A great place to stay, located in a convenient location in Hastings. Great rooms that are spacious and clean with good amenities. The rooms were family friendly with our little one. The staff are friendly, communicate well, and make the whole stay really easy.

Great stay at Portmans, it is a warm and welcoming motel close to everything in Hastings, handy having your own parking spot while we wandered around town. Clean room, very comfortable bed, great sleep after a big day of travel. Thanks!

Arrived from out of town and was well supported by the onsite staff. I found my room and the facilities to be very clean and welcoming. The room was warm and I had a better night's sleep than my own bed at home. Thanks to the team at Portman, I wouldn't hesitate to visit again next time I am in town.

We had booked in for four nights. The second night there was a banging on the doors and some youth running through the motel. The second night the police turned up with a male evidently in nz they put homeless and witness protection people into motels. We had previously asked Portmans if they did this and they confirmed no they didnt how untrue they do. When you pay $215 a night for four nights you want to feel safe, they even had the cheek to charge $2 a night for a small bottle of milk and when I questioned this the manager just said you are not in Australia now but funny how every other motel we stayed at in NZ didnt charge for milk. When we said we wanted to check out after 3 days as we didnt feel safe, they didnt even offer a refund which they should have done for the disturbance we had experienced there. I would NOT recommend this motel in Hastings to anyone.

Risposta dalla struttura: Thank you for your complaint. Believe it or not, not everyone with a brown skin is homeless and we don't have any witness protection scheme in NZ that I am aware of. Your racist comments/behaviour while here were not appreciated and we would very much like you and anyone you recommend to not stay at this motel, ever. Portmans does not provide any form of social/emergency accommodation and never has.

We arrived at Portmans Motor Lodge after a long journey but it was well worth it , what a fantastic place to stay , the room was large with everything we needed and it was absolutely immaculate , we really enjoyed our stay thanks.

When leaving I was charged an extra $60 for an " extra" person. I said no I booked for 2 adults one child. Showed them my booking with agoda. They said no and showed my sign in and highlighted 2 adults only and I was told quite rudely I should take it up with agoda . I showed them my booking in form with Agoda on my email and refused this as "proof" and was told to pay the extra $60 in costs. The manager told me it was my fault for not querying the sign in on arrival not theirs. I went to my car and tried to contact agoda, but got the manager of portlands,, I apologized and told him I thought I rang agoda . The manger was abrupt, rude and as I was alone with my two kids without my husband I felt unsafe. I was.so embarrassed and made to feel foolish and paid against my better judgement. I left to get my kids breakfast 10 mins later I got a text from Portlands that they refunded the $60 as maybe agoda only put two adults and excluded the child. (Again this was not the case on my Agoda booking). I think this is not an isolated incident. . ALWAYS check your booking against the checking in numbers Portlands makes you sign on arrival, We will never stay there again.

The error in your reservation was not one made by Portmans but is between you and the awful Agoda website. We appreciate errors can occur however in this case it was not our error and we now regret having refunded the perfectly valid extra cost.

I originally booked because it was centrally located and this is a plus. The decor is nice modern with sky television. There's a swimming pool which looked great. However the person who was on the desk is the first point of impression for the premises. And it wasn't good. He was unfriendly. actually off putting. Other issues were about the cleaning. The introduction folder had food residue on it. The spa bath was dirty. Black long hairs in the bath and on the floor. I specifically requested a room with a spa but didn't use it because of the hygiene standards. The cleaners are not doing a proper job and there shouldn't be hairs and I mean multiple hairs in the shower or bath. Actually after that experience I wondered how clean the rest of my room was. I think the hosts should check the standard d of the rooms after the cleaners have done their job. Second be friendly on the desk because honestly if you can't be welcoming to your guests why are you doing that job. In the times of covid motels are struggling, and guests are paying a premium to stay there and motels are not cheap. One more thing, this is a recommendation for all motels who purchase those crappy cheap hot chocolate sachets and coffee. For 195 a night or more. how about investing in quality brands. The way to attract customers and stand out from other motels is exceptional presentation, nice friendly person on the desk, and better tea, coffee and hot chocolate brands. Would I book again no.

We stayed in room # 19 which was away from the main road meaning road noise was minimal. Our room was a good size with heaps of kitchen bench space, had a very large bathroom and bedroom (bigger than we have at home). The kitchen had no oven, but did have a hotplate and electric frying pan. Or room was clean. Sound proofing between rooms is not great you can hear people in the room next door as is often the case. The motel is in a good location on the fringe of the CBD meaning you can walk to the CBD. Each unit has its own allocated carpark which has easy access. You are allocated what seems like a low 10 GB of WiFi data per room per week, this possibly rolls over when used up with our reservation stating “free unlimited WiFi”. Whilst the property has a pool we never used it is it is relatively small and usually overrun with children.
