Orange County: hotel
Welcome to The Treehouse! This is the place to come for relaxation and rejuvenation! The Treehouse is a totally private, beautiful house in a wooded 10 acres. It overlooks a small, spring fed, half acre pond...with mountain views. 7 minutes from RT I-91 and close to everything. There are no other houses in sight and all 10 acres are available for walking, boating and exploring. This is a unique home with an open floor plan, cathedral ceiling and lots of windows. Built in 2008, the house is quiet and peaceful. Furnishings Include some Frank Lloyd Wright designed dining chairs from Copeland furniture in Bradford and a hand waxed Ellis dining table, made from old New England tobacco barn boards. There is a main floor bedroom with a queen size bed and Copeland dresser, mirror and chair. The open loft has a queen and a full size bed, and a sofa. The large, open floor plan living room has 2 sofas. The house is heated with oil and includes reliable internet and smart TV with Netflix. It also boasts 2 decks on the East and West sides of the house and 1 deck by the the pond for stargazing and wildlife viewing. Or for just sitting and reading. There is a fire pit by the pond and canoeing and kayaking are available on the pond with paddles and pfd's in the Pond House. Wood is provided for the fire pit. There are some short hiking trails around the property as well. Our property manager, Morgan, lives nearby and is a wonderful resource for all things Vermont. He is also a personal chef and is available to cook a dinner or brunch right there at the house for you. Just give him a call to check his availability. This property is an ideal getaway situated on beautifully kept grounds. There is a real sense of being in the country with some rustic, some kitch, and some elegant and artful touches. There is a brand new Pergo floor which was just installed. The bedroom and loft are air conditioned, which cools the entire house, and the main living room has two overhead Casablanca fans for cooling in the summer...even though it stands at 1,000 feet above sea level! Note: The ground floor office is not part of the rental and is unoccupied. The wood burning stove is not available for fires at this time.Below are some excerpts from guests who stayed with us last year and wrote in our "Share your stay with us" book, which we leave out for travellers:"It's hard to leave this beautiful, restorative place... I will totally be recommending this place to my dearest companions back home. ""Check-out day...Not wanting to leave...We will miss this place and the wonderful pond and hiking trails.""Our days were full of the music of birdsong, frog chirps, and wind in the trees. Wannagetaway? Nestled in the hills of old Vermont, our remodelled studio cabin provides the perfect opportunity to unwind and reconnect. Full kitchenette and outdoor grill allow you to engage your inner foodie while enjoying your favorite glass of indulgence. From sunrise coffee on the front porch to sunset libations on the side porch glider, Sol is bathed in light all day. A natural birch 4 post bed with linen sheets perched in front of the fireplace will seamlessly melt you into dreamland.Semi secluded sitting area in grass field directly behind cabin with fire pit and another fire pit located near our brook for you to enjoy (Firewood available for purchase). We live in a very peaceful and rural area of north central Vermont which provides a great mix of quiet and privacy, but is also with in an hours drive to most of the states interest points. Sitting at just over 1600’, we are in a unique microclimate that sometimes get a bit more snow than our surrounding towns. Our neighborhood is all tree lined winding dirt roads that weave along a tributary of the White River. Take a walk up the road to our closest neighbor who has a lovely Gotland sheep farm. The sheep and their guardian llama Alaska are typically grazing right by the road in front of the main barn. Kim is also a brilliant fiber artist and occasionally teaches various classes so please feel free to inquire about those if interested. Continue up the road to the dead end and turn left for breathtaking sunset views. If you're looking for something a little more sweaty, grab your bike or head out on a run "around our block" (about 4.5 miles) that takes you around and down to the bustling river, then leads you on a steady incline to an enchanted foot trail that winds up the hill and back around to the top of our road. Dirt roads abound and we're happy to help you figure out a path to explore =) We are also close to several snowmobile trails should you be inclined to stay with us while traveling the VAST.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs (limit 1 total).Small events possible w rental of other cottage..About checkOut:Check out before 10:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.Lotus Pack N Play & Deuter.About customRules:Please leave shoes in the tray by the door, or outside on the porch..Please don't leave food outside the cabin.
