Hotel a La Romana, Repubblica Dominicana

I definitely would recommend this hotel. From PUJ to hotel is about an hour or so give or take on traffic. It was $90 each way and make sure to mention to your taxi or shuttle service the Hilton Garden Inn otherwise they will take you to the all inclusive Hilton which is about 20 minutes away. The hotel itself is fairly new about few months opened so that was a plus. If you want tranquil, relaxing, and quiet this is the spot. As soon as you walk through the front doors the staff is very welcoming, respectful, and very helpful. Wiley at the desk was amazing for my stay. The restaurant and bar staff wonderful especially Fluery (I hope I spelled it correctly). My room was beautiful with ocean balcony view. I did enjoy the pool, its not heated, but clean, and was maintained each morning that I was there. Pool towels are available for you if needed, and restrooms outside by the pool area. There was some building going on for the 6 days I was there, a concert was for that Saturday night so they were building the stage and stuff, I do wish that I was notified ahead of time so I could have decided to stay or not. Otherwise it was fine you got use to the noise basically. The food was good and they had the buffet for breakfast. There is a cute gift shop area located by the front desk. I did get to speak briefly to the GM upon my departure she was very nice. The owner Edwin was nice seen him a couple of times in the lobby/bar area during my stay, he was preparing for the concert. Make sure to visit the pier/tower/boat dock area that’s in back of the hotel. It has a mini beach area to swim, as well as take great photos and a shop that makes drinks. You will feel safe at this property with in in house security and the military personnel that is stationed outside back of hotel. It’s simply gorgeous! If you need to get groceries or anything they have the supermarket that is not far away called Jumbo. If you want to book an excursion you can go to front desk and they will assist you! The con for this property is no ATM, make sure you bring enough cash if you are looking to tip.

Credo che sia il peggior resort della zona. Cibo scarso, ripetitivo, di qualità scadente. La proposta era sempre la stessa e se non terminava, gli stessi alimenti venivano conditi con salsine e cipolla per la sera o per il giorno seguente.Animazione poco coinvolgente e poco qualificata. Eravamo lasciati a noi stessi. Camere sporche, per farci cambiare le asciugamani bisognava chiedere più volte. Siamo capitati durante il tornando Franklin e addirittura abbiamo dovuto cambiare camera perché allagati. La Navetta per il mare spesso non passava, senza motivazione. Personale molto gentile, ma purtroppo non basta per accogliere noi italiani e soprattutto per classificare un resort come quattro stelle.

Mi rendo conto di scrivere una recensione che si distingue dalle altre ma, ho viaggiato molto e sono stato in molti hotel di cui ne descrivo sempre i particolari in quanto ritengo che TripAdvisor sia un utile piattaforme per la comunità dei viaggiatori. Allora, cominciamo dai punti si: La spiaggia è bella con un mate piuttosto bello; i giardini sono curati e la struttura relativamente nuova. I punti no: tanta gente, troppa, gli spazi che, per quanto grandi, costringono a stare sempre appiccicati, dai ristoranti alla spiaggia alle piscine. Ristoranti/cucina: nel ristorante principale ci si serve a buffet, il cibo è discreto ma non eccezionale: pochissimo pesce, niente molluschi, tanta carne, pollo, maiale. I dolci sono stucchevoli, stancano subito. Di sera si può o, sarebbe meglio dire si potrebbe, accedere agli altri ristoranti: italiano, francese e peruviano ma non si può prenotare per cui attese bibliche per entrare; siamo stati ieri sera in quello italiano e da italiano, vi posso dire che non c’entra nulla con la nostra cucina: location senza carattere, uno stanzone che ricorda più quelli visti in America; ordiniamo tra le altre, tre antipasti di caprese e ci arrivano (dopo 50’ il personale lento e gira a vuoto,)tre caesar Salad; lo facciamo notare ma mangiamo quella x evitare altre inutili attese; e invece ancora una lunghissima attesa per i primi:: 2 risotti e 1 linguine che arrivano insieme ai secondi e ci piazzano tutto sul tavolo, senza avere spazio sufficienza: i primi letteralmente Scotti, il Baccalà ricoperto di panatuta dura. Il dolce 1 caprese, costituita da una piccolo merendina con del gelato sopra. Insomma nulla a che vedere con la cucina italiana. In spiaggia e in piscina si sentono diverse musiche che creano una cacofonia senza lasciare spazio ai rumori della natura, un vero peccato. Accomodation : sembra una camera di città , nulla di caraibico. In piscina ed in spiaggia vi sono delle cabanas alla modica cifra di 69 dollari al giorno, infatti la maggior parte è vuota. Molto onestamente mi aspettavo di più considerate anche le recensioni, con le quali mi sento normalmente in linea ma non questa volta. Staremo qui fino a sabato e mi adeguerò ma non tornerò a casa con un bel ricordo dei Caraibi come molte altre volte. Ci tornerei? Non penso.
