Really nice stay with family. Good facilities, pools and outdoors. Food and drinks really good and a lot of variety. Staff excellent, really nice and available. The rooms starts showing need for modernisation.

Siamo stati una settimana in questa struttura e ci siamo trovati benissimo! La struttura è molto bella, in un’ottima posizione sull’oceano e con tanti servizi di ottima qualità. Le camere sono spaziose e pulite, lo staff è cortese e disponibile. Ottimo il buffet, sempre vario e ben rifornito. Quando non siamo riusciti a prenotare in uno dei ristoranti tematici, la direzione si è presa carico del problema e ha trovato posto anche per noi, permettendoci di provare anche l’ottimo ristorante Botanic che offre piatti della cucina di Madeira. L’animazione divertente, per i giovani come nostro figlio, senza essere invasiva. Consigliatissimo a tutti, coppie e famiglie, per un soggiorno senza pensieri a Madeira. We stayed a week in this resort and we had a great time! The property is very beautiful, in an excellent location on the ocean and with many excellent quality services. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are kind and helpful. The buffet is excellent, always varied and well stocked. When we were unable to book in one of the thematic restaurants, the management solved the problem and found a place for us too, allowing us to also try the excellent Botanic restaurant which offers Madeiran cuisine. The entertainment team was fun, especially for young people, without being invasive. Highly recommended to everyone, couples and families, for a wonderful stay in Madeira.

Hotel super organizzato e pulito. Ci siamo trovati molto bene. Buffet sempre pieno e con tante alternative. Personale educato e disponibile. Consiglio di prendere parte alle escursioni organizzate che ti permettono di vedere tutta l'isola.

Hotel molto grade e ben tenuto. Personale molto gentile posizione ben servita con navetta e poco distante dalla capoluogo... Camera de luxe con balcone ampia peccato che la nostra fosse proprio vicino alla stanza macchine n. 23 e che sotto ci fosse il ritrovo dei camerieri in pausa sigaretta... quindi molto rumorosa forse dovrebbero trovare uno spazio più confortevole per loro e meno fastidioso per i clienti perché a tutte le ore il chiacchiericcio e le risate impedivano di dormire e restava impossibile aprire le finestre. PUR chiudendo le finestre restava il rumore dei macchinari di notte eccessivo. Il personale è intervenuto per cercare di risolvere il problema del rumore ma purtoppo sembrava apparentemente risolto ma essendo la stanza vicino alla sala macchine o sala motori condizionatori.. non vi è stata soluzione salvo l acquisto di tappi per orecchie ... Che ovvianebte attenuano solo in parte. A parte quindi la sfortuna della posizione della camera comunque pulita e del rumore L hotel e comunque vivibilissimp considerando le dimensioni direi che l impegno del personale è massimo. Il cibo è vario ed è quindi possibile scegliere cosa e quanto mangiare scegliendo tra verdure e frutta fresca. Unico neo La pasta sempre troppo cotta... immangiabile per un italiano ma per il resto bravi. Ero già stato in altro hotel Pestana senza però i pasti e questa soluzione all inclusive l ho trovata più comoda. Probabilmente fine luglio e un periodo ecessivamente pieno e la presenza eccessiva di persone rende meno rilassante il soggiorno. Ma l hotel c'è la mette tutta

Splendida settimana a cavallo di Capodanno, camera spaziosa, elegante e confortevole, cibo vario e buono, ottima colazione e magnifica posizione. Una menzione speciale per il signor Tiago della reception, molto gentile, attento ed efficiente.

Scappati dal CR7 Pestana di Funchal, in quanto classificato come un 4 stelle ma ne dovrebbe avere 1, siamo approdati qui e siamo stati accolti dalla direttrice Angela Scotti. È stata fantastica e ci ha trovato subito una sistemazione. Sono stati tutti gentilissimi e ci siamo sentiti veramente coccolati. Questo hotel si che merita 5 stelle. Consigliato a tutti sia grandi che piccoli.

The hotel and staff were first rate, we had a wonderful holiday. A shout out to Florintina and Ricardo from the restaurant - efficient and friendly. This was our first time in Madeira so of course we participated in all the touristy things which was great fun. Be sure to make your way via the hotel outside lift to the promenade and through the amazing tunnels. there are brilliant sea pools (charged) which were amazing You can walk along the prom to the centre of Funchal which was good on our only dull day. The hotel was like a tropical oasis with a wonderful outdoor area for sitting surrounded by amazing mature plants. There is also a lovely library and coffee machine with an assortment of books to borrow which was great! We swam each morning in one of the two good size outdoor pools - once you get in its really quite warm and really invigorating. The pools are is well kept and the views of the hills are gorgeous to see while you are swimming. We used the indoor pool also. There were plenty of sunbeds for anyone that required one. The food was delicious with a great variety. It was possible to be on holiday and eat well and healthily with the delicious food on offer mmm We also booked for the Maderian restaurant which was wonderful and for the Italian restaurant (not so good). There is a courtesy bus to Funchal twice a day, also buses are cheap and frequent from the top of the road The room we had was beautiful with amazing sea views, all in all this was a wonderful holiday - we are planning to return in February, a first for us. Due to the closure of my originally booked hotel, my travel agent rebooked me at this property. Unfortunately, it seems there was a miscommunication between my travel agent and the hotel, as none of the requests I made during the booking process were fulfilled (apparently, the room was not properly reserved by EasyJet Holidays). Regarding the hotel itself: while the public areas are clean and well-maintained, and the staff are exceptionally polite and accommodating, I found the room I stayed in to be outdated and in need of refurbish. This raises questions about how the property maintains its 5-star rating if rooms of this standard are being offered. On a more positive note, the restaurant is beautifully presented, the food is decent quality, and the live music (piano or guitar) during breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 AM is a standout feature that truly enhances the experience. Additionally, the adults-only swimming pool and the indoor pool are great amenities, and the lift to access the promenade is a convenient touch. While I appreciated the hospitality and certain aspects of the hotel, I would only consider returning if the rooms are updated to a higher standard. In their current state, I would unfortunately not choose to stay again.

What a fantastic week we had. Everyone at the hotel were friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure your stay was brilliant. The food was great and varied. Pool & bar areas are excellent. Some great walks along the prom with a few stops to sit at chill with a beer. We enjoyed the walk to Funchal but it is "up & down" so not for everyone

I was given a lower spec room than I’d booked and paid for. I had to wait 2 nights for the correct room, that was 1/3rd of my holiday. Compensation was a meal in a nearby sister hotel which was no better than I could have had in the Pestana Royal which is all inclusive anyway. My deluxe sea view room with balcony did have great views and on first sight looked great. However it was style over substance. It was one thing not to have a usb/c charging port quite another that the only spare socket in the room was in the ‘corridor’ near the shower room. This had to serve not just for charging my iPhone and iPad but also to boil the kettle! The only no socket near the table with the tv and kettle was physically attached to the underside of the table and none of the plugs would stay in. There was no switch by the bedside table to turn off the room lights. Two sides of the shower room was plate glass with blinds for privacy but no door by design. Fine as I had booked the room for single occupancy but I don’t think it would suit everyone. There was nowhere to hang your damp bath towels other than a minute hook by the sink, I had to throw them over the top of the shower cubicle. The carpet was marked and stained. There were 3 restaurants, one was the buffet the other two of were only not open on the same nights. These had to be booked by a tortuous screen in reception. The staff were all very pleasant, the room cleaning was sporadic, the food in the buffet was fresh, plentiful and good quality. The drinks plentiful, I don’t drink alcohol so can’t vouch for the quality of the wines etc. Otherwise the hotel was spotlessly clean as was Madeira in general. This might be a 5 star hotel in terms of facilities offered but it fell short in terms of basic room functionality.

So poor, not 4/5 star in slightest. We moved here in last minute panic when facilities were closed at the hotel we had booked. It was a big mistake. We paid extra for a delux superior room. I think it must have been the mould and stains we paid for as the previous cleaning had left layers of dust so the extra money wasn’t for cleaning. It was dated which I don’t mind if it is clean- it wasn’t. We were in room 607 with a view of an apartment block, a rubble site and a glimpse of the sea. We could hear the sea and wind as it howled between the buildings. The dining room is like a holiday camp. The food recycled from meal to meal. We are one dinner and didn’t bother again. It was so noisy and not helped by the staff throwing and clattering dishes and cutlery constantly. I despise having my plate taken when my partner is still eating . It happened every meal. Breakfast plenty of choice the omelettes and pancakes were ok. And the fresh fruit also good. Lunch we stuck to salad and the pool side bar had the same food out for hours kept gently warm. At no point did I see any temperate checks or shelf life on food. McDonald’s has much better food safety. Drinks available from a help yourself station so if you like quantity and not care about quality you’ll be fine. And plastic glasses … The reception tried to be helpful which included ordering us a taxi - 8 euros more than the same trip by Bolt. And refusing to allow us to share a cab with another couple. We had to have separate ones. You can get the excellent local bus service from the road at the top for €2 . They give you a glass of Madeira wine on arrival which was lovely but I think they hope the shot of alcohol will colour your view. The bed was rock hard. I heard you could have a mattress topper so I asked for one - it never arrived. I try not to leave negative reviews and say nothing if I am up happy but please look at other hotels than this one and save yourself the heartache.

The room was spacious and bright overlooking the sea, we could forgive the room was a little tired, as it was perfect for our needs. The staff were very helpful from the guy that showed us to our room, to waiting staff who were very attentive, nothing was to much trouble. We liked the style of the hotel which was very traditional, in a perfect position just outside Funchal, and so not subject to the noise of the city. The food was varied and plentiful, the house wines and cocktails were acceptable. Special mention for Leticia for her wonderful back massage, and Marlene on reception who was very helpful.
