Trovare l'ingresso è stato complicato e, una volta trovato, abbiamo scoperto che il servizio di parcheggio e riconsegna auto era obbligatorio al costo di 63 dollari al giorno. Il personale del servizio di parcheggio e riconsegna auto è stato molto gentile, ma preferisco la flessibilità di poter parcheggiare e accedere all'auto secondo i miei orari. C'era un hotel nelle vicinanze che offriva il parcheggio a 40 dollari al giorno, ma i continui spostamenti rendevano questa opzione poco pratica.
La camera in sé era elegante e ben tenuta, ma estremamente piccola e con una privacy minima. Viaggiavo con i bambini per una gara di cheerleading, quindi avevamo un sacco di cose e non c'era abbastanza spazio. La camera aveva solo un tavolino sotto la TV, alcuni comodini e una panca: non c'era spazio per bagagli extra o per muoversi comodamente. La disposizione era stretta, soprattutto tra il letto e i mobili.
La disposizione del bagno è stata un grosso svantaggio. Non c'era un bagno separato, solo una doccia e un WC, senza una parete o una porta per garantire la privacy. Con un gruppo di ragazze in camera, la situazione diventava davvero imbarazzante, soprattutto quando non mi sentivo bene e avevo bisogno di uno spazio privato. Non c'era un ventilatore o una porta per chiudere completamente la zona bagno, il che era un grosso problema.
Sebbene la camera fosse complessivamente pulita, ho notato della polvere in alcune zone: sui ripiani più alti, sopra il frigorifero e sul soffione della doccia. Faccio sempre una pulizia al momento del check-in e, sebbene pavimenti e superfici fossero generalmente puliti, quei punti più difficili da raggiungere erano stati trascurati. Inoltre, non c'erano abbastanza ganci o spazio per appendere e organizzare vestiti o attrezzature.
Nel complesso, la pulizia e il personale erano ottimi, ma la mancanza di spazio, privacy e informazioni chiare sul parcheggio hanno davvero rovinato l'esperienza. Solo per la disposizione della camera, non sceglierei di nuovo questo hotel, soprattutto se viaggio con bambini o per un evento in cui lo spazio è fondamentale.

Molto vicino, pulito, vicino supermercato e sette undici e molti ristoranti.
Il servizio di navetta è molto buono e il conducente è sempre gentile per aiutare come un ricevitore dell'hotel.

JJohnny B GoodThis hotel is not convenient from the airport. There is no shuttle bus from the airport. We saw a fake review that said there is a shuttle bus. it's so bad! Ctrip should not allow such a review!! When we realised that there is no shuttle bus from the airport, we called an Uber from the airport to go to the hotel. Each way the Uber cost 46 dollars (without tip). Even though the hotel is not very far from the airport. We don't know why it's so expensive. So we paid 100 dollars just to from and to the airport. We are not happy about it :(
So don't stay at this hotel if you are going from the airport. Don't make the same mistake we did and waste your money.

UUtente ospiteMy wife and I visited Catalina Island for our 28th anniversary — our first time back since before we were married in 1997. We chose the Catalina Canyon Inn specifically for the pool, jacuzzi, on-site restaurant, and shuttle service. Their website is very nice and seemed like a perfect match for the occasion. Unfortunately, very little matched what was advertised.
Shuttle: The shuttle was not waiting at the Catalina Express port when we arrived on the last ferry Saturday evening which was unexpected. Four of us were left waiting in the dark for about 20 minutes until the other couple called the hotel. The driver was friendly and apologized, but this set the tone for the weekend. The shuttle was consistently unreliable throughout our stay. They tell you to call the driver directly, but he often didn't answer. You'd end up having to call the hotel instead, and the shuttle only seemed to come after someone went inside and told the front desk in person. At one point we waited 45 minutes. Some guests got frustrated and just decided to walk, but the hotel sits at the top of a steep hill — not a realistic option, especially for older guests like us. Their website suggests the shuttle runs regularly, but that was far from our experience.
Restaurant: We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 PM Saturday and were turned away, even though their website says they're open until 8:00 PM. We had to rush down the hill to find dinner to-go in town before the shuttle stopped running at 8:45. It was a shame we didn't even have time to stay and eat on our anniversary or face having to trek up that hill. The next morning I mentioned this to the restaurant owner, who insisted they closed at 8:00 and that she was there. She then told us the restaurant closes at 2:00 PM on Sundays — so dinner there that night wasn't an option either. She was very friendly though I must say. On Monday we finally had breakfast before checkout. The food was mediocre and didn't match the glowing reviews at all. The prices were also odd — $12 for mozzarella sticks, $20 for nachos, but only $11 for pulled pork sliders, which you'd expect to be the pricier item. The pricing just didn't add up. While we were there, another couple was turned away at 1:30 PM because the restaurant closes from 2–4 on Mondays. We could feel their frustration.
Jacuzzi: The jacuzzi we were looking forward to was covered up and converted into a gazebo with chairs. At first we couldn't find it but yea. No mention of this on the website.
Room issues: The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The front desk told us we can mention it to housekeeping, who didn't come until after 5:00 PM. We got the soap and a couple fresh towels. The towels themselves were thin and didn't dry well overnight so fresh ones were sorely needed to get at least one shower in with soap before we had to leave the next day. The TV didn't work at all, and the microwave was unplugged — though I was able to fix that myself. The hotel also doesn't offer complimentary coffee, which is standard at most hotels we've stayed at for half the price.
The good: The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the balcony was a nice touch. The room was quiet.
Bottom line: The website gives a very different impression than what you actually get. Between the unreliable shuttle, limited and unpredictable restaurant hours, missing amenities, thin towels, and no coffee, this was not the anniversary experience we hoped for. I'd recommend staying somewhere closer to downtown so you're not dependent on a shuttle and stuck with limited options. I think we need to redo our anniversary. It was a miss for sure.

NNeel KapadiaOur stay at this recently renovated hotel was overwhelmingly positive. The rooms are beautifully updated, feeling fresh and modern with comfortable new furnishings. A major plus is its incredibly convenient location, with easy access to the city center and major highways. However, being an airport hotel comes with its one significant drawback: noise. The constant sound of aircraft is noticeable, especially at night. Light sleepers should definitely pack earplugs. Aside from this, everything else was excellent—friendly staff, clean facilities, and great amenities. We would happily stay again, but the noise is an important factor to consider.

La pressione dell'acqua in bagno è piuttosto bassa, però. C'è molta acqua calda, ma solo un po' fredda. Ahahah

Sono andato alla reception e mi è stato detto che potevo pagare più tardi. Così sono tornato al parcheggio e l'ho detto all'addetto, ma mi hanno detto di no, che dovevo pagare prima. Sono tornato alla reception e l'ho ripetuto, e mi hanno detto che andava bene, che potevo pagare più tardi. La porta non si apriva, quindi ho chiesto all'addetto alla reception di accompagnarmi al parcheggio. Pensavo che questo avrebbe risolto il problema, ma l'addetto al parcheggio mi ha detto che non andava più bene. Sembrava che parlassero solo spagnolo, quindi ho finito per chiedere a un amico che parlava spagnolo di aiutarmi a pagare più tardi, ma era tardi, quindi è stato difficile e faticoso.
