The location is good. Not too far from a Woolworths grocery store and a coffee shop. The coffee shop opens really early which is essential when loadshedding hits and you can't make coffee in the hotel. The coffee was inconsistently replenished so again, being near a Bootleggers coffee was necessary. The hotel doesn't have a generator so when there is load shedding, you will be affected. If you are going to arrive early, you won't be able to check in early as there was no one who could help us at the front desk until 3pm which is standard check in time. We ended up having lunch in the restaurant so we weren't too inconvenienced but if your flight is much earlier in the day, do be aware of this. Otherwise, not a bad stay and I would consider staying again.

Lovely hotel. Very spacious suites with great views and good amenities. Staff outstanding; Thandi, in particular, paid special attention to our needs in the restaurant and bar and was extremely pleasant. Food service at pool a little slow but quality of food good. Pool very private and good ambience. We had two rooms: 540 top floor beautiful sea view. 427 lower floor and view of adjacent hotel and partial sea view. Rooms need a little attention: no bottle opener, double adaptor or wine glasses when we arrived. Balcony doors don’t close properly but not a real problem for us as we had great sunny weather and little wind. Central location - great walkability and good neighbourhood with plenty of restaurants and bars and close proximity to the promenade for a morning run, evening walk or swim in the two nearby tidal pools.

Fantastic stay. Kevin and Herman were excellent hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Lovely beds. Had two trips out with Herman. He is an excellent guide - took us on a peninsula tour taking in beaches that are not accessible by commercial tour operators. Having seen the freshly caught fish at Simons Town harbour and getting a hankering for fresh fish our wish was Kevin's command and he cooked us some lovely Kingklip. Had a tour to the winelands with Herman who handpicked the best of the wine farms (again far superior to the commercial operators) our stay was finished off with a shuttle back to the airport. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.

YYa ChuLocation was a bit walking distance from waterfront. And the roads were under construction, it was not easy to access Uber or cabs. It was also the convention time, the hotel was packed. Breakfast hours were very noisy and food was soso. It would be a great location for business travelers to the convention centers. Staff were all very friendly and quick checking in and out. But besides the hotel, there was nothing nearby to do at night.

UUtente ospiteVenendo in Sudafrica per la prima volta mi confortò di rimanere in un hotel conosciuto. Usavamo la navetta aeroportuale. Un allenatore accompagnò il nostro conducente. C'era una miscela con il numero di persone, quindi non c'era abbastanza spazio nella macchina per tutti. Il treno è rimasto all'aeroporto (che sarà poi preso) mentre il conducente ci ha portati all'hotel. Così sacrificioso e bello! Ci sono state goduto la decorazione dell'hotel e l'atmosfera rilassata che le divano offerte nel ristorante. Abbiamo soggiornato in una suite fantastica, e il personale era molto amichevole e disposto a aiutare con qualsiasi cosa.

PPaolo VOttimo hotel 5 stelle nel centro di Città del Capo. Ambiente raffinato ed elegante. Camere spaziose e ben arredate, bagno ampio con doccia e vasca. Reception molto gentili e collaborativi. Abbiamo cenato e fatto tre colazioni e tutto ci è sembrato ok, con buona scelta. Ottimo il servizio gratuito per il waterfront molto puntuale.

I had seen this hotel on my last trip to Cape Town almost 10 years ago. I had decided then itself - on my next visit to Cape Town - I am going to stay at the Bay Hotel. I am glad I could make it happen. This is an absolutely amazing hotel - the location is perfect - right across from the beach at Camps Bay, Table Mountain is in the background and just drop dead gorgeous views all around. The area is relatively safe for tourists with lots of shopping and upscale restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are quite large with comfortable furnishings and a seating area plus balcony. The bathrooms are huge with a full bath and dual vanity. If I had to complain- the only thing I would say is that the wifi was a bit slow and that the TV seemed to be 15 years old in my room. Who cares, I was too busy taking in the view outside! A buffet breakfast (cooked to order) was included in my room rate and was amazing! The breakfast area does get crowded though so make sure you go ahead of the main rush hour (I had to wait over 20 min to find a seat). The hotel has a large swimming pool and a spa and I believe it is possible to make day reservations on the swimming pool deck (please confirm). Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful as well. Just FYI - the CPT international airport is about 30-40 min away depending on the time of the day. An Uber ride will cost you around $20 to get there. All in all - I loved my stay at the Bay Hotel. I am 100% staying there again on my next trip to Cape Town.

UUtente ospiteHaving travelled extensively and stayed in numerous hotels worldwide, I can confidently state that my recent experience was the worst ever. Despite seeing several negative reviews about their service, I thought they were just occasional lapses. However, I soon discovered that the hotel had a persistent service problem. I had a problem with my reservation and spent two days trying to resolve it, but no one cared. To make matters worse, I was charged ten times the amount I had originally paid for the same room (i.e., $300 instead of $30) without any reasonable explanation. When I questioned this, the staff merely shrugged it off, citing fluctuating prices as the reason. The lady in charge of reservations was extremely rude and disrespectful throughout the ordeal. In addition to the issues with my reservation and the exorbitant charges, the air conditioner was not working properly and made a lot of noise. Furthermore, the fridge in my room made a huge noise, which disturbed my sleep at 2 am (I recorded a video as proof). Moreover, the noise levels in the dormitory were unacceptable all the night! making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. In short, I urge anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice and look for other options.

RRobsL'appartamento è spazioso, pulito e lussuoso. Lovvvvvve le bagni. Ho avuto un soggiorno molto rilassante presso le Residences al Crystal Hotel. Il personale è amichevole e utile. Il buffet del colazione era rinfrescante e aveva una vasta selezione di cibi. La posizione è conveniente, vicino al Canal Walk che abbiamo spesso camminato per comprare ciò che avevamo bisogno per rendere il nostro soggiorno più piacevole e visitare la Chiesa di Hillsong al contrario della strada è stata una fantastica esperienza.

Jjose luisL'hotel è situato proprio accanto a dove si prende il ”Hop on Hop off bus” che è molto bene. È tra ”Green Market Square” e la strada ”Long Street” In questa piazza si mettono da tempo i punti di vendita artigianali. Ho letto lamentele sul rumore al mattino quando montano i posti (poiché devono montare presto e smontare a partire dalle 5 pm) ma non è in realtà fastidioso. Ho avuto una cattiva esperienza, perché alle 7:00 sono stato rubato in strada tra l'hotel e la chiesa che dà alla Plaza. Mi hanno rubato il mio telefono cellulare. Ci sono molte persone che chiedono di comprare loro cibo o di dar loro cibo, siate molto attenti. Il personale dell'hotel è molto gentile e servizio. Le camere sono di base. Il letto è comodo, il bagno è un po' stretto, non molto comodo. Il giorno del mio check-out non c'era nessuno nella reception dell'hotel a servizio. Erano le 5:50 am. C'era un gruppo che arrivava per fare il check-in, ma non c'era peso in reception per rispondere a loro. La piscina è piccola, è sul lato, ma la zona è davvero molto piccola. Il ginnastica conta con il basso. La colazione è corretta, frutta, uova, tagli freddi, formaggi, pane e cereali. Puoi sederti sulla terrazza o all'interno. Anche il pane senza glutine a richiesta.

We arrived to find our room was not ready, once it was the place still looked unkempt, there was a bucket in the bath, the furniture had not been returned to its original locations well and the complimentary items seemed used.
On our second night there was load shedding a common occurrence however there seemed to be no precautionary measures taken and we had to use our phone lights to climb the three flights of stairs to our room only to find the rechargeable light (obviously for such occasions) had no batteries and was therefore useless. As South African citizens we fully understand the uncertainty of power but for the cost and normal clientele of this accommodation we really expected there to be more in place.
The meal times had been adjusted for the convenience of the staff who were on the premises compared to the welcome sheet details we received on arrival. The whole place seemed to be being run by support staff with no obvious manager on site for the three days we were there (we stayed over a weekend which I would assume to be a prime time)
There is about 4 parking sports in front of the building but they were not being used to their full potential and often we had to park a little further away.
Overall the location was the main positive. Considering the price we would have hoped to have better amenities and hope that the profile for this accommodation can be amended as there are no pools on the property unlike what the description had lead us to believe.
Luckily the charm of Simon’s town and the beaches made up for the serious lack of attention to detail and luxury you would assume a place this price and in this location would have.
3/10 would probably not go there again.
