After reading some of the reviews before staying at this hotel I have to say I'm not surprised. I totally agree with the comments that this is not a true 5 star hotel at all. The positives are the location, the pool area and the rooms (to an extent). From one way its only a short walk to the medina and from the other it's a short walk to the beach bars. The pool area is well maintained and very attracting. The rooms are a good size with comfy bed and powerful shower and they are very clean. However, we started off by having to change rooms as the room we were first given had a chipped bath - all the paint had come up off the bottom of the bath so it was unusable, the staff solved this pretty quickly by offering us a room of the same standard one floor above. Nevertheless, I find it shocking that a 5 star hotel would not maintain their rooms in the first place. We found the cleaning staff and concierges very friendly. Some of the breakfast staff and beach staff, less so. One day we sat on the beach beds and felt looked down on and were not treated as well as some of the other guests. This really put us off and prevented us using this area again. Not sure if this is because we are a younger/mixed couple? Overall, the hotel is lacking in a lot of areas and the Accor group need to look into this. I would definitely visit Essaouira again but would probably rent an apartment since the beach and medina have so many options anyway!

Albergo nuovissimo e bellissimo sul lungomare della splendida città di Essaouira dove mi sarei fermato più giorni, a 10 minuti a piedi dal centro storico. Camera ampia, ben arredata, pulita, silenziosa, con cassaforte e ottimo WiFi. Bagno comodo ”alla francese” peccato per la doccia in vasca che a me non fa impazzire. Buffet con una vasta scelta e colazione dolce-salata buona. Personale del ristorante sempre molto attento e gentile. Veramente bello. Se, come spero, ritornerò a Essaouira credo ci farò la mia base.

Così tanto, che quando i nostri piani sono cambiati dopo il devastante terremoto nelle montagne dell'Atlas, siamo tornati a Ryad Wateri per un altro soggiorno a Essaouira. LOCALITÀ - - La bici è situata in centro, abbastanza vicino alla medina, stalle, ristoranti, senza essere nel mezzo. I TUI HOSTAS - Fatiha, Hyatt e Rashid erano così benvenuti, ci facevano sentire a casa immediatamente, e riempiti di idee e suggerimenti per escursioni, visi, shopping e dove mangiare. Non c'era nulla di troppo, e tutto fu fatto con un vero sorriso e una calda ospitezza marocchina. Jean-Gabriel, il proprietario, era un piacere incontrarsi, pieno di storie interessanti e di buon umore. Tutti i servizi di cucina e di custodia erano così amichevoli e accoglienti. Rooms - - ogni camera è diversa, incantevolmente decorata. La camera Messaouda era grande, con un grande bagno, luminoso e gioioso, con un posto in fiamme e il letto più confortevole. SORVEGLIANZA / MEALS - - Lavanderia, hammam sul sito (WELL!), biblioteca, internet ad alta velocità, terrazza sul tetto per i giardini/sorriso. Delizioso e colazione piena, servito con un sorriso. Sì, ritorneremo a Riad Wateri, vedrai presto, Fatiha.

Arrived Thursday 6th July and was given by Omar the choice of 2 rooms both seemed great to me but we chose room 6 that was very Moroccan with large windows looking into the unique centre of the property. Omar along with Mango and the other staff were so helpful always available whether at breakfast , to suggest a Hammam, directions to a restaurant or anything ! The Riad was located close to the city walls from where at sunset you get the most amazing views and it is very well located in the Medina to all the hustle and bustle and only 10 mins away from the outside gates and any taxis needed to travel elsewhere. We loved our stay and would most definitely come again and we loved Essaouira

Volevo essere a Essaouira per celebrare il mio 40° compleanno, come uno dei miei luoghi preferiti, e non potevamo scegliere un Riad migliore per farlo. Non posso davvero raccomandare questo Riad abbastanza. I proprietari sono alcuni dei più carini che abbia mai incontrato e quando ho ricevuto notizie distruttive, sono stati così meravigliosi e gentili e sarò sempre loro grato. La vista dalla terrazza è incantevole e il colazione è stato eccellente - vorrei davvero che avessimo cena qui, perché il menu sembrava delizioso, e se il colazione fosse qualcosa da andare da allora so che sarà buono! Le camere erano stupende. Tutto era decorato con gusto e si poteva dire che un sacco di pensieri erano entrati in ogni singolo camera. Sei un po' abbagliante in quello che chiamo Little Souk Street (non è proprio quello che chiamo!) e solo una strada lontana da quello che chiamo Big Souk Street (non è ovviamente neanche quello! ) è solo a circa 10 minuti a piedi al porto e si trova molto vicino a alcuni ristoranti fantastici. Tornerò a Essaouira e non esitarò a prenotare Villa Garance - mi sentivo come una casa lontana da casa. Grazie mille per tutto. Mandare a voi e alla vostra famiglia

What a beautiful Riad, everyone has been super friendly, helpful , knowledgeable and smiling. The hotel is lovely and clean, nothing is too much trouble. The reception staff go above and beyond to help and the lady that serves breakfast is always lovely with a good selection of food every day. Always welcomed with a smile. The Riad is very centrally located in the median and a 5 minute walk to either the port or beautiful sandy beach. Definitely recommend

Jan & Jo si trovava a Riad Al Madina nel settembre. Un meraviglioso, tradizionale Riad marocchino che è benvenuto, confortevole e ha un personale molto carino e utile. Situate all'interno della Medina, le strade circostanti sono affascinanti e interessanti, con tanta esperienza da vedere e fare tutto il tempo. Ci sono un'ampia scelta di posti per mangiare o ottenere rinfrescamenti molto vicini, da dove si può guardare la vita in Essaouria. Siamo stati felici con le nostre camere, che erano pulite, comode e interessanti. Ci sono stati colazione ogni giorno e ci sono stati anche dei pasti di notte deliziosi, e talvolta abbiamo avuto un bicchiere di vino mentre guardavamo il cielo notturno dal cortile centrale aperto. Grazie a tutti i membri del personale che non dimenticheremo mai di essere così amichevoli, utili ed efficienti – un grande team!Grazie speciali a due dei catering team, Zach e Yosef, che erano così gentili e cari durante le ore successive al terremoto. Raccomanda molto questo Riad!
