TownePlace Suites Dubuque Downtown

I spent one night at this well-run hotel in downtown Dubuque. When I pulled up, people were enjoying the fire pit outside and parking was easy. The woman working the front was friendly, fast and efficient. The rooms are spacious and have a small kitchen. My second floor room was spotless and was quiet. The complementary breakfast was your typical fare with scrambled eggs, real bacon, turkey, bacon, as well as bread items as well. There is a brewpub across the street. I would definitely stay here again

Here for baseball tournament. Pros: Nice location in terms of walking to coffee/breakfast at Charlotte’s and brewery options across street for our team. Rooms was clean. Cons: The early AM train noises are loud, as others have indicated. Most disappointing was the fact that we booked/confirmed a 2 room suite for our family and upon walking into our room realized the changed us to a one queen bed standard room without even telling us at check in. When we called down we were told they needed the room for another guest and had no other room.

We were in town for a wedding and hoped for early check-in. They did not allow early check-in. This is understandable BUT check-in was supposed to be at 3:00 & they didn’t allow us to check-in until 4:00. The room was very small. The dishwasher had dirty dishes from the last people! Didn’t realize this until we wanted to make coffee in the morning and they were dirty in the dishwasher! Ick! Went downstairs to get coffee, BUT they were out and never refilled! Eek! I guess I expected much better for the price we paid.

Nice place to stay. I attended a wedding and stayed 2 nights. The room was very clean and fresh. The room was fairly small but it was efficiently designed so it didn't feel too small. I especially enjoyed the fire pitt area. This area of Dubuque had several close bars and restaurants.

We needed to spend an award night as it was expiring. We were visiting Galena, IL. There are not that many hotels near Galena. So, we stayed here. The hotel is ok. Rooms are small for a long stay property. The bed is not very comfortable. The location is very good, as Dubuque is not a large city, and the hotel is centrally located. For short stay this property is overpriced. I would not stay here again.

My stay started great with the amazing front desk staff. They were polite and very professional. I felt welcome from the moment I walked in. Then I got to my room that was gourgus. These rooms have full kitchens with all the pans, plates, cups, wine glasses, and untesisnls need to cook a meal. The beds are so confortable. The pool is relaxing. Will definitely be my place to stay from know on.

The front desk is awesome. We was able to come and have a enjoying weekend just me and the wife. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit in the evening reminising about memories we shared. We had a very large room. I was able to make my wife breakfast in bed for her birthday.

I stayed here for work. I was welcomed in and put in a amazing room. The only thing was the train but this property even provided earplugs for this reason. When I went to the desk to get quarters for laundry. I asked of they had laundry soap to purchase the lady said no but I have some to give you. I couldn't belive this every hotel charges for laundry soap.

The aforementioned train noise is a thing. Can't do anything about that, so I credit the hotel for supplying earplugs. This is a clean, relatively new property in a good location. My biggest issues on a three-night stay for business came at breakfast. Day one, I was about to grab a sausage biscuit when the guest next to me warned that he had tried one and it was moldy in the middle. Hard pass. The staff came out with a different batch of breakfast sandwiches and was nice enough to hand me one on a plate. It had been microwaved and was still cold in the middle. Ick. While eating breakfast, a staffer went to the front desk and asked (loud enough for everyone having breakfast to hear) what they should do with the batch of sandwiches where the guest had found mold. If the answer is anything other than "throw them away immediately," run. Day three, woke early on a Sunday for my four-hour drive home. Checked out about 6:45a and, bag over my shoulder, walked to the breakfast area where they were setting up (I believe breakfast was available starting at 7a). After I grabbed coffee and started walking to where the food was, the staffer setting things up went as far as to close the shutters on the breakfast area in an apparent passive-aggressive move to let me know I was 15 minutes early. I'm a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member and have generally gotten great service at their properties. On a few occasions when I've had to depart before breakfast hours, they have even offered "grab and go" food with a granola bar, a banana, etc. Not here. I elected not to wait the 15 minutes and headed off without breakfast. Oh well.
