Hotel in zona Church of the Ascension of Mr. Zipari, Kos

From the start of our stay, we truly had a 5-star experience. From the food to the staff, everything here at this hotel was amazing. The hotel is situated away from the main town of Kos which for us was lovely as the beach / hotel was quiet and you are away from all the noise. However, to get to Kos town you will either have to walk (30-40 minutes) or take the bus (it is right outside the hotel and its €1.50 one way). You can also take a taxi but as we enjoyed the walk, we ended up walking most nights. The restaurant here is amazing, verging on Michelin star. Would definitely recommend trying the brunch menu! The breakfast buffet was stocked very well, with lots of variety for everyone. The gym is somewhat well-equipped, not for your avid gym goes but equipped enough to have a good workout. There is a proper gym a 10-15 minute walk away if you really needed one but the one at the hotel does the job. The staff restock water, Powerade and towels everyday in the gym fridge so you can enjoy your workout. The spa was amazing, We booked a 75-minute Candlelight massage (definitely try it) and it was very relaxing, the staff in the spa are respectful and kind. The spa facilities are well equipped with a sauna, steam room and spa pool. The stars of the show and what makes this hotel so worth is the attentiveness and kindness of the staff. They truly look after you and try make your stay as pleasant and easy as possible. They give lots of recommendations (what restaurants to eat at in town and places to see) and provide lots of helpful information. We enquired on how to travel to Zia at the reception with a lovely lady and she gave us a bus timetable and when we came back in the evening we were greeted by another receptionist asking how our trip to Zia was. It took us by surprise as we had not encountered the second receptionist earlier. This truly showed us the attentiveness of the staff and how they go out of their way to make you feel so welcome. If we could rate this hotel higher than 5 stars we would. Thank you for having us and we will be back next year.

Più che un resort a 4 stelle, un villaggio vacanze per famiglie tedesche. Consigliatissimo se siete una famiglia tedesca e più che vedere la grecia vi interessa far sfogare i vostri figli in piscina, sconsigliatissimo per tutti gli altri. Camerieri attentissimi a togliervi il piatto non appena avete (secondo loro) finito di mangiare, molto bravi a mettere ansia per sparecchiare un secondo dopo che vi siete alzati, e ovviamente a farvi pagare pure l'aria che respirate (acqua a prezzi folli per l'Italia, figuriamoci per la Grecia, forse in linea con la Germania). A cena mangerete sempre le stesse cose, a buffet, in una sorta di mensa gigantesca. A colazione il caffè solubile è offerto, anche se a noi i camerieri non ce l'hanno detto, chiedendoci di ordinare dal menu. Pagherete anche i lettini in spiaggia e i teli da mare, sempre che vi interessi stare in spiaggia, visto che il mare a Mastichari è proprio brutto. Insomma se conoscete un po' la Grecia più autentica, questo resort ne è l'antitesi. Non dò una stella perché la camera è oggettivamente molto bella, ampia, spaziosa e pulita con letto comodo e vista sul mare; il resort è molto curato, verde pieno di palme (come tutta la Grecia no?) e perché le piscine meritano davvero, soprattutto alle 18, l'orario migliore, quando tutti quanti (inspiegabilmente) si ritirano in camera.

La struttura in se, rispetta tutti i canoni delle 5 stelle presentate. Piscine, aree comuni, stanze. Tutto nella norma ed ampiamente apprezzabile. Qui finiscono i lati positivi e inizia la tragedia. Gravissime criticità emergono sulla gestione dei servizi. Basta stare 10 minuti in sala ristorante o zona bar per accorgersi che il personale non sia minimamente formato ne abbia la più pallida idea di come si gestisca un servizio e relativi clienti. Il concetto di ”scuola alberghiera” è lontano anni luce, ed è un fatto grave per una struttura 5 stelle. In una sala dove ci sono 200 persone , aver difficoltà a trovare piatti o bicchieri puliti e dover vagare per accaparr****ne uno....non è accettabile. Non è accettabile il fatto che in una struttura 5 stelle, ci si possa sedere ai tavoli esterni solo disponendo ”generose” mance ai camerieri. Non è accettabile, in una struttura 5 stelle, che la pulizia dei tavoli venga fatta con una pezza fradicia e lurida e che le tovagliette pulite vengano poi applicate sopra 1cm di acqua. Cosi come non è accettabile che ad ogni colazione, i cucchiaini non vengano mai messi a tavola, dovendo quindi chiederli ai camerieri che con tutta calma li consegano al tavolo, appoggiandoli nel mezzo come a dire ”servitevi”. Non è accettabile che i lettini in zona piscina, vengano occupati alle 7 del mattino dai piu furbi che scendono e piazzano l asciugamano per poi tornare a dormire. Poter avere un posto, dovendo fare la corsa all oro, in una struttura 5 stelle, è assurdo. Non è accettabile che sebbene il checkout sia alle ore 11....alle ore 9 due addette alla pulizia della stanza, entrano dentro la medesima, senza nemmeno bussare.....e iniziano a pulire....”sfrattando” praticamente chi c'è dentro la stanza. Non è accettabile che la shower room di servizio di una struttura 5 stelle, sia uno spogliatoio adiacente alla palestra, totalmente privo di asciugamani puliti e con un mucchio di sporchi buttato in terra in un angolo.....con uno stato di pulizia dubbia, con 10cm di acqua in terra in ogni sua parte poichè tra un utilizzo e l altro nessun operatore lo sistema e lo rende ”utilizzabile”. Non ci siamo. La struttura è davvero bella, ma viene gestita con uno standard davvero scarso e carente che forse si addice piu ad un 2 stelle. Non lo consiglio per una vacanza a Kos

Posizione ottima, a pochi minuti a piedi dalla città di Kardamena. Le stanze pulite e ben strutturate, presente in ognuna un balconcino con sedie, tavolino e un piccolo stendi panni (molto utile). Il bagno con vasca e finestrato delle dimensioni adeguate. Presenti 3 piscine con lettini comodi e ombrelloni, abbastanza distanziati tra loro per godere di ottimi momenti di relax. I ristoranti a buffet si trovano nella parte alta del villaggio, la salita per raggiungerli vale la pena perché si mangia veramente bene. Cibo ben presentato, vario. Ogni sera serate a tema con menù differente. Abbiamo usufruito per una sera del ristorante alla carta ma sinceramente si mangia talmente bene al ristorante a Buffet che non abbiamo notato grandi differenze rispetto agli altri ristoranti (Panorama e Mediterraneo). I baristi sono tutti eccezionali, Tom al bar della reception sempre sorridente e gentile prepara il caffè migliore. Al bar della piscina Nik e Michele preparano fantastici cocktail fino a mezzanotte, ci hanno conquistato con la loro simpatia. La spiaggia è piccola ma il punto mare stupendo, pulitissimo, acqua limpida, insomma il tipico mare della Grecia. Unica pecca per arrivare alla spiaggia bisogna attraversare direttamente la strada che, pur non essendo particolarmente trafficata, può risultare pericolosa per i bambini. Direttamente all'interno dell'hotel è presente il servizio di noleggio auto ben organizzato e con prezzi onesti. Tutto il personale è stato gentile sorridente e preparato. Grazie a tutti per averci fatto vivere una vacanza TOP.

I have only one word for this hotel DISGUSTING. Please avoid booking here. I had mixed feeling before booking of this hotel but I decided based on good feedback on TripAdvisor. We stayed here with my husband and 2 years old son for 8 nights. I didn't expect some high level but when we opened the door of our room I was SHOCKED. Floor was covered with hair. Many types of hair, black, brown, short, long, curly. Amazing. Other shock was when I controlled the bed. On the bed sheet were yellow stains. The bedsheets were with holes. The towels as well with holes. Everywhere ants (big,small), dead spiders... I think bathroom nobody cleaned before our coming. On the floor were everywhere hair, on the mirror and taps water stains, empty bottles with shampoo and body lotium, the sink was black. We went to the reception, with request to change the room. The receptionist was not kind, she said she can only send the cleaning stuff to clean from the beginning our room and they will use some spray against the ants. We agreed. When we came back, nothing was cleaned, only floor, everything remained the same. My husband wrote big email where he attached the pictures. Next day we came back to the reception, we asked to Cancer our accommodation and refund the money or they can provide normal clean room. They gave us new room. I cannot say it was clean but better. However at night we found out the air condition was out of service. We couldn't sleep all night because the room was hot and we listened to 4 am some loudly music probably from some bar or restaurant. Next day we had to ask to fix the air condition. We waited 3 hours in the room (they said us to wait in the room-missed the breakfast) for stuff. At the end of 5 hours of waiting they said it is not possible to repair so we had to move again to another room. No apologies, nothing. In general hotel is really dirty, public toilets disgusting, during my stay I didn't see anybody to clean the swimming pool, everywhere hair, rubbish. The tables in dining room are sticky because they clean it with one dirty clothes every time. The chairs as well sticky. We many times couldn't find the free chair near the swimming pool so we had to leave our stuff on the ground as well on the beach is problem to find the free chair, we had to stayed on the sun on the beach without chair with child while somebody had towels and magazine under the shadow. I dont go on the vacation to have to have a worry if i dont bring home some bugs as well i don't go on vacation to fight for chairs on the beach. Other point is water, hotel likes to say they are sustainable. Okay, i agree to avoid the plastic bottles. But why are not stated anywhere in the hotel any water fountains ? I saw people to buy water in the shop. It is like kidding in 5 stars hotel.
