This was our second visit to Gleneagles townhouse after visiting for the first time last October. On our last visit we were really disappointed by the service, however there has been a HUGE improvement since then. We went yesterday for the Brunch Club and had a wonderful time - the service was truly exceptional, and the food was delicious. I am currently pregnant and despite not being able to eat / drink all that was on offer, the server and chef made sure I had a special experience.

Very disappointing breakfast at Gleneagles Townhouse today. Substantially more expensive than the average good breakfast, but the whole thing felt a bit stingy!! We ordered tea for two, and that's exactly what we got, two tiny teapots with only enough for 1 cup each (each pot costing £4). The full cooked breakfast was crammed onto a plate that was far too small - the waitress dropped some of the bacon off the side of my plate as she laid it on the table (not her fault!!) Also crammed onto the side of the plate was a very small piece of toast, with no butter or dedicated knife provided. The bacon was streaky (not what you'd expect of a five-star hotel) and the potato scone was clearly not freshly cooked as it was hard and crispy. When I asked for butter and marmalade for my toast, I was provided with three small dishes of delicious jam, lemon curd and marmalade, but I only had a small slice of toast (less than10cm square), which by now was hard and cold, and no butter knife!! The table was also very small so it was difficult to fit everything on it and we didn't even have side plates. All in all a very uncomfortable, ungenerous and disappointing experience!! Gleneagles Townhouse needs to do better!!

My wife and I booked the Spence Restaurant for 31st August as the website quoted the Brunch Club was on the last weekend of every month. When we arrived we were disappointed when advised the Brunch Club was actually on the previous weekend - 24th and 25th August? We had heard so much about the Brunch Club and were really looking forward to it. However we had travelled through from Lanarkshire and decided to have the a la carte menu. Having stayed at the hotel in Auchterarder, I'm sorry to say I thought the food was good but not of the same calibre. Also the food coming out of the kitchen was very slow and our starter arrived 1 hour after we arrived. In total we were there for 3 hours which was just too long for us. Four tables were occupied by a birthday party however I assume they would have pre-booked and hence the kitchen should have been sufficiently staffed. The waiters were very pleasant and professional however based on my overall experience it is unlikely that I will return any time soon. Sorry Gleneagles Townhouse

Superb Sunday lunch with family at the Spence Food and service were exceptional. Many thanks to Jamie and Jack for looking after us so well. Loved the Baked Alaska! This was a return visit and ambience was great - what is the lovely smell in the hallway?

I stayed here for a weekend to enjoy the Fringe. This stands as one of the fanciest hotel rooms I have had the pleasure of staying in. I had a nook room, which, despite its name, was quite spacious. The bedroom was very well presented and comfy, and the bathroom was a particular favourite of mine and will provide inspiration for my furture interior decorating aspirations. The only drawback of the room was because of the building's architecture; there was only one window in the bedroom, which meant there was very little natural light. However, this was not an issue for me as I did not really spend any daylight hours in the room. Breakfast in the Spence was also very lovely, with generous portions and unbelievable decor. Will certainly return

Almost impossible to book the brunch club. We have heard so much about it and have tried for several months to find availability. We gave in and decided to use our voucher elsewhere within the hotel. A great place with a very confused website.

An outstanding meal to celebrate Son 2's Graduation. The service from Front of House and the Waiting staff was excellent - prompt, friendly and courteous. The Restaurant itself is a marvellous room (neo-Italianate?) and the food more than did it justice - all the courses we enjoyed were simply superb and it was a truly wonderful experience. Definitely be back!

The hotel is very nice and there is a lot of detail. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room felt a bit dated and was quite expensive. However I did really enjoy my stay and would recommend the hotel to family and friends. Everything was very clean.

One of my favorite hotels ever. The townhouse itself is grand but the hotel exudes charm. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything you would need including a hair straightener! The beds were beyond comfortable especially after a red eye flight that was appreciated. The breakfast at The Spence starts the day off on a great note. Do not miss the roof top bar. Fabulous views and fun drinks. We checked out the fitness center and even that was top notch. You also can't beat the location.
