Gand: hotel a 2 stelle

Hotel nella media della catena IBIS. Si trova non lontano dal centro in un quartiere industriale dove non ci sono negozi. Ben tenuto con personale giovane e disponibile che ce la mettono tutta per dare un buon servizio. Peccato che si paga il posto auto coperto in hotel (14€ al giorno) nonostante in strada ci siano lavori di riqualificazione del quartiere che impediscono di parcheggire in area pubblica. Peccato che la stanza è veramente piccola piccola, ma chiaramente siamo a Gent non per stare chiusi in stanza. Peccato che la colazione si appena sufficente con poca possibilità di scelta e prodotti industriali. Conviene spendere qualcosina di più (anche se tutto è molto costoso). Non penso ci tornerò.

Very tired rooms and way overpriced. We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast rate well in advance. When we got there we were informed that because dinner was not available at weekends ( not mentioned at all when we booked ) they would have to cancel our reservation and offer us the walk in rate for bed and breakfast, which wasn't much less that we had paid to include dinner. They suggested we eat at a very expensive hotel which was nearest to them. The receptionist shrugged and said take it or leave it. We took it because it was late and dark and we didn't fancy driving around looking for somewhere else. One of the bedside lights was broken, the previous heater had come off the wall and they had hot wired a normal one into the wall socket. Every now and then it gave out green sparks! There were no plugs in either the bath or the wash hand basin and one of the sheets had a big rip in it. Breakfast was pretty nondescript and the room had a large sign saying if you took any items out of the room they considered it theft. We have stayed in other Campaniles in the past which were fine but never again.

L'ostello si trova in un palazzo storico, vanta una posizione imbattibile in pieno centro ed una vista sulle ”3 torri” che da sola vale il soggiorno. La camerata da 10 persone era spaziosa e ordinata, con letti comodi ed una presa e una luce per ogni ospite. Ogni tanto si sentiva qualche rumore dal ponte che si trova davanti all'ostello e al passaggio di alcune macchine sembrava che il letto tremasse leggermente. All'interno della stanza c'erano dei locker dove conservare gli oggetti più importanti, ma troppo piccoli per zaini/valigie. I bagni, le docce e la lavatrice sono tutti all'ultimo piano condivisi con l'intero ostello, più altri due piccoli bagni negli altri piani. La cucina ed una sala comune al piano terra sono accessibili sono fino a mezzanotte, ma se si vuole continuare a parlare si può scendere alla banchina che si trova sotto l'ostello. Il personale è stato accogliente e gentile durante il check-in e il check-out. Dopo aver fatto il check-out è possibile lasciare i bagagli nei locker al piano terra al costo di 50 cents/ora, così da poter fare un ultimo giro. Approfittate del walking tour che parte due volte al giorno proprio davanti al portone d'ingresso dell'ostello: è un ottimo metodo per incontrare altri ospiti dell'ostello.

Overall, this hotel disappointed me greatly. I had chosen it partly because it was advertised as being convenient to public transit. Not so. The #1 tram, which my reservation confirmation mentioned as an easy way to reach the hotel, has been out of service for a while now and will remain so for the next four years while the city renovates the route. Yet the hotel's final communication with me, just before my arrival, failed to mention this. This caused me no end of trouble. But it was also typical; I never felt that I was in a hospitable hotel where anyone cared about my comfort or convenience or even whether I enjoyed my stay. The proprietor, who does everything from making the beds to setting out the breakfast to staffing the office, gave the impression that beyond his considerable responsibilities, he had no time or energy for anything but the absolute minimum. Luckily, the people of Ghent welcome visitors, and it was thanks to them that I enjoyed the city at all. Despite the physical signs of wear and tear, the Erasmus Hotel has some charm. One afternoon, I was returning from a museum visit and heard someone play the antique organ on the premises, and someone singing lieder to it. I've also never eaten breakfast in the shadow of a suit of armor. Nevertheless, I wish I'd stayed somewhere else.

We stayed three nights and had two rooms. The rooms, charged very high but same rate had different amenities. One room had a fridge but it didnot work. Same for safe deposit box which didnot work. We asked the owner and he confirmed these two are not functional in the room ever. The other room, muxh smaller didnot have these. Service was almost nom existent except to check in. There is no lift and a lot of narrow stairs. It seems to be a one person show. The guests are not supposed to make noise (fair enough) but there was a party Friday evening which was so noisy it kept us up The hotel is too close to the train station and trains may keep a light sleeper up all night. There is nothing to blocl the sound. The hotel while not cheap in cost was cheap in services No. Fridge, no Air conditining, water heat and force in shower poor.. So not worth the money.. No alojamos en una habitación doble con baño privado y podemos decir que fue una gran elección. Desde el principio la atención por parte de los gerentes fue estupenda, aportando soluciones ante nuestra hora de llegada, cuando la recepción ya había cerrado. La habitación estaba cuidada y muy limpia. Contaba con todo lo necesario incluso con secador. La temperatura dentro de las instalaciones era muy agradable. El comedor estaba bien organizado y limpio, ofrecían desayuno por 4 euros, tipo bufet. La localización era estupenda, muy cerca del centro y de la estación de tren. Sin duda lo recomendamos 100%

Assolutamente incredibile, non posso negare che suppongo che resterò solo 1 giorno, ma la receptionist tunisina è COSÌ GENTILE, UMANA INCREDIBILE, mi parla dicendo IL MIO NOME. Sono stato in PIÙ DI 28 paesi in molti hotel a 5 stelle, MAI MAI nessuno chiama il MIO NOME!!! Mi fa sentire così importante per questo motivo ho pagato altri 3 giorni! a proposito, LA POSIZIONE È fantastica, la stazione di polizia accanto, quindi hotel MOLTO SICURO, molto pulito, CAMERE GRANDI molto meglio del previsto!
