Had a really lovely stay at Zostel Ooty. The best part about staying there were the dogs that would visit.
The food was all right. Only, it’s quite limited. There are only North Indian options. Travelling in South India, I would expect the local cuisine to be included more than that of any other region. Dosa and lemon rice would have been perfect “safe” additions.
Also, please do remove the trunks from underneath the beds. Nobody uses them and they take up baggage space, thereby making the dorms seem crowded.
The dinner tables are quite greasy even though I’ve seen the staff clean them regularly. So a hard scrub once in a while would do wonders.
The bonfire and music should begin as soon as it gets dark.
Zostel would definitely be my first choice when I’m booking my next hostel. The ambience is great. The staff is prompt, helpful, and friendly. It’s clean. The view is great.
