Premier Inn Belfast City Cathedral Quarter

Excellent location to explore Belfast by foot. Restaurants and night lfe in immediate area.

The keycard entry system was appalling, and failed more often than it worked. Almost every time we needed to access our room, we needed several trips to reception to be re-issued with cardkeys, which almost invariably also failed. It usually took around 20 minutes (sometimes more) to access the room, and on one occasion, we could not access the hotel.

The Premier Inn Cathedral Quarter is a great place to stay in Belfast. It is conveniently located close to all of the major tourist attractions. The cathedral quarter is the historical area of Belfast and full of atmosphere with lively pubs and bars and great restaurants. The hotel is also conveniently situated for the 600 bus from Belfast City Airport with the nearest bus stop being a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel reception staff were very warm and friendly and upgraded our room to a premium room with a bath. The only negative point was the breakfast which was uninspiring with the food sitting around on the bufet and becoming cold.

I stayed here for two nights as I was attending a wedding just outside of Belfast. I booked the more expensive room as I wanted the amenities of waterfall shower, mini fridge, bigger room etc. The room was really lovely, and I felt very relaxed here. The only thing was the room was advertised as having a mini fridge so I brought food with me. Unfortunately it didn't have a mini fridge, and my food went to waste. When I arrived at the front desk the welcome wasn't the warmest. But the person checking me out was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again, the beds were comfy and the shower was heavenly!

The staff were really lovely. The location was great. The bed and room were comfortable. Unfortunately for us there was extremely noisy building renovations going on in the hotel whilst we were there. We were woken before 7 am by workmen talking and by 8 am, the machinery and what sounded like huge drills, alongside constant really loud hammering started up. The noise was ridiculously loud and really ruined our sleep. On the 24/5, I received emailed communication of an update to our booking to say: ‘Information regarding your upcoming stay Refurbishment works- Some noise disruption may be heard between 8am and 6pm. We'd like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.‘ If I had known this at the time of booking , 23/3, I most probably would not have risked choosing this hotel as sleep is important to me when I go on holiday. There was no point complaining to the staff at the time as it was outside of their control. Next time, this information should be available at the booking stage; especially when it is such an established company. I would be mindful of using this hotel over the next few months whilst they are refurbishing what seems like an entire floor of the hotel. Sorry Premier Inn! I wish the review was more positive.

Stayed here for 2 nights and was a bit apprehensive as I knew the hotel was being refurbished and knew there would be building work,however I was pleasantly surprised.We were given one of the newly refurbished rooms on the 5th floor(508).Everything was brand new and spotlessly clean,the bed was super comfy,breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice,powerful shower in the newly refurbished bathroom and friendly staff. For the price I paid I thought it was good value for money and more than likely book this hotel the next time I return to Belfast. The only thing that needs addressed and it’s probably only a minor detail is that the shower head in the new shower needs repositioned as when the shower is running it is soaking the floor,but other than that it was a great stay.

Room was fine, bed very comfortable and there's a shower, a loo, TV and a kettle. But the free WiFi! Dreadful. I had to reconnect at least a dozen times before the connection would hold and then after less than 20 min, although apparently still connected, all traffic stopped. And this, over and over again. WiFi that works and at no extra cost should be standard.

Stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting Belfast. It is conveniently located in the city for getting around and there are lots of bars and restaurants close to hand. It is just about what you expect from Premier Inn with a few exceptions. The staff were not exactly gushing with warmth and you go t the feeling they were just doing the job. They were not rude or unhelpful. I asked about decaf tea or coffee for the room but was informed they don't do it. What was really surprising though was that after paying for a cooked breakfast we also found they don't do decaf in the restaurant either. Who doesn't do decaf these days. For me, who has a heart condition and must avoid caffeine, this meant there was no way for me to get a hot drink in the hotel or our room. The hotel was not exactly dirty but not what you could call spotlessly clean. The rooms are devoid of any niceties and there is no biscuits provided which I'm sure they use to do. We were only provided with one hand towel. The bed was obviously quite old and had a sunken centre which meant we rolled into the centre together. It was a little lumpy too. I know businesses have suffered in recent years but I think skimping on decaf, biscuits, towels and not replacing old mattresses is possibly taking things a bit far and lowered this from a comfortable budget hotel to just a cheap hotel.
