Carmella Boutique Hotel

We have rarely visited Haifa, and this was only a one- night stay, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. The location was fabulous, near the tayelet (promenade) and lots of kosher restaurants and coffee shops. The room was large and comfortable and clean, and I would be delighted to stay here again

Very nice and tidy hotel in the middle of Carmel Center in Haifa. suitable for families with children, I visited with my wife and two children. The rooms are not big but tidy. Cleaning is good and does not disturb visitors. 20-50 meters to Carmelit, Bahai gardens, Haifa Zoo, and taxi, and buses. There is underground parking (a little annoying that it is for a fee - but not critical) At the reception, they definitely speak English, Hebrew, Russian, Arabic, but maybe some other languages We loved the hotel and most likely if we need to visit Haifa for a few days in future, we will choose it again.

My wife and I spent 3 nights here recently. The hotel is located at the top of Mount Carmel, not far from the Baha’i Gardens. We didn’t like the location as the vast majority of restaurants are downtown which is over 2 miles away. A taxi to a downtown restaurant took 35 minutes one night due to holiday road closures. It also proved difficult one night to get a taxi back to the hotel. We had a deluxe king room. It was fairly large and nicely appointed. Same with the bathroom. We had some problems with the tv but the woman at the front desk fixed them. The room had an empty mini-bar which was helpful for chilling drinks. Breakfast was included in our room rate and is offered at 2 nearby restaurants (Mandarin + Italiano Deli Cafe). We had to miss breakfast on 2 of our 3 days because the restaurants opened too late - the Mandarin opens at 8:30 and the Italiano Deli opens at 9:00. We were able to eat breakfast on our last day at the Italiano Deli. It was outstanding. We had about a dozen dips with bread, fruit cup, eggs and a baked potato dish. Parking is available for a few. It works reasonably well with an app but the check-in process is annoying. Someone has to get out of the car while you park in front of the gate, partially in the road, and ask the front desk to open the gate. The system should be replaced or supplemented with a speaker system. The people working the front desk were friendly and helpful, particularly the woman who fixed our tv. Overall, the place is nice but I didn’t see anything “boutique” about it. It’s just a small hotel with good rooms.

We had a fantastic stay at the Carmella in July of 2022. The place is incredibly clean and the rooms were big and comfortable and incredibly well appointed. The highlight of our stay was the very kind and attentive staff, in particular Polina and Taya, who went out of their way to make sure we had laundry done over the weekend. We'd definitely return!

We were expecting more from this property after reading the reviews. Positive: - location - friendly and helpful staff - parking Negative: - rooms are much smaller than advertsised - no soundproofing of walls - no heating in bathroom - very cold - no breakfast on premise - dated room
