I booked this trip for my birthday and I was overall satisfied with my trip. I will agree with the other reviews and state that the rooms on the non-diamond side did have an old smell to it but it was nothing that my candle could fix. As long as my candle burned in the room, the old smell did vanish.I wished I could've enjoyed my jacuzzi on the balcony but the drain didnt open or close but I did enjoy the jacuzzi in my room. I was able to try every restaurant but 2 (the indian and the italian spots) The food at the resturants were decent. My favorite restaurant being the Taj and least favorite being Agave. The drinks were pretty good also. The staff were phenomenal and went above and beyond to provide great service and hospitality. They even decorated my door with a Happy Birthday Banner. I did get a chance to experience the Diamond Lifestyle and I must admit, having a butler was a great experience. Orlando, my butler, made the rest of my stay a breeze. I already booked my next stay for another Royalton Resort in Punta Cana, but this time an adult-only resort!

I have had amazing experiences at Royaltons both in Saint Lucia and Puerta Vallarta. This was far from those. Staff was apologetic but check in was a nightmare, food was marginal. Honestly was glad it was only two nights. I’m going to New York in June and wanted a Royalton but now I don’t know. Very disappointed

The escalator was broken, and the food trucks didn’t have variety of foods each day-same food, and at peak hours not enough bar tenders. The dance club was small and hot. Should design something outside so it attracts larger crowd for dancing.

We loved everything about Royalton Riviera except for the steakhouse. We liked all of the food that we tried but the ribeye steaks were thin, fatty and chewy. They also tasted like they were microwaved and not cooked over a flame.

I went with a large group that made the trip worthwhile. However, I cannot recommend this property compared to other all-inclusive options. Cleaning staff did the best they could, but rooms are dated and run down. We had water running down the walls and puddling in our room and they still didn’t move us. After numerous calls they finally cleaned up the mess. Check in was a hassle. I got my room I paid $100 to select, but they charged my friend $100 for a room she selected and did not get. I will say the ******* concierge was courteous and helpful, as much as he could be. Overall, staff members were polite.

It's a nice property. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the resort. It was for my birthday and staff like ******* ambassador Joshua made my birthday special. Check-in wasnt the greatest since there was miscommunication prior to my arrival that affected additional money i had to pay. But the overnight manager and front desk Erik help make the best of a non ideal situation. I got my swimout room which I loved especially with so many people at the hotel for spring break. Having my room located at the end made it perfect. The only thing is if i wanted to order drinks it was difficult for the waiters to get my drink to me. I didnt know that there were so many perks with booking with *******, but it made my stay more enjoyable. I have booked with orbitz and i rarely got any of the things promised. Joshua, Marsaille, Vanessa, Miguel, the chef and waiter from chefs experience were awesome. But improvements are needed. There was some visible wear and tear on rooms. Missing or chipped tile, worned out wood pn doors, there was a noticeable smell of sewage throughout property. But there were also momemts where there were nice sweet smells like an airfreshener. There was differently plumbing issues you can hear.Mosquito sprayings should be a part of cleanings. I had so many Mosquitos in my room. I tried to keep the fan to deter them and hid under cover so i wouldn't get bit. Maids should have better cleaning supplies to clean thoroughly. But they do try their best.still enjoyed stay.

This stay was a disaster!!!!! The only thing good I can say is the location to the airport is good and the food is ok. Check in took over an hour had to wait with a buzzer in the humid hot lobby because they did not have our room ready and it was after check in time, the rooms smell like mildew, the room ac's don't keep up with the humidity and keeping the rooms cool, the rooms are not clean, our toilet did not function properly, we did not receive the room we booked, we were to have an ocean view and had a view of the trees, Whole resort smelled like sewer, room service was always to take 45 min max and we waited 2 hours one night, mini bar was to be filled daily and they only filled it once in the 5 days we were there and that was only after we called them 7 times. We called housekeeping several times due to not having towels, trash bags in the trash can or even bedding for the pull out couch we had to use since they did not get us the double queen room. They would always say they would be right down and would not show up. Called about broken toilet at least 5 times finally got a repair man who could not fix it and said they would send someone in the morning and did not we called several more times no one ever came & fixed the toilet the whole stay. The pools and outside structures are run down and starting to look bad, pool furniture never cleaned and full of bird crap, rooms are not kept up and falling apart. Drinks are watered down way overpriced resort for what you get!

Property showing it's age. Definitely not 5 star and food left a lot to be desired. Beer awful, unless you are diamond club, give up on the restaurants. Ambience quite good.

Paid extra to have 2 douple beds. Had to wait 2 days to get correct room. Front desk service was very disappointing. Had to asked 4 times before we got tv rebooted.

way most of our stay and we had mouse poo on the bed. We tried to get the issues resolved, waiting 6 nights to be told ******* couldn’t do anything because the hotel wouldn’t reply to the and the hotel wouldn’t help us because we booked through *******.

We had a fabulous stay! Joshua was so wonderful. Having someone check on us, provide us with reservations, and be a friendly kind face was wonderful!

Most staff was courteous but mold in rooms smell of sewer on property and no bleach when they clean or wash dishes no straws or plastic cups or plastic wear and beware room service is gross and lazy they bring you old cold food half cooked and have the nerve to call after you place an order how many in room and do you still want it ? If so it’ll be hours … Meanwhile if it’s after hours there no store door dash or vending machines ask

Let me start by saying I love being able to leave the hotel and walk around (my disclaimer). The property is absolutely gorgeous no low scoring there at all; but if you’re looking for something to do outside of the resort this is not the location for you. This property is located on the coral reef which means there is not jet skis, parasailing and beach fun. The water is not as blue as it is in the “hotel zone”. The staff and service are absolutely great and they do make the stay very pleasant but again outside of the daily dining and activities at the property there isn’t much to do. Now if you want to relax only this is the place for you but it reminded me of being in cruise ship sitting on the lifo deck all day. Taxis are $65 one way away from the resort and that’s whether you traveling with 2 people or 10. But, again the resort is super clean, the rooms aren’t exactly like the pics on the website but they are nice. Ocean view is NOT a direct ocean view, it a glance. The complete view is of the pool and party are which is cool at night cause you can sit in your balcony and watch the activities. Overall it’s relaxing resort but don’t be fooled by the no reservations need at the restaurants you indeed need a reservation or you’ll have to wait an hour.
