Hotel in zona Wijaya Foodcity, Galle

Al temine del nostro viaggio in Sri Lanka, abbiamo passato 11 notti in questo hotel che gode di una splendida posizione appena fuori dal forte, con una spettacolare vista sia dalle camere che dal giardino. Le stanze dotate di idromassaggio esterno, sono spaziose e pulite e le aree comuni curate. Il personale alla reception, estremamente gentile, si prodiga per venir in contro alle richieste dei clienti: quando abbiamo avuto un problema con la prima camera assegnataci, hanno prontamente effettuato il cambio di stanza, con uno sconto a fine soggiorno per scusarsi del disagio. Lo staff del ristorante (provato solo per la prima colazione, ricca e varia e per il servizio bar ) è sollecito e sorridente, ma risente dell’inesperienza e, spesso, della difficoltà di comunicazione. Comunque, se si vuole coniugare la prossimità col centro di Galle e la suggestione del mare, Le Grand è una soluzione di livello. Peccato per l’enorme quantità di spazzatura che si accumula quasi a ridosso dell’ingresso dell’hotel e nell’area di spiaggia che lambisce il confine dell’albergo: non è certo un bel biglietto di presentazione per chi arriva o si affaccia dal giardino…

Questo hotel è l'hotel più impressionato e soddisfatto dell'intera viaggio in Sri Lanka. Più di quanto previsto, oltre le altre due hotel ereditari nel mio cuore.L'hotel è un servizio di governatore inglese con quattro camere, molto tranquillo e può fornire un servizio migliore. Puoi scegliere la colazione che vuoi (con stile locale, varie opzioni europee occidentali) per il tuo gusto e parlare con il tuo direttore il giorno prima. Il giorno dopo, faremo un pasto aperto o in camera per te, Infatti, il servizio di guardia è nel complesso, più lo stile di decorazione generale. Questo tipo di trucco non l'ho mai visto in teatro. Sono davvero innamorato di questo tipo di trucco. Se non fosse il prossimo giorno, volevo vivere per più giorni. In realtà, il posto di Calore è un po'come un buco domestico, molto adatto per le vacanze, In aggiunta a questo servizio di guardia è davvero molto rilassante

Ho avuto la fortuna di soggiornare in questo bellissimo albergo a Giugno, durante prime tre notti di un recente, indimenticabile viaggio in Sri Lanka. La posizione è semplicemente spettacolare: a breve distanza di tuk tuk dal centro di Galle (circa tre km), l’hotel si affaccia su un ampio tratto di mare e dal vasto e curato giardino dotato di due scenografiche piscine, dai ristoranti e dalle camere che si snodano in modo armonico nella proprietà, si godono viste meravigliose. Nell’intera struttura, progettata dal leggendario architetto Geoffrey Bawa, si percepisce la ricerca del connubio fra raffinatezza e natura che permette di vivere tante piccole suggestioni: per esempio consumare un’ottima e varia prima colazione seduti ad un tavolo in prossimità della scogliera sferzata dalle onde, osservando l’indolente camminata di un varano mentre si è a propria volta osservati da un King Fisher, sono esperienze che ti rimangono dentro. La suite in cui alloggiavamo era molto grande e vivibile, arredata con gusto e dotata di idromassaggio in bagno e di una vasca esterna affacciata sul mare; la pulizia è sempre stata impeccabile. Il personale ha dimostrato una calda professionalità, disponibilità e cortesia; un particolare encomio va allo staff del ristorante specializzato in cucina di pesce, dove si sono prodigati per soddisfare ogni richiesta speciale e offrirci due cene squisite (con una menzione speciale per il capo sala Janapriya). Davvero non riuscirei a immaginare un altro hotel, per un prossimo soggiorno a Galle…

Firstly this probably merits 3.5 out of 5. The reason is I felt quite disappointed when we arrived, having booked directly with the hotel and asking for “Superior” rooms which bear no resemblance to the Superior ones shown on the well-known booking site. I initially thought we’d been given the wrong rooms and had to double check with reception . We had two rooms which at $96 per night were the most expensive of our trip. We don’t normally spend a lot on hotels so this was meant to be a treat at the end of a long tour. These rooms were pretty basic, smelt quite musty as they were built in to the rock face, had many steps to reach and the sofa in one room was torn. The mosquito net had several holes in it. I understand that Sri Lanka has had a rough time recently but to charge these kind of prices, especially in the low season is not really justifiable. The hotel really needs a good returb, and I noticed that the rooms below ours were being updated during our stay. Plus points were the staff - absolutely amazing, helpful and polite and the food which was delicious- try the fresh fish/seafood plates. Also it was really difficult to find! Put up a sign board! The hotel has some way to go before it can be accurately described as a “luxury boutique hotel”. Overpriced.

It's hard to know where to start with this review. From the moment we booked the general manager sent me a personalised message. We arrived greeted by a refreshing cold towel and a tour of this beautiful hotel. We booked the grand suite for 8 nights and 9n entering it exceeded my expectations. The room is huge tastefully decorated spotlessly clean. The bathroom is beautiful and there is even a small kitchen area. The veranda overlooking the pool was a gret place to have our morning coffee. The grounds make you feel like you are in a tropical rain forest and the pool and separate jacuzzi are lovely. Breakfast was a delight and they adapted every morning to our tastes. All of the staff are amazing and friendly. And the general manager is so lovely greeting us personally every morning asking about our stay and if there is anything they can do for us. All the staff were a credit to this beautiful place. Ps the private beach is stunning feels like your on a tropical island. I wish our stay was not ending tomorrow. Would not hesitate to come back. This place is amazing, but it would be nothing without the staff who really made our stay special. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they are both friendly, helpful and hard working, always on hand to help with any little thing, even if it is just local travel advice. The deputy manager Kumarasiri was especially friendly and made sure our every need was met. The room was huge an easily accomodated the four of us, we had the pool suite which opened on both sides, to the pool and also the beachfront garden, where you can dine, use the sunbeds or just relax on a sofa and read, that's if you don't want to sit on your large balcony. The beds were very comfortable and the 4-poster in the main room was huge. everything was provided in the bathroom, loads of towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel. The restaurant and dining were fabulous, breakfast has a range of options from traditional Sri Lankan breakfast with sambal and rice to continential or cooked, loads of fresh fruit and juice, and of course tea, it wouldn't be Sri Lanka without Ceylon tea. Evening meals were fabulous, we ate there most nights, very reasonable pricing for such tasty and feshly cooked food, i particularly enjoyed the black pork curry and my kids loved the fried noodles and fried rice. Our kids loved the pool area, it's secluded and sheltered, right next to the rooms and the pool bar. The hotel itself is secured at night and has a permanent security guard once the staff go home, the guard is a lovely fellow, constantly patrolling and keeping an eye out which is very reassurring. One day we had to leave to go to the temple at a very early hour of 5am, so the hotel prepared us packed breakfasts (which they didn't have to do) and the security guard made sure we had them ready for when we left. I cannot reccomend this place more highly, out of the 5 places we stayed in Sri Lanka, from east to west coast, this was the highlight and the best accomodation experience, it way exceeeded my expectations, especially given the very cheap price, i would not have expected somewhere so good at such a low price per night for 4 people.

Era il luogo incredibile che ho visitato. Ha avuto un grande benvenuto dal personale della linea di fronte. La stanza è perfetta e ha una grande vista. La cena e il colazione erano incredibili e molto deliziosi. Il buffet del colazione aveva una vasta selezione di cibo occidentale e locale. Ho chiesto di organizzare una torta di compleanno all'ora del colazione e hanno organizzato una torta deliziosa con una sorpresa speciale di compleanno.

We had a XL upgraded room and were All inclusive booked through Aitken Spence via Mercury Holidays who I thoroughly recommend they gave us a private transfer to and from airport and they have a local Rep who looks after you. The room had bedside tables with an English plug and 2 usb slots. Comfy King size double bed, good shower (cubical a bit worn/grubby around edges) and jacuzzi bath there was a small sitting area, free Safe, tea coffee making facilities, small outside balcony with Excellent 180D sea and pool view. The staff are friendly and helpful. Although 3 star the food is just as good as any of the 4 star hotels we stayed in on our tour. Food is buffet style so something for everyone. Excellent quiet a/c and also ceiling fan above bed. Pool area looks clean and well kept. Service 4/5, Cleanliness 4/5, in some places it is a little tatty around the edges. Our room was bug free, Sometimes there are power cuts electric goes off but then comes straight back on again. There is some road noise at night but otherwise quiet. There was also entertainment on Saturday night in the dinning area 2 men playing acoustic guitars mainly 70s American music and they were surprisingly very good. Safe calm swimming beach right outside of the hotel sandy bottom so no need for swim shoes. Reef comes right up to beach so snorkelling from beach is safe and shallow with lots of large and small coloured fishes. Turtle beach 5 min walk away. There are shops,restaurants, banks etc on the road just outside hotel, no path but we felt safe walking around local area. We found heckling to be minimal. We would stay at Coral Sands again so recommend it.
