Graskop è una cittadina piacevole lungo la Panorama Route, che merita una sosta. Il Westlodge è la scelta perfetta. Si tratta di un edificio ben ristrutturato che ha mantenuto intatto il suo carattere storico. Molto belli sono il giardino, le aree comuni e le camere che sono ampie e arredate con gusto e con i necessari comfort. C’è una bella hall comune aperta sul giardino dove potersi rilassare, magari con un buon bicchiere di vino davanti. La colazione è servita in un ambiente molto carino vicino alla cucina dal sapore antico e veramente bella. I piatti caldi sono cucinati al momento e per il resto c’è un bel buffet a disposizione degli ospiti. Il parcheggio è intwrno alla struttura e gratuito. Il proprietario Gustav è molto accogliente e cordiale. Tutto è estremamente curato e pulito, è la scelta perfetta per una sosta Graskop.

Graskop è una piccola cittadina lungo la Panorama Route. Il Westlodge è una buona scelta (qualità/prezzo) per un B&B. Si tratta di un edificio che ha mantenuto intatto il suo carattere storico (vecchio cottage di campagna inglese). Le aree comuni e le camere sono pulite e arredate con gusto. Anche qui niente bidet e doccino, ci si lava in doccia o in vasca.... C’è una hall comune piena di libri aperta su un bel giardino. La colazione è servita vicino alla cucina , i piatti caldi sono cucinati al momento e per il resto c’è un bel buffet a disposizione degli ospiti. Il parcheggio gratuito è intwrno alla struttura. Il proprietario Gustav è un chiacchierone.

Lodge in stile vittoriano in ottima posizione a Graskop dove ho soggiornato una notte come base di partenza per visitare la Panorama Route. Il proprietario è una persona molto gentile e lui da solo vale il viaggio. Abbiamo dormito in una dependance molto grande provvista di cucina. Non mancava nulla. Ottima la colazione al mattino con la possibilità di poter ordinare piatti caldi che vengono sul posto preparati. Mia moglie è vegetariana e non ha avuto problemi. Purtroppo manca il riscaldamento e a luglio ed agosto può essere un problema. Era presente una termo coperta che abbiamo usato. Sicuramente consigliato

La "maison" è carina e si trova in un posto tranquillo. Le camere purtroppo (nel periodo invernale di agosto) sono troppo fredde e prive di riscaldamento purtroppo. Abbiamo optato inoltre per la cena in struttura che è risultata la peggiore di tutta la nostra permanenza in tre settimane in Sudafrica. Un vero peccato perché questo stride molto con il resto della struttura. Un vero peccato.

La struttura è una antica casa coloniale gestita da una adorabile coppia di circa 60 anni. Lei olandese , lui del Sudafrica. Le zone comuni sono molto carine, arredamento antico che si addice perfettamente allo stile della casa. Vi è la possibilità di cenare all’interno, il menu e’ fisso poiché viene cucinato tutto al momento, piatti molto curati e cibo ottimo. Anche la colazione ricca e variegata. Le camere sono old style, addirittura con moquette sul pavimento, il bagno però era tutto nuovo. Ci è stata proposta una camera quadrupla per me e la mia famiglia che onestamente ho trovato molto piccola, ma per una notte ho sorvolato. Nel complesso direi struttura valida se siete di passaggio e senza troppe pretese.

Westlodge in Graskop was by far my favorite guesthouse on my 35-day trip in South Africa. The room is very comfortable, it has excellent wifi (which was important for me as I need to work), strong shower, heating. The breakfast is not only tasty, but wonderfully presented, you can see the chef loves his work. There is secure parking and a wonderful courtyard full of plants! The best of all is the wonderful hospitality of the owner and everybody working there. It is a great stop to break the journey between Johannesburg and Krüger and also serves as a practical base to discover the Panorama Route. Graskop is a lovely and safe little town with a large supermarket and a number of local craft shops (I did all my souvenir shopping there).

This charming pink and white guest house with the delicate “ Brookie Lace” melted my heart as soon as we walked in! We got lucky with the honeymoon suite! I felt like a princess! Gustav is an adorable host! Breakfast was delicious and beautifully plated! His staff was so kind and helpful. The magnificent kitchen is my dream. I never stopped smiling experiencing this darling home!

Delightful B&B which is immaculately kept. We stayed in the garden rooms which were very large and comfortable with a lovely bath, and decorated in a fabulously traditional maximalist way. The main house has an amazing terrace full of interesting plants where you can take tea. Lots of great options for a delicious breakfast. There is SO much to do in the local area, stunning scenery and fun activities. Gustav and the team made it a very special experience, thank you.

I loved everything about the place, the beautiful room, intimate dining area, attention to detail, the honesty bar. I enjoyed conversations with Gustav and his team. Amazing way to celebrate my birthday!

Wonderful English syle property: the room, the living room, the small garden , the breakfast. The hosts are really nice, always willing to help you...

Gustav, Dot and all of the team at Westlodge in Graskop really go the extra mile when it comes to customer service and care. V.rapid and helpful responses to a couple of queries before we arrived, including making a table reservation for our first night at the best restaurant in town. A very warm welcome on arrival. Really nice touches throughout including: electric blanket for those cool winter nights; wonderful fresh fruit prepared for self service at breakfast; carefully arranged plate decorations of finely cut fruit, vegetables and micro-flowers on the breakfast plates; a well stocked, self-service honesty bar for pre-dinner drinks and nightcaps. Gustav has also created a wonderful garden of succulents and air plants, and is an amazing, generous and helpful host. We ate out two evenings at Abe's Glass House restaurant in town. Both Westlodge and Glass House are highly recommended. If / when we're back in the area, both places will be top of our list to try and book again.

We had an exceedingly pleasant stay at Westlodge in Graskop during our tour of the Panorama route. Gustav and his team went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and happy. We stayed in the Cottage which was great as we had a small galley kitchen to use up the last of our groceries from our self-catering stays. Breakfasts were marvellous and we loved the choice and attention to detail. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and the electric blankets and aircon for heating were very much in use for combatting the winter cold. Great situation, knowledgable hosts, super comfort and attentiveness. I can highly recommend booking a stay here and we shall most certainly be back!
