Spooky Channel Villa is named after one of Roatan's famous dive and snorkel sites, situated a short swim or snorkel straight off of our private dock. Diving and fishing the boats will pick you up right off the end of the dock. Both the house and the dock have outdoor fresh water showers for your convenience.The Villa is right on the beach on the north shore of the island which highlights nice breezes and amazing sunsets. There is AC only in the principal bedroom as the rest of the house can not be closed in as you can see from the pictures. The house is designed to move the breezes through it. If using AC we ask that you only use at night ( most people prefer natural air flow which is supplemented by fans) You will have to close all the windows and the door. The property is unique to Roatan. Just off the main road to a private beach area. This area is part of the Roatan Marine Park preserve. The reef system parallels the white sand beach of Sandy Bay. A safe and calm area to swim and explore the underwater ecological paradise teaming with tropical fish and corals. This is a quiet tranquil area without high end hotels and condos but close to the tourist meccas.The island style cabanas are nestled in a beautifully landscaped jungle canopy setting to keep the homes cool and breezy. The property has on site security. The beach front includes a private 300 ft. long pier accessible only by the small Sundancer community. The pier has an upper deck for sunning, and shaded palapa over the water.Just off Sundancer's Pier to the right is a natural deep water channel that allows larger sea life to come and go on the reef. Often seen are large squads of squid, eagle rays, turtles, huge grouper and large parrot fish. This natural opening in the reef also makes it easy for boats to pick you up for fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling and touring. Sundancer Cabanas are conveniently located in upper Sandy Bay, with grocery stores just 5minutes away. West End is about a 6 minute taxi ride headed West. The airport is a 10 – 15 minute ride away. The long Sandy Bay Beach stretch offers a variety of Roatan Island activities. The Salty Mango restaurant is right next door, to the east, and Lawson’s Rock is next door to the west, with a morning café, and restaurant. This is your home away from home and the entire property is for your use.Please note this is a diving operation and the filling of scuba tanks is limited between the hours of 8am and 9pm. From 6pm until 6:30am we have a night watchman on property and on Sundays a watchman is on property 24 hours.We are located 10 minutes from Coxen hole and 10 minutes to West End in the quiet neighborhood of Sandy Bay. We are steps from the principal road which traverses the entire island. You can walk the beach for approximately a 1/2 mile in each direction and enjoy the tranquil breeze and beautiful mangroves or sand beach.We have ample parking available if you rent a car and if not you're steps from being able to grab a taxi cab at the main road. We have specific taxi drivers available for tours when their schedule allows. Otherwise we recommend grabbing a cab at the road.Electricity is included with A/C usage limited to the time spent inside the unit. We request the units are shut off when not indoors.
