Earth City: hotel con bar

This experience was so awful I created a TripAdvisor account just to leave this review. We got in to our room late and basically went straight to bed. We were woken up at 9:30 by housekeeping knocking on the door (normal for any hotel). We then called the front desk to get a later checkout so we could rest before we got back on the road, they were nice and gave us till 12:30. The problem was that house keeping would never leave us alone. They kept knocking on the door every 15-20 minutes so we called the front desk and expressed our frustration that we have now not gotten any more rest because of the incessant interruptions and they were nice again and said we could stay till 2 then told housekeeping they never told us that. The knocking didn’t stop. They kept coming back every 15-20 minutes They came back at 12:45 and told us that we couldn’t stay until 2 and had to be out in 15 minutes. We got into an argument with housekeeping and that led to my wife and I getting into an argument after that was finished. It absolutely ruined our entire day before we even got on the road. eventually had to take it to the manager. The manager couldn’t be bothered with us. They gave us $50 This 1 star review would have been 5 stars if the housekeeping staff wasn’t so incompetent or management seemed to care at all. Operational success comes from leadership, the manager failed to even address the issue, holiday inn corporate needs to deal with that. The housekeeping manager needs to be trained with better communication skills with staff and guests. You can NOT get into a verbal argument with guests when the front desk has told them they get a late checkout. Communicate with the front desk better so it doesn’t happen again. A simple apology for the misunderstanding and ask us to help them out by being able to leave any earlier would have deescalated the situation. Instead they accused us of lying and tried to kick us out of the room.
