Glen Gat - Family B&B. It's been the business of Tim and Catherine for 32 years. Now daughter Helena joined it. Their B&B is a restored Victorian house. Each room has a unique design, and the common hall and dining room can be visited as a museum of Irish life. But what attracts and gives uniqueness is the owner of the establishment - Tim, who is known by everyone in Dundalk. He will personally make you breakfast, and chat with you on any topic and joke. If you have any problem, you can easily contact the hosts. From recommendations on where to buy swimming trunks or to repair a laptop to advice on which doctor to consult or which school to send a child to. They will not just give advice, but will also call and arrange a meeting by themselves. Or even take you with them there. If you're lucky enough to visit Glen Gat during the holidays, you can be sure that you'll be celebrating as if at home. On Easter, you will search for chocolate eggs around the hotel and receive a delicious Easter dinner. On Halloween, you will play various games: freeze dance, piñata and others. We checked in late and receptionist was very efficency + friendly.I had rang earlier in the day to say we would be arriving later.Reception asked what time as food finished being served at 9pm.I was happy to know this + we stopped on route as our arrival time was due to be 9 30.We had a lovely spacious room and enjoyed a few drinks in the bar Only small quip: barman didn't let the Guinness settle before top up.Told me ”that will be grand in a few minutes” To me that indicates he knew he should wait.Tasted lovely! Did ask what type of tonic I would like for gin which I was happy about

Io e il mio partner rimaste qui carichi e amava il posto fino a quando non ci siamo rimasti per il suo compleanno nella stanza 320 e sembrava che ci fosse una fuga dal bagno o dall'angolo del bagno. Usavamo rapidamente le tovalette, perché non volevamo disturbare il personale e facevamo in modo che l'acqua corresse via, ma quando ci siamo ripresi, era peggio, quindi abbiamo parlato con un membro del personale e abbiamo chiesto grandi tovalette da bagno consegnate alla nostra stanza, Noi li usavamo, sperando che fosse chiaro, ma nessuno si disturbava di entrare con noi; ci svegliamo a metà della notte e fu molto cattivo correre in corridoio, portandoci a vestirci. Quando siamo andati a controllare abbiamo finito la maggior parte di esso, ma nessuno alla reception ha parlato con una scatola per chiavi. Abbiamo inviato un messaggio per esprimere la nostra frustrazione e siamo stati accusati dal direttore di aver lasciato la doccia correre quando non abbiamo fatto, il che significa che il bagno è stato riempito e scorreva in eccesso, che è assurdo. La gestione ha ignorato i nostri futuri messaggi di risoluzione e questo ci ha portato ad annullare i futuri viaggi. Vedo su Facebook un sacco di recensioni che non funzionano e purtroppo posso concordare, quando hai buoni clienti non dovresti essere ignorati o colpevoli quando si presenta una denuncia di molte soggiorni. Nessuna responsabilità assoluta e fatta per sentirsi come un numero. Mi assicurerò che questo hotel sia ora a tutti i costi. Non c'è rimborso parziale per un soggiorno di compleanno rovinato.

the hotel is very nice when you walk in, staff are very professional&rooms are super clean. the rooms DO NOT have air conditioning, so as we walked in at 3.30pm it was like a sauna.the window would only open a very small amount.there was a fan, which we left on all the time, but that just moved around the hot air.didn't sleep well at all because of heat. AIR CONDITIONING unit needs to be installed. bar is very nice&beer garden. prices are too high though.to pay €7.80 for a pint of birra moretti is too much. would only go back to stay in hotel if i saw air conditioning was installed.
