Hotels con pick-up a Antigua Guatemala

You feel at home immediately you enter reception and meet the welcoming staff. The grounds are lovely with a beutiful views of the Volcanoes from restaurant and garden. The rooms have been quirkily set out as streets of houses with a cobbled road (not great for wheeling a suitcase especially when you are right at the back!). Our room was in a small courtyard containing several others on two storeys, it comprised two double beds with ample space adn a large shower/loo area. A hairdryer was provided and water stations were plentiful outside. This unfortunately is where the cons kick in, our room was situated right at the far left of the complex and a busy noisy road ran alongside so during it was very noisy both day and night! Maybe ask for a room on the garden side of the complex which should be quieter! There is a nice pool and the open fronted restaurant has stunning views of Volcano Fuego - which was kindly puffing smoke during our visit! Breakfast was served to order, only 3 choices - We had Omlette - ham/cheese or cheese/spinach - served with mashed beans, tortilla and hot plantain - juice - tea -coffee. It was reasonable but service was very slow especially for tea refils. Overall a nice hotel, with pleasant staff but situated a good 25 minutes walk from the town centre which given the traffic noise is not much of a plus. Would we stay again ? - yes but we would request rooms next to the garden which I suspect were much quieter. Also meaning we didn't have to negotiate the cobbled street with our wheelie bags.

Hostal Antigua è fantastico. L'ostello è molto pulito e il personale è così utile e amichevole. Il personale è disponibile tutto il giorno e si può prenotare autobus con l'ostello che sono molto buoni. Le strutture cucina sono anche grandi. I processi di check-in e check-out sono stati anche molto rapidi e facili. Molto consiglia di rimanere in questo splendido ostello!

The hotel is a jewel! A restored convent, it is like a paradise. Our room was an extremely spacious suite, exceptionally comfortable for the six nights we were there. The hotel staff is just wonderful - not at all obsequious - just very genuine and efficient. The food in the restaurant was outstanding. Everything you might want when traveling abroad, but special in its own way. Not just a pizza, or just a steak, but a creative and interesting pizza, and a deliciously sauced steak. And the place is beautiful, very calming, with lots of interesting art work. I loved it.

Aside from all the great things they offer and fulfill, the gardens, the peaceful atmosphere and the cozy facilities, this time I have a happy anecdote to share. My daughter (3) left a very special doll in the room. After getting back home and searching everywhere we realized the doll had stayed in the hotel. I called a week after and they offered to keep her safe indeterminately as long as I called every couple of months to express I still needed her. After 2 months I asked if they could have shipped to me (of course, me paying for the expenses), and they coordinated the shipment, followed up and long story short, the doll is safe at home, intact and very relaxed after staying 2 months in the hotel.

This hotel has so much potential but so badly managed and poorly maintained. We had booked three nights and only stayed one; Here are some of the reasons: 1. The pool doesn’t work (they never informed us of this nor published it on any of the sites) 2. When we arrived to our room, we noticed the AC was making some really weird noises and not cooling (thank goodness it wasn’t summer otherwise it would have been a sauna in there) . We called reception at night but it wasn’t fixed and we had to spend the night hearing the equivalent to an engine inside our room. 3. If you are brave enough to stay here MAKE SURE YOUR ROOM DOESNT FACE THE STREET, otherwise be ready to be awake at 4:00 am by drunk people and passing cars. 4. In the morning I was taking a shower and noticed the water wasn’t draining properly, then I noticed the mold (caused by the lack of proper drainage) My husband asked the hotel manager (Marco Vinicio) for a room change. It took him 5 hours to give us an answer (even though we checked with him 3 times during the morning). At the end, the change couldn’t happen. We then proceeded to book at Casa Santo Domingo (which is AMAZING by the way) and the manager told us we needed to contact Booking directly if we wanted to get reimbursed. I showed him Booking’s policies online, which clearly stated that it is up to the hotel to give the reimbursement, he said that’s not how they do it. I then proceeded to call Booking so they could request the reimbursement (like he had asked me to do) and after getting an email from Booking, he then proceeded to say they could not do it. This whole ordeal was now on its 6th hour. During this time other guests complained about BUGS on their beds. I asked the to talk to Jessica Lopez (who is the sales manager) and she refused to talk to me - in person or over the phone. By this time, Marco Vinicio was literally hiding on the second floor where I had to go get them. Even the guy from Booking (who stayed on the phone with me for about an hour) was in shock about how badly they were handling the situation. This was such an anticipated vacation, my husband and I had been planning it for a year and they managed to ruin it.

I had a great experience at Why Not. I arrived at 8am from El Salvador on little sleep. Andrés checked if my room was available and let me pass early to rest. The rooms are great for the price. Very reasonable. Beautiful terrace with views of all the volcanos. Andrés and Sofia were very helpful throughout my stay. They always assisted and made me feel welcomed. Very central location at an excellent price. --------- Tuve una gran experiencia en Why Not. Llegué a las 8 am desde El Salvador durmiendo poco. Andrés revisó si mi habitación estaba disponible y me dejó pasar temprano para descansar. Las habitaciones son geniales por el precio. Muy razonable. Hermosa terraza con vistas a todos los volcanes. Andrés y Sofía fueron de gran ayuda durante mi estancia. Siempre me ayudaron y me hicieron sentir bienvenido. Ubicación muy céntrica a un precio excelente.

We were A family of three traveling and was happy to find Naïf has accommodations 3 beds in one room. This was centrally located, easy access to points of interests. We enjoyed the colonial architecture and its authenticity. We were greeted by a friendly staff and were very accommodating with requests. There is a beautiful courtyard to sit and read or admire the beautiful well kept garden. We would stay here again on our next visit.

Our family loved this hotel! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The shuttle service was easy to set up to and from the airport. I have read reviews about the beds being too hard- we actually prefer a firmer mattress and found them to be perfect! The hotel was SO clean!! It is in an extremely convenient location to Central Park and restaurants and coffee shops. The hotel felt super safe. The gate is kept closed most of the time with a button to buzz. The front desk is always staffed. We were dropped off late after attending a wedding and staff immediately opened the gate for us. The entire grounds are decorated so nice. The pool is a nice addition! I feel I do need to mention that yes, the bar next door unfortunately adds noise at no fault of the hotel but for our family, we were tired from travels and explorations, so we had no trouble falling asleep! Ask for a second story room if possible. The view from the balcony outside room 10 was breathtaking!! Perfect view of the volcano! The little ice cream shoppe next to the hotel was really good, too! I fell in love with Antigua City and hope to visit again! I would definitely choose this hotel again!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!
