Ottimo...è proprio nel terminal T4. Non devi nemmeno uscire dal terminal, basta seguire le indicazioni e camminare su un cavalcavia. Particolarmente adatto per i viaggiatori che arrivano di notte o partono la mattina successiva. Sono arrivato la sera, ho fatto il check-in, sono andato subito a letto per liberarmi del jet lag, e il giorno dopo mi sono svegliato pieno di energia, e la stanza era molto silenziosa. La colazione non è male, l'importante è che il prezzo sia economico. Rispetto agli hotel urbani il rapporto prezzo/prestazioni è eccezionale. Inoltre, questo hotel condivide la stessa hall con il Crowne Plaza e anche le camere degli ospiti sono collegate. La differenza potrebbe essere la dimensione della stanza.

Very expensive too considering it tasted of soap and had big chunks of ice floating in it and a slice of lemon and not lime. I chose to stay for two nights as a destination hotel rather than 'just a hotel near the airport' so I suppose you could label a 'service' hotel but I have felt after being here for one day and one more night to go, it is not a place where people want to create or make relationships as I have felt it being rather a 'no' environment. I have done my best to be friendly but felt a little bit like more of a nuisance for wanting to create more relationships as a solo traveller especially when at 10 staff started to clear breakfast before I was even finished at 10.30 and then looked at a plate I had taken with me to my room as if to say 'you shouldn't be taking that' when it felt too uncomfortable to finish it in the main room. I may be unusual in my longer stay but I have still paid and a good customer and travel and stay in hotels a lot. The price is a good deal but that should still reflect good service. There should also be instructions on how to work the tv as I couldn't and then I met two ladies who had sat in the lounge for 4 hrs because they also couldn't work it so I helped them out. I train staff in friendliness and not saying they weren't but in my opinion, their needs to be a bit more approachability for a hotel near a major London airport with such incredible facilities such as a roof terrace overlooking the runway. It feels a bit like it has been forgotten and just left to be as it is as a very small part of the large Thistle Hotel Chain.

Il mio soggiorno all'ibis accanto a Londra Heathrow è stato davvero fantastico, sono rimasto lì solo per un giorno intero. È stato un po' complicato arrivarci solo perché non ero abituato a uscire dall'aeroporto (il mio volo era in ritardo). La posizione era ottima, a pochi minuti dall'autobus gratuito ed era proprio accanto a un McDonald's, aha. La camera era di buone dimensioni, buona anche la doccia. Stavo aspettando un po' per il mio pranzo, ma questo era dovuto solo al fatto che ero sceso mentre il personale stava mangiando, ma quando hanno finito sono andato in cucina. Mi è rimasto il menu e nessuno è uscito per prendere il mio ordine, quindi mi sono seduto per un po' prima di vedere qualcun altro salire nell'area della reception per ordinare il cibo. Il cibo ha impiegato un po' di tempo per uscire ma ero disposto ad aspettare ed era gustoso.

Overall, room size good, clean and reasonably comfortable. Location for airport users decent. However, service leaves much to be desired. I understand there are 4 star hotels (e.g. Novotel on Stevens in Singapore is an example of how good things could be) and '4 star hotels' (e.g. like the Crowne Plaza in question) and thus I wasn't expecting the service level of a Sofitel or Marriott but I was still surprised at how bad things were. List form given there were multiple (admittedly small with the exception of point 2) aggravating issues: 1. A staff member stood and watched as I struggled with bags upon getting out of the car. A friendly nod, but no help. 2. The receptionist was particularly dire. She saw my travel rucksack, decided I was apparently a only a poor backpacker and possibly not deserving of respect, and treated me as such. I would like to apologise on record here for encroaching upon her time. Given this is only the Crowne Plaza I wasn't expecting anything fawning or particularly deferential, but the overt disdain and hostility was particularly evident. Even if I were a backpacker, I still deserved basic respect as a human being. It would be more prudent for the staff to understand that should they want to act like they are entitled to a certain level of customer, the product on offer should probably match that expectation in the first place. 3. No soap. No shampoo. Just empty bottles. 4. Biscuit wrappers strewn on the floor of the lift. 5. I called down for help with the bags upon my departure. The staff member who came up had no trolley. It had to be explained to him that perhaps a trolley would be helpful. So he sauntered slowly down to get it. Meanwhile, my taxi was waiting. Waiting. A little common sense may have been ideal there. I don't usually write reviews and in fact usually read them with a raised eye-brow, as I think a lot of people tend to expect six star service on a two star price point, and I also have a significant amount of sympathy for public-facing workers, given how entitled and plainly lacking in common sense so many customers seem to be. Despite this, my experience at this hotel was simply so poor that I just had to do something - and writing a review is probably healthier than dressing down that receptionist, which was what I truly wanted to do.
