It's totally great to stay... hospitality extended by the in-charge Mr.Rajesh was amazing...premises around was wonderful on the core of Kumily town. Rooms are comfortable and neat especially for families and Kids to reside. very closer to reach to tiger reserve zone at Thekkady. Mr.Rajesh is a nice gentleman and takes care of every visitor as a known individual. His guides to make for an outing were useful indeed. certainly we would recommend to our families and friends to opt ” Woodside Residency” to stay.

This hotel looks lovely and quaint but when we arrived and were shown our rooms they smelt very damp and the bathroom was filthy. Speaking to other members of our group they seemed to have had better rooms, so we were shown two more before we were happy with our final choice. Even then, the bathroom could have been cleaner. There was wifi but only in the reception area which was very nice to sit in. The restaurant was also OK with breakfast ordered from the menu rather than buffet style and the service was good. What was strange is that the cloakroom facilities in the restaurant were great and a complete contrast to the ensuite bathrooms. This is something they should address. I would have rated this poor but the staff and restaurant tipped it into average. PS. Keep your windows closed, one of our group was asleep and monkeys came in, woke her up and messed up her room. Luckily she was save by the cleaners. Think we should have been warned about this on arrival!

We booked a room for two nights. Unfortunately it's nothing like what they have advertised. Don't be fooled by the name. It is literally in the middle of the town. Rooms: spacious & comfortable with a good view. But it looks old. Bathrooms: flush wasn't working multiple times. They fixed it though. Wifi: didn't get wifi 90% of the time. Food: decent breakfast and dinner. The dinner we had on the first night was horrible. In my opinion stick to the basics. Don't order anything fancy. Parking: decent parking space. Animal spotting: none. Overall experience: quite average.

First thing you will experience is warm welcome by Nabeena (staff at reception) and her great hospitality and second thing is mesmerizing view from hotel room. There is absolutely no obstacle between you and forest as property and forest shares common boundery. You may experience jungle safari from your hotel room. Do carry binocular to spot some wild animals by sitting in the room. There are very high chances to spot wild animals in early morning before sun rise. I was able to spot Gaur (Indian Bison) during my stay. Rooms are very specious, neat and clean. Currently restaurant is closed due to covid measures however you can order tea coffee veg sandwich etc. and there are some good restaurants available nearby hotels. Breakfast is served in hotel and it was delicious. Overall we had amazing experience. Thank you Tiger Roar and Nabeena
