Dall’esterno arrivando in questo hotel sembra carino ed accogliente in quanto l’edificio principale è ben rifinito e grazioso ma, appena oltrepassato l’ingresso per andare verso le camere ci siamo resi conto che le camere sono in realtà edifici dall’aspetto di baracche di lamiera disposti nel giardino. L’interno delle camere è molto spartano anche se spazioso. Da bocciare completamente il bagno, piccolo e con la doccia con la tendina che fa allagare tutto il bagno dopo un attimo. Simpatica l’idea di mettere al centro del giardino due saune dall’aspetto di botti e due vasche con acqua calda. Essendo una bella giornata abbiamo deciso di provarle. Le saune erano fredde, non arrivavano a 50 gradi quando dovrebbero aggirarsi sui 80-90 gradi, delle vasche invece solo una era funzionante e, con l’albergo pieno pieno, si riempie in un attimo. Quanto alla colazione poi anch’essa è stata abbastanza deludente, non molta scelta e varietà di pietanze ma, la cosa che mi ha turbato di più, è stata la scarsa pulizia della sala. Purtroppo abbiamo trascorso 3 notti qui e la situazione il giorno successivo non è cambiata. Non lo consigliamo affatto!

La stanza è pulita, il servizio è buono, la colazione è buona, la buona scelta per un giorno di riposo a metà strada. Non ho mai avuto l'intenzione di rompere un bicchiere di tè, non ho mai avuto la mia compensazione. Ho dimenticato di caricare il carico per chiamare l'hotel e chiedere aiuto presto per trova

Quando siamo arrivati ​​eravamo molto entusiasti di scoprire come sarebbero state le cabine. Abbiamo fatto circa 5 minuti a piedi fino alla nostra cabina e quando siamo arrivati ​​siamo rimasti sorpresi. Anche se ci aspettavamo che le stanze fossero più grandi. Abbiamo apprezzato il nostro soggiorno perché era di dimensioni ragionevoli per 4 persone. Avevamo un frigorifero di buone dimensioni, 2 fornelli per cucinare, utensili, piatti, tazze, forno a microonde e tostapane. La doccia era piuttosto piccola ma aveva un'ottima pressione ed era facile ottenere la giusta temperatura. L'unica lamentela è che la finestra era proprio sopra il gabinetto e non era sfocata La scala sul letto a castello avrebbe dovuto essere avvitata perché qualcuno l'ha rubata entrando dalla nostra finestra (era un compagno di scuola) Il cibo era davvero buono e avevamo opzioni diverse ogni sera. C'erano molte opzioni e abbiamo anche preso un panino per pranzo. La cosa migliore, ma nel complesso, è stata correre e divertirsi nei campi senza preoccuparsi di fare troppo rumore. Alla fine ci siamo seduti nel campo sulle sedie ad ammirare l'aurora boreale. Quando sono fuori, hai una vista spettacolare e puoi facilmente sederti sul campo o sulla veranda ammirando il panorama. Onestamente, uno dei posti migliori in cui ho soggiornato lo consiglio vivamente.

We chose Vos based on the high reviews here and also proximity to everything we wanted to do on the way to Vik (about an hour drive and a half from the hotel) and yet have a shorter drive heading back north on the final day of our stay as opposed to be driving back from Vik - and from that perspective it couldn't work out any better, given I was surprised how far from the main road the hotel itself is - not that it's a problem but just quite a drive to make it back and forth if you stay for longer than 1 night, like we did. The hotel is cozy, clean, on a smaller end - for some reason I expected a much bigger property - the rooms therefore were on a smaller end, probably the smallest rooms we had during our 10 days - it wasn't an issue of course as there was still plenty room for 2 big bags to open up. Breakfast was tasty, fresh and complimentary hot tea/chocolate/coffee 24/7 was also a very welcome thing - especially at night when we stayed outside longer in the cold waiting for the northern lights :) honor bar was also a nice touch if beer (prices very comparable to everywhere else) or wine or soda/pop was something you wanted to grab (no walking distance store, nor one for quite a long drive either so pick up things before you settle in or use the honor bar) We were excited for the dinner but ultimately skipped as it's a very limited menu (understandably) - in a retrospective that wasn't the best idea as there are no really great dinner spots in this area of Iceland until you really get closer to Vik - and that is way too long of a drive just for a meal

When we booked Kansarlinn we were a bit apprehensive if we had made the right choice but for our given dates there was little affordable in the neighborhood. What a pleasant surprise we were in for! The unpretentious road-side white hotel with its adjacent same-name restaurant proved to be one of our best accommodation experiences in island. Will start by saying how wonderful the people are, the owner ( a country music lover!) and all of the staff at the restaurant, wonderful people,. The hotel itself is quiet, clean, modern inside, the room was large, comfortable for 3 people, value-for-money for sure. Only thing that we did not like /could be improved is the size of the beds that are tiny in width! What is this with single Icelandic beds to be hardly 60 cm wide??! I had not fallen off my bed since I was 4, nearly did here. Note that the double is two teeny singles put together. Also the view could have been been a bit better but is part of the deal of a roadside hotel/inn... The adjacent restaurant was great, we enjoyed a fabulous local fish and chips dinner with some local draft beer under the sounds of some good country music for a very competitive price! The breakfast, served in the restaurant was equally fabulous, filled us to the max with both hot and cold offerings and great coffee. Highly recommended, hotel and restaurant alike!

Siamo arrivati in camera affittata e era sgombrata, usata dalle persone che erano rimaste lì. Era notte fredda e abbiamo aspettato un'ora cercando di localizzare i proprietari che non ci hanno preso il telefono (con il costo delle chiamate che ciò comporta) abbiamo finalmente dovuto chiamare Booking. Dopo un'ora una donna si presentava lì dicendo che ci avevano offerto un'altra stanza, con lei abbiamo specificato che non volevamo più stare lì dopo la lunga aspettativa e abbiamo perso un viaggio che avevamo per questo tema e abbiamo concordato il rimborso. Come fu detto, le parole sono state prese dal vento e ci hanno prelevato l'alloggio. Una vergogna veramente arrivare a un posto che il check-in è alle 16 e arrivare alle 18:30 e che la stanza non è pronta e che devi chiamare al telefono e che non darà nemmeno segnali di vita. In cima all'incidente, sembrava che dovevamo chiederle perdono noi, non lo consiglio affatto.

Review Had a fabulous time at Aurora lodge. Fantastic location for visiting the the south coast waterfalls, glaciers and black beach, horse riding at the Hestheimar. Easy to get to Golden Circle. Close to a supermarket and couple of restaurants. There are a number of self service petrol stations along the way. The lodge itself has ovely cosy feel. Nice relaxing areas with great views. 2 hot tubs with choice of temperature. Views over Hekla volcano. Rooms are a decent size. Comfy beds, the room is clean and warm. Toiletries and kettle provided. (Only one tea and coffee though. Sure I could have asked for more but I felt awkward. Just wish they would put a few out) Breakfast was lovely. Cereals, breads, pastries, pancakes, yoghurts, jams, bacon, sausage, egg and beans. Tea, coffee and fruit juice. I really really enjoyed my time here the staff are lovely. I have two issues for feedback and they are NOT complaints. The road to the lodge is about a mile on a dirt track. In the dark you had to go very slowly for potholes. I was probably being extra careful as in a hire car. Secondly I booked way in advance and asked if I could guarantee a room with a north facing view (I was willing to pay) I was told there were no rooms specifically facing north all rooms would have good view of the Aurora if it were to appear. On arrival there were many rooms that were facing north and by then all were full. The Aurora did appear but too many lights on the cabin doors that spoil a weak display and make it hard to see. I ended up sat at the side of my lodge to see the Aurora with a coat over the light to try and darken the area I was in. Overall fantastic stay and I will return! Had a fabulous time at Aurora lodge.
